Krakow Krakow is the most important city in polish history and is located in South Poland. Krakow was Poland s ancient royal capital, and has been a home for many famous local and international writers, artists and thinkers. UNESCO lists it as one of the world s twelve most significant historic sites! Here you can visit the most striking royal residences in Europe such as Wawel Castle or the medieval Sukiennice, being a vast cloth hall which is a great place for shopping if you are after amber jewellery or thick hand-woven woollen sweaters. The Old Town with its many squares, gothic, renaissance and baroque style buildings offer many hours of sightseeing, shopping or simply an array of places where to have some food or drinks. How to get there? Departures are from most UK airports and your flight time is approx. 2hrs 45min to 3hrs. You will be arriving in either Krakow itself or Katowice Airport. Please note that the transfer from Katowice Airport to your hotel in Krakow will take approx. 45mins. Warsaw Warsaw is the capital of Poland and is located in the heart of the country by the river Vistula. Being Poland s most cosmopolitan, dynamic and interesting city, it comes dotted with luxury hotels, elegant shops, great parks and modern architecture. The city offers you a mixture of Stalinist structures such as the giant Palace of Culture and Science which was a gift of friendship from the Soviet Union to the Polish nation and was built in 1950. Here you can go to the 30th floor where there is a viewing terrace. Further you can find historic monuments of WWII, such as the Warsaw Ghetto that was made famous by Roman Polanski s film the Pianist. The booming New Town needs to be seen as well as you would not want to miss the Polish Champs Elysee! Also take advantage of the Old Town with its Royal 14th Century Castle snd the charming park/palace complex of Lazienki and Wilanow. How to get there? Ski Holidays in Poland Zakopane Poland is a wonderful place for many outdoor activities and winter sport is probably top of the list. Go Poland can highly recommend a trip to Zakopane, Poland s Winter Capital. Don t expect the Alps, but prepare yourself for a good medium-sized ski resort (50 + ski lifts), with loads of charm and above all, great value for money! It was an excellent holiday and excellent value for money. The holiday went without a hitch. We were met at arrivals by our driver and taken to our hotel. Throughout the holiday as a party of two people, we were treated like VIPs; having our own guides and drivers. On the first day we were met by a guide for the walking tour of Krakow; who because it was raining took us by car and in fact extended the trip to include a vist to Schindler's factory. Our tour around Auschwitz and Birkenau was done by one of the curators, certainly a trip not to be taken lightly. The trip down the Salt Mine was very interesting and guided by an English teacher, who took a lot of time to explain all of the sights. The walk at Babia Gora was expertly guided. Clearly Poland is a rapidly developing tourist hot spot. The Poles are very friendly and use of English was widespread. The 5 star Radisson hotel was excellent and we had a spacious room. If we return to Poland, we'd have no hesitation in booking with you. So once again many thanks for arranging it.
