UNBELIEVABLE ITALY Daily Itinerary Day 1: Wednesday, May 23: Overnight Flight Welcome to Italy, a land rich in history, culture, art and romance. Our journey begins with an overnight flight to Rome, The Eternal City. We ll arrive in Italy early on day 2. Day 2: Thursday, May 24: Rome Italy, Tour Begins You arrive in Rome today. Some free time in the activity to breathe the air or Rome as you adjust to being in Europe. This evening, we ll enjoy a special welcome dinner at a popular local restaurant featuring regional delicacies and other delicious cuisine. We stay at the lovely Hotel Diana with a roof garden-cafe overlooking the city. Welcome to one of the world s greatest cities. Today dinner will be included. Day 3: Friday, May 25: Rome This morning, enjoy a locally guided panoramic tour of Rome featuring the impressive Piazza Venezia, the Circus Maximus, the Coliseum, the Arch of Constantine, and the famous Piazza Navona. This afternoon it s your choice! Perhaps a trip to Vatican City, with an optional tour to the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica*. Other options will be provided as well. Today breakfast will be included. Day 4: Saturday, May 26: Rome - Assisi - Perugia Today enjoy a full day of sightseeing complete with a short lesson on the local language. We travel to Assisi, birthplace of St. Francis where we enjoy a guided walking tour of the old city, including the Basilica of St. Francis. The setting for Assisi is quite lovely. Then you are off to medieval Perugia, the historic capital of Umbria. Perugia has one of the grandest squares in Italy, the Piazza IV Novembre, surrounded by medieval palaces and ornate cathedrals. Today breakfast and dinner will be included. Day 5: Sunday, May 27: Perugia - Siena - Florence A scenic journey through Tuscany s graceful low-lying hills brings us to the mystical city of Siena in the heart of Tuscany. You will be delighted by its narrow Gothic streets, magnificent palaces and historic Piazza del Campo. After a walking tour with a local expert, take some time to explore the medieval corners of Siena with its great shops and outdoor cafes. En route to Florence, visit a family-owned leather shop and learn the traditional Italian techniques of leather making. Today breakfast and dinner will be included. Day 6: Monday, May 28: Florence In Florence, the Cradle of Italian Renaissance, we visit the world-famous Academy Gallery to see Michelangelo s incredible statue of David. During your cultural tour of Florence, you'll also view the Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Church of Santa Croce, burial place of Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli. We end our morning at a local gold shop with an informative explanation of Florentine gold and its fascinating techniques. The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy this fascinating city on your own. Today breakfast will be included. Day 7: Tuesday, May 29: Florence - Venice Start your day with a visit to a 12 th century castle in the heart of the endless vineyard called the Chianti region. We will learn about Tuscany s famous vineyards and enjoy a lunch filled with local specialties. This afternoon, we journey through central Italy, crossing over the wooded and beautiful Apennine Mountains toward the Valley of the Po. Enchanting Venice awaits with 117 tiny islands and its latticework of 150 canals and 400 bridges, truly one of the world s greatest destinations. Today breakfast and lunch will be included. Day 8: Wednesday, May 30: Venice - Murano Island - Venice Your day begins with a boat trip (weather permitting) to Murano Island for an up-close glass making demonstration. Next, return to Venice and visit charming St. Mark s Square, the lively hub of the city's activity and events. A local expert will guide us on a walking tour of the area featuring St. Mark s Basilica, the Doge s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Clock Tower with its famous Moors. Today breakfast and dinner will be included. Day 9: Thursday, May 31: Venice - Lugano, Switzerland - Como, Italy - Milan Malpensa Today you travel to the picturesque Italian Lake district. We cross into Switzerland and the lakeside resort of Lugano to enjoy beautiful views of Lake Lugano with excellent shopping opportunities with lovely backdrops. Returning to Italy, spend time in the elegant town of Como. Lake Como s charm is tied to its beautiful villas, lush gardens, waterfront towns and spectacular views. This is truly one of the most charming places in all of Europe and is an example of the incredible variety that Italy has to offer. We then continue to Milan Malpensa for a farewell dinner celebrating the end of an unforgettable trip. Today breakfast and dinner will be included. Day 10: Friday, June 1: Milan Malpensa - Tour Ends Your tour ends in Milan Malpensa this morning. Today breakfast will be included.
Registration Information: To make a reservation, simply fill out the attached reservation form and send it to us with a deposit of $400 per person. When we receive your deposit, we will mail you a receipt confirming that you are registered for the tour. A letter with instructions, hotel itinerary flight information (if applicable) and luggage tags will be sent 90 days prior to departure at which time the balance will be due. You do not need to pay the balance until after you receive that packet. We require final payments in the form of a check. If that is not possible, arrangements can be made to use a credit card. Webb Tours accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover. A 2% surcharge will be added for credit card final payments. Also, if there is insufficient demand for a private Webb Tour, tour participants will join other Collette Tour participants (with the same exact itinerary and dates). Cancellation Penalties We understand that you may need to cancel your trip for whatever reason. If it is 95 days or more before departure, all money will be refunded. If it is within 95 days, the following schedule applies 95 46 days prior $200 per person + insurance + any applicable airline fees 45 22 days prior 25% of total cost + insurance + any applicable airline fees 21 8 days prior 50% of total cost + insurance + any applicable airline fees 7 1 days prior 75% of total cost + insurance + any applicable airline fees Day of departure 100% of total cost + insurance + any applicable airline fees For airlines, specifically, tickets are generally non refundable when purchased. However, most airlines will allow the value of the canceled tickets to be reused for future travel, though a penalty may be assessed to reuse the tickets. If you have to cancel, Webb Tours will work with other providers to obtain as much refund as possible for our travelers. Cancellation Insurance: To avoid cancellation penalties, cancellation insurance may be purchased. Insurance will reimburse you for the nonrefundable cancellation penalties imposed if you must cancel your trip for a covered reason like illness, injury or death to you, a traveling companion or an immediate family member. Other reasons for cancellation include Common Carrier-caused delays due to inclement weather, jury duty, or a documented traffic accident en route to departure. The per person price for insurance for this tour is $179 The insurance covers the land portion of your tour. Airline credit will be returned to you for future use (less airline penalty). If you are interested in the insurance, it is best to purchase it when your deposit is made as all preexisting conditions are waived. However, insurance may be purchased any time up to the point you make your final payment. Insurance cannot be purchased after your final payment is made. Webb Tours is not the insurer and acts as agent for the insurance company. To activate your insurance, we need your premium and your birth date. Travel insurance also includes $2,500 for baggage loss, $500 for baggage delay, up to $50,000 for medical expenses and up to $50,000 for medical evacuation. Currency Fluctuation: Webb Tours reserves the right to adjust the rates if necessary in order to reflect currency fluctuations larger than 10% from those used in our tour price. This is not likely to happen, but we must protect against it. A shift of that magnitude would quickly erase our tour profits. Of course, if the fluctuation moves in the opposite direction, we will reduce your tour price.
