PAGE 2 VIEW DATES, PRICES & BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY HERE Introduction Rich in history, the Mediterranean coast here provides a beautiful backdrop to this action-packed multi-activity adventure family holiday in Turkey. Flying to Dalaman on the Turkish coast opposite the Greek island of Rhodes we transfer to the small town of Dalyan a short drive away. We begin our family adventure with the ancient site of Kaunos, mud baths and a visit a famous beach for breeding endangered loggerhead turtles. Next, we explore the Saklient Canyon, a huge gorge cut out of the mountains high above Fethiye, before finishing off the day with a visit to the Ancient City of Xanthos and the chance of a swim at the amazing Patara Beach. After transferring to Kas, a former fishing village that still retains its charm, we enjoy some sea kayaking looking out for secret coves where we can stop to swim and have lunch. We then get a bird's eye view of the sea from the high mountain village of Gokceoren, as we spend the day walking from Saribelen to the village of Seyrat. The adventure continues with a day of easy mountain biking on the Kas peninsula - climbs and some big downhills, as we ride a mix of tracks through ancient forest. The grand finale of this exceptional itinerary is a boat trip - from the sea we can fully appreciate the dramatic coastline and reflect on the week's adventures. There'll be the chance to swim and snorkel from the boat and to enjoy a barbecue lunch, before returning to Kas for our farewell dinner in one its laid back restaurants. Is this holiday for you? Suitable for children from 12 yrs old With a great mix of activities, this family holiday in Turkey is suitable for those with older children who want an action-packed week with the option for some downtime. Ideal for families who spend a lot of time outdoors. There will be the chance to 'opt out' of the day's activities to indulge in a bit of R&R should anyone wish. Accommodation will be in simple but comfortable 3 star hotels. If you wish to participate in the sea kayaking you must be able to swim unaided for 25m. All safety equipment, including buoyancy aids are provided. Our walk is around 10km on good trails and should take 4-5 hrs. The straightforward mountain biking is a 20km trail mostly on wide forest tracks and some tarmac. Professional guiding, specialist equipment and instruction is included for each of the activities on offer. Holiday Itinerary Day 1: Meet at the group hotel in Dalyan. A single transfer from Dalaman Airport is provided. KE Land only package services begin with a single timed 30 min transfer to the group hotel in Dalyan for the next 2 nights. HOTEL Day 2: Visit ancient town of Kaunos, thermal mud baths, afternoon boat trip to turtle beach. After breakfast we visit the impressive ancient town of Kaunos. Founded in the 9th century BC Kaunos was an important ancient city and sea port. The most famous sight are the King s Tombs which are cut into the rock of a

PAGE 3 cliff face overlooking the Dalyan River. The tombs were hewn by stonemasons 2300 years ago. There are also a well-preserved acropolis, Greek theatre and Roman baths to explore. We then head on to Sultaniye Thermal Waters in Dalyan and cover ourselves in healing mud. We enjoy lunch at one of the river side restaurants before climbing aboard our boat for the afternoon. We travel down the coastline to Iztuzu beach where we find one of the main breeding grounds for the endangered loggerhead turtle. As well as seeing the turtles there is a small museum and centre for us to learn more about this incredible species. We then return to our hotel in Dalyan. Swimming: Available in the sea HOTEL MEALS BLD Day 3: Famous Saklikent Canyon limestone gorge walk. Drive to Kas, via Xanthos and a swim at Patara beach. After breakfast at our hotel, we travel to the nearby Saklikent Canyon, another spectacular limestone gorge that offers us the chance of a short walk with a difference. The walls of the gorge are up to 300 metres high and there is 18 kilometres of gorge to explore. We will make only a short (half hour) walk into one of the more accessible parts of the system, following the river bed, wading in places and sometimes making use of walkways. The canyon provides a cool haven on hot summer days and the water of the Esen River is rarely more than icy cold. Saklikent means 'hidden city' in Turkish and this whole system has only recently been opened up. With its cascading waterfalls and striking rock architecture, this is one of the most striking natural phenomena in the region. After our little adventure, we continue our journey to the ancient city of Xanthos, which was the capital city of the Lycian Federation and dates from as long ago as the 8th century BC. We will also spend some time at the amazing beach of Patara, before checking in at our hotel in Kas. Swimming: Available in the hotel pool & the sea HOTEL WITH SWIMMING POOL MEALS BLD TIME 1-2 HOURS WALKING HOUR Day 4: Sea kayaking. Kayak to Limanagzi beach to swim and picnic. Return to Kas. We meet the sea kayaking team at Big Pebble Beach and are given our equipment for the day on the water - double kayaks, paddles, spraydecks, buoyancy aids and drybags. After a session of instruction learning some paddling techniques and safety skills, we set out into the harbour to practice paddling. We then continue along the isolated Sebeda coast, which is only