Lofoten Workshop : July 26 August 4 2016 www.christianfletcher.com.au Located inside The Arctic Circle @ 68 degrees north, Lofoten is truly a photographers paradise. Lofoten is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland Norway, and is known for it s distinctive scenery with dramatic mountain peaks, sheltered bays, beaches and untouched wilderness. Join both Christian and Michael Fletcher, along with Rod Thomas on this 8 day adventure into one of the most photogenic places on earth. Christian needs no introduction and neither does Michael. They are both renowned worldwide for their photographic and video achievements. Rod has travelled to this area numerous times and knows the region extremely well. Joining us on the trip also will be local Norwegian photographer and guide Tommy Simonsen, who will help guide us to the best places at the best times. We have structured this trip around the end of the Midnight Sun period, where night slowly returns and the sunset / sunrise hours merge together for what seems an eternity. Sunset is around 11pm and sunrise is approx 3.30am making it one huge big light explosion that lasts for hours and hours and hours. We could be shooting a sunset that last for three or four hours which turns into a sunrise that could last for a few more hours.. it is crazy how the light is up here. This is not just a photography trip but is also aimed at videographers and during the day we can take advantage of Christian s crazy Photoshop skills and for those interested in the process of how to capture and edit video to professional standards, Michael is the man.

Travel insurance: Travel insurance is MANDATORY and highly recommended for cover of unforeseen circumstances. Camera and equipment insurance is the responsibility of the individual photographer. Camera experience required: A modest level of photographic experience would be advisable to get the most out of the tuition. Familiarizing yourself with the basic camera operations would be strongly advised. Please bring camera manuals in case the tutors need to make adjustments to your camera settings. Included in the workshop Minimum numbers: All workshops are conducted based on a minimum of participants booking. This may vary from workshop to workshop. If we cancel due to minimum numbers not being reached you will get a full refund. Other bookings you may make are not our responsibility and so we recommend travel insurance to cover this. If you have any other medical conditions that might affect your enjoyment of the workshop please let us know. Evening and early morning shoots will form part of the workshops. You may choose to not participate in these but we recommend that you do take part. Early morning shoot times are entirely dependant on the sunrise times so schedules we set for departure will need to be adhered to rigidly. It s not fair to the group as a whole to have to wait for a late riser so we will leave exactly at the times we say.
Please bring clothing suited to early morning or evening shoots that may be a little chilly, sturdy foot wear, hat, sunscreen and camera of course. Like any trip away from home please bring personal medication requirements. We usually meet the evening before the workshop to have drinks and/or dine together and get to know each other. Please consider this when planning your travel arrangements. Liability Limitation Statement We aim to provide every participant with a safe, educational and enjoyable experience during the workshops. As there is always an element of risk associated with the outdoors and travel in general we accept no responsibility/liability for injury, death, illness, losses or additional expenses associated with workshop participation.
