PR078/14 4 September 2014 Enhanced MTR Service for Mid-Autumn Festival To provide members of the public with greater travel convenience enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival (8 September 2014), MTR will be operating overnight train service on all MTR lines (except Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line and certain Light Rail routes). Train service frequencies will be increased from on the Kwun Tong Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Island Line and Tseung Kwan O Line, and from 4:00pm on the East Rail Line, West Rail Line and Tung Chung Line. A tal of 159 extra train trips will be provided. Light Rail routes 507, 614P, 615P, 705 and 706 will also operate throughout the night. Details of the service enhancements are available in the attached annex and the MTR website www.mtr.com.hk. To further celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with members of the community, a group of Hong Kong engineers with special musical talents teamed up for a special festive performance. Participants including Deputy Direcr Operating of MTR Corporation Ir Adi Lau and Legislative Council member Ir Dr Hon Lo Wai-kwok entertained passengers with a series of popular Chinese songs played on the erhu, pipa and other traditional Chinese musical instruments on 3 September in the art in mtr - living art venue in the Central Subway of Hong Kong Station. In addition, around 150 District Councillors and senior citizens ok part in a series of moon cake-making workshops organised by MTR s District Council Liaison Team (DCLT) at Kowloon Bay Depot. In addition, DCLT members and District Councillors are visiting elderly homes and centres this week distribute moon cake gift packs and share the joy of the happy festival with approximately 1,000 elderly residents. MTR Bus MTR Bus routes feeding West Rail Line will be enhanced, with Route 506 extending service while routes K51 and K52 will operate until 1:00am at a frequency of 12 15 minutes. Airport Express and Disneyland Resort Line Airport Express and Disneyland Resort Line will operate according their normal schedules during the Mid-Autumn Festival. General Reminders Passengers taking the MTR during the Mid-Autumn Festival are recommended use their Ocpus cards. Single journey ticket users are encouraged purchase two tickets at their starting station, keeping one ticket for their return journey. To cope with the anticipated increase in passenger flow, special crowd control arrangements will be in place at busy stations such as Tsim Sha Tsui, East Tsim Sha Tsui, Jordan, Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Admiralty and Central stations. Passengers are reminded follow the advice from station staff and the police.