accessible by boat. From the water, we can get a really good perspective on this dramatic and beautiful coastline. As we kayak to Limanagzi Beach we have magnificent views of tombs that are carved into the rocks on steep hills. We stop at the beach and can swim and snorkel in the turquoise waters. If conditions and skills along in the afternoon we can kayak from Inceburun back to Kas through the open waters. On a lucky day, we can see Mediterranean Monk Seals and Sea Turtles (Caretta caretta). After our kayaking (4-5hrs) we can relax in Kas with its cafes and restaurants spilling out onto cobbled streets and a network of tiny back-alleys. Swimming: Available in the hotel pool & the sea HOTEL WITH SWIMMING POOL MEALS BLD Day 5: Walk along a section of the 'Lycian Walk' from Saribelen to Gokceoren. Return to Kas. As a taste of the excellent walking of the 'Lycian Way' long distance footpath, we will walk the section from Saribelen to Gokceoren. Covering around 10 kilometres, this beautiful walk will take us on country roads and village paths, with the chance to meet local shepherds and their flocks. We will pass weirdly eroded rock

PAGE 4 formations and climb through wheat fields to a grassy plateau, with lots of wild flowers and occasional views down to the blue Mediterranean. There are also a number of ancient ruins on our walk, including rock-cut tombs. After 4 to 5 hours of walking, we reach Gokceoren and transfer back to the hotel in Kas. Swimming: Available in the hotel pool & the sea HOTEL WITH SWIMMING POOL MEALS BLD TIME 4-5 HOURS WALKING HOURS Day 6: Easy mountain biking trip through cedar forest, stopping for a picnic. Return to Kas. A short transfer takes us back up into the mountains to ride the Seyret Trail. We will be fitted with suitable mountain bikes and helmets, before setting off on easy trails through forests of cedar of 3-4hrs. There are a few climbs in between the big downhills and our route provides us with lots of fine views of the Mediterranean and the Kas Peninsula. We will ride for around 20 kilometres, stopping off for a picnic lunch en route. Return to our hotel in Kas. Swimming: Available in the hotel pool & the sea HOTEL WITH SWIMMING POOL MEALS BLD Day 7: Boat trip to Kekova Island, sunken city, BBQ lunch, swimming and snorkelling. Return to Kas Taking a boat trip is a great way to round off this excellent family adventure. A short transfer to the pretty port of Ucagiz where we start our 3-4hr boat trip. We explore across the channel to Kekova Island and the sheltered bay at Tersane where we can stop for a swim. Heading eastwards along the island's coast, we find a sunken city, visible below us through the clear water. Returning to the mainland at the idyllic village of Simena (only accessible by boat) we have a short walk and then pass the famous sarcophagus that stands in the harbour on our way back to Ucagiz. There will be an opportunity for swimming and snorkelling from our boat, and we plan to enjoy a barbecue lunch before returning to Kas. This evening we have a celebratory final meal at the hotel. Swimming: Available in the hotel pool & the sea HOTEL WITH SWIMMING POOL MEALS BLD Day 8: Departure day. A single transfer to Dalaman Airport is provided. A single timed transfer takes us back to Dalaman Airport, where KE Land Only package services end. Flight time permitting we have time for a last swim in the pool or at the beach. This will cover your bar/soft drink bills and a tip for your guide. If you intend to buy expensive souvenirs, you should budget accordingly (credit cards can be useful in this respect). ATM s are available at Dalaman Airport and in Dalyan and in Kas. Credit cards can be used to purchase goods and services in some shops, hotels and restaurants in Turkey. Guidance On Tipping Tips are the accepted way of saying thank you to your local guides and other support staff. They do not form part of their wages. KE always pays local guides the best rates of pay, no matter what country they are in and any tips they receive are seen as a personal thank you from group members. For our part, we advise local teams that tips are not something they should expect, but are a bonus and entirely dependent on the service that was given. We recommend that you give a tip only if you have received satisfactory service. As a rough guide we suggest you allow a total of 80 per family for tipping. Free KE Gift We give you a free gift as a way to thank all our clients who book a KE holiday. Choose from KE T-shirts, buffs, KE trek bags* (where applicable) plus many more. Alternatively you can choose to make a 10 donation to the Juniper Trust Charity. You can make your selection in your My KE account after booking. Baggage Allowance For this holiday you should take one piece of luggage and a daypack. Luggage with wheels is useful for this holiday. For international flights please check your baggage allowance with your airline. Group Size & Holiday Status For each holiday there is a minimum number of participants required to enable it to go ahead. Once the minimum number is reached, the trip status will change from 'Available' to 'Guaranteed to run'. You can check the trip status for each departure in Dates and Prices table. Other than in exceptional circumstances, we will not cancel a trip once it has achieved this guaranteed to run status and so you are free to proceed with your international flight booking and other travel arrangements.

PAGE 7 General Information Passport & Visas A passport with 6 months remaining validity at the end of your stay is generally required for visits to countries outside the EU. The information that we provide is for UK passport holders. Please check the relevant embassy or consulate for other nationalities. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct travel documents and visas for your holiday. Visa requirements and charges are subject to change without notice. If you are travelling outside the EU you should have at least 2 blank pages in your passport for each country that you visit. Visa Turkey All nationalities require a visa. The visa fee is $20 and you need to apply for this online prior to departure at www.evisa.gov.tr. Please download the detailed information document: Visa PDF Turkey. Health & Vaccinations You should contact your doctor or travel clinic to check whether you require any specific vaccinations or other preventive measures. You should be up to date with routine courses and boosters as recommended in the UK e.g. diphtheria-tetanus-polio and measles-mumps-rubella, along with hepatitis A and typhoid. A good online resource is Travel Health Pro. Currency The unit of currency in Turkey is the Turkish Lira. Electricity Supply & Plug We recommend you check if you require an adaptor for your electrical items at: http://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/ Travel Aware As a reputable tour operator, KE supports the British Foreign & Commonwealth Offices' Travel Aware campaign to enable British citizens to prepare for their journeys overseas. The 'Travel Aware' website provides a single, authoritative source of advice for all kinds of travellers and we recommend that prior to travel, all KE clients visit the official UK Government website at travelaware.campaign.gov.uk and read the FCO Travel Advice for their chosen destination. North Americans can also check out the U.S. Department of State website: www.travel.state.gov for essential travel advice and tips. KE treat the safety and security of all clients as the most important aspect of any trip we organise. We would not run any trip that we did not consider reasonably safe. Should the FCO advise against travel for any reason, we will contact everyone booked to travel to discuss the situation. We receive regular updates direct from the FCO and are in constant touch with our contacts on the ground. If you have any questions about government travel advice, please call our office. Climate This part of Turkey enjoys one of the most favourable climates in the Mediterranean with 300 sunshine days a year. April sees an average temperature of 16 ºC, rising to 28 ºC (but can be a lot hotter) by July and August, 21 ºC in

PAGE 8 October and returning to a still pleasant 16 ºC in November. The Mediterranean sea breezes keep the temperature comfortable on the coast or when on the sea. Evenings are cooled by a soft westerly wind known locally as the Dokkun. While the Lycian summer is essentially 9 months long, short-lived storms (sometimes with thunder and heavy rain) can occur at any time of the year. Flight Information Flight Inclusive Or Land Only? On our website we display a UK Flight inclusive package price and Land only package price for the majority of our holidays. Land Only Notes We sell this holiday on a Land Only basis and recommend that you book your flights to Dalaman Airport which is close to Dalyan and Kas. Please refer to the 'Joining arrangements and transfers' for further details. Flights SHOULD NOT be booked until you have received your booking confirmation and the departure is showing 'Guaranteed to Run' or 'Limited'. If flying from the UK there are a number of low cost airlines offering flights to Dalaman. These include Easyjet who have flights from London & Manchester, Thomson Airways who have flights from London, Manchester and Glasgow and Thomas Cook who have flights from London, Leeds Bradford and Glasgow. Other airports maybe available. If you would prefer to book a 'flight inclusive package' using scheduled airlines from the UK please contact our flights department for a quote. Whilst flight prices are likely to be more expensive you will benefit from full financial protection. Flight Options From The US For help and advice with booking your flights, we recommend you consult our friends at Exito Travel, airfare specialists since 1994. The air team at Exito are familiar with our destinations and know the airports, best airlines and potential pitfalls. If there is ever a flight change, cancellation or air-related issue before or during your travels, it's nice to know you have someone on the Exito air team looking after you. Visit their website at: www.exitotravel.com or contact the team on: keadventure@exitotravel.com &/or via phone at: 800.655.4053 ext. 8507. Why Choose KE Adventure Travel? Why Choose KE Adventure Travel? Experience KE has 34 years experience of adventure travel worldwide. All of our holidays are accompanied by an experienced leader, some of whom have worked with KE groups for many years. Many are professional guides and instructors with an unrivalled knowledge of the areas in which they work. In many parts of the world, we recruit local guides with appropriate training and experience. In addition to having the technical skills to ensure your safety, KE expects its leaders to be active members of the group. A leader should be fun to travel with and ready to share with you their enthusiasm for adventure travel and their knowledge of the area. Alongside the group leader, there will be a local support crew, which could be just a driver, or a complete team of guides, drivers, porters, mule-

PAGE 9 herders and cooks. The hard work of our support crews, along with the fascinating insight they can offer into their local culture, is integral to providing you with the very best adventure travel experience. The team of KE office staff is amongst the most experienced in the business, with the proven ability to set up and operate a worldwide programme of adventures. Every one has adventure travel at heart and joins at least one trip a year. It is this depth of experience that makes KE stand out from other adventure travel operators. When you contact KE, by phone or e-mail, or visit our office, you will find the help and advice you need, from someone who has actually done the trip and can give you the benefit of their first-hand experience. KE can guarantee the very best in trek support, excellent food, a good standard of hotel and camp accommodation, plus the back up of one of the most respected companies in the business. Client satisfaction is at the top of our agenda and almost 50% of our bookings each year come from repeat business. If you are looking for adventure then look no further than KE. RESPONSIBLE TOURISM AND AWARDS Responsible Tourism has always fitted naturally with KEs travel ethic. It is important to us that our clients are not the only beneficiaries of the travel experience, but that we share a two-way relationship with the areas that we visit. We make sure that our local staff are well treated and well paid, we respect indigenous cultures, take care to protect the environment and make the most of every opportunity to make a positive contribution wherever we travel. In addition to holding an AITO 5-star Sustainable Tourism rating, we are recipients of AITO s Achievement in Sustainable Tourism Award in recognition of the work carried out over the past 20 years, giving back to the communities and areas we visit. We have been awarded Highly Commended status in the Best Tour Operator category of the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards, and were named Best Trekking Operator on Earth by National Geographic Magazine, whose criteria included commitment to responsible tourism. We continue to travel responsibly, and more information on our policy, practice, and specific projects can be found at www.keadventure.com, and on the website of our partner charity the Juniper Trust: www.junipertrust.co.uk. KEs Mountain Code is issued to our staff, trek leaders and overseas agents, and we recommend it to our clients, too! Your Complete Financial Protection KE Adventure Travel is a fully licensed and bonded tour operator. We are a member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), bonded with the CAA (ATOL 2808) and ABTA licensed (W4341). You can book your trip with KE Adventure Travel in complete confidence that all monies you pay for a trip are fully protected. BOOKING YOUR HOLIDAY Making a Booking The easiest way to make your booking is online. You will need to pay a deposit at the time of booking. This is normally 200 but for some holidays with special permit fees or internal flights, this may be more. The amount of deposit required for an individual holiday is given on the dates and prices page of the holiday. Late bookings will require full payment. We cannot confirm any booking until we receive your fully completed booking form. Adventure Travel Insurance IMPORTANT - It is a condition of joining any of our trips that you are insured against medical and personal accident risks (to include repatriation costs, air ambulance and helicopter rescue services). We also strongly

PAGE 10 recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance, as all deposits paid are non-refundable. Please ensure that your insurer is aware of your KE Adventure itinerary and can agree to cover the activities being undertaken. You will then need to advise us of your policy details and complete an Insurance Declaration Form. CAMPBELL IRVINE DIRECT travel insurance is available to EU residents and will cover the majority of KE Adventure holidays. It has been designed to provide cover for activities normally excluded by other insurers such as trekking, mountain biking and climbing. Please note that certain activities may attract a higher premium. In addition Campbell Irvine Direct cannot provide cover for KE climbing trips above 6000m. Cover for these can be obtained through either the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) or Snowcard. TRAVELEX is a USA based insurer offering travel insurance, which can be used by US citizens and US residents only. KE recommends the "Travelex Select" package for our holidays. If your holiday involves using mountaineering equipment (ropes, harness or crampons), for climbing or glacial travel, you should consider the "Adventure Plus Pak" optional upgrade on the Travelex Select Plan. Please refer to the 'Description of Coverage' for a summary of the terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations of the applicable Protection Plan. This policy will also cover KE climbing trips above 6000m. We hope that this trip notes has answered most of your questions. Please feel free to contact us and speak to one of our experts.
