Follow exit NR355 Nieuwpot /Diksmuide direction Nieuwpot N39. At first traffic lights, turn right, direction Nieuwpot stad. At second traffic lights, drive straight on. At third traffic lights, turn right, direction Oostende. Follow the sign Binnenhaven up to traffic lights. Turn right, direction Lombardsijde/Westende N318 and turn right again after only 50m direction Oudenburg N358 (keeping monument of King Albert I at your right). About 200 meters further, cross the bridge and turn left, direction Oudenburg N358. Follow this road about 1 km and you will see the base at your left. From Zeebrugge: Leave Zeebrugge direction Brugge (N31) up to the junction A10-E40/A17. Take A10-E40 direction Oostende. Veurne up to the junction A18/A10. Take A18 direction of Veurne. Leave A18 at exit 5 (Gistel/Oostende Airpt) and drive direction Oostende on the N33. After about 2 km take direction Nieuwpot. You are on the N358 along the Canal Plassendale-Nieuwpot. After about 10 km, you drive over the bridge above the Sint-Jis lock, and after 100 m, turn right to the base.
From Brussels: Following the E40 through Gent Brugge. After Brugge at Jabbeke following the E40 direction Veurne/Nieuwpot. At the exit NR355 direction of Nieuwpot/Diksmuide direction Nieuwpot N39 see above. FERRIES The following ferry companies operate to pts nearby. YOUR ARRIVAL BASE OPENING HOURS Monday Saturday: 09:00-12:00 13:00-17:00 Sunday: CLOSED WHEN TO ARRIVE: Your boat will be ready to depart f 16:00-17:30. We recommend that you arrive 60 minutes earlier f check-in and instructions. If you have booked an Early Check-in Service, please arrive at the base ready to depart between 11am and 12pm from 2pm. LATE ARRIVALS: If you are going to be arriving at the base late, please call the base manager, Yvan Halsberghe, on his mobile phone Tel: 0032 495 24 32 95 and he will arrange to meet you. The pt closes at 17:00 and there is no access to the jetty without a special code and key, which the base manager has. You will be able to stay on board your boat in the evening and a full briefing will take place the following mning. UPON ARRIVAL: Our base staff look fward to welcoming you to their cruising region and aim to make your arrival and holiday as smooth and enjoyable as possible. When you arrive base staff will: Take a fuel deposit to cover the fuel you use during your holiday. Any extra fuel used will be charged on your return we will refund the difference f fuel you have not used. Take a refundable collision damage deposit if you have not purchased collision damage waiver. This will be refunded if you return your boat and its inventy undamaged at the end of your holiday Familiarise you with your waterways guide, maps and other helpful documentation provided to help you plan where you want to go and where you d like to stop. Brief you about your boat, the equipment on board, and the cruising area. Give you a boat handling demonstration on the water with one of our technicians. SHOPS The town centre of Nieuwpot is approx 2km from the base and has several shops, restaurants and cafes etc. Details f the essential shops can be obtained by calling the base pri to arrival.
TOURIST OFFICE Belft - Botermarkt 17A 01/04 31/10: 09.30 till 18.30 hrs 01/11 31/03: 09.30 till 16.30 hrs MOBILE PHONES In Belgium most of the locks and bridges are manned. Some of the bridge keepers operate several bridges and may not be on their bridge at the time of your arrival. To get around Brugge, you have to get in touch by phone with the people who operate the whole system of bridges and locks around Brugge from a central control. If you do not have your own mobile phone have a phone, which does not wkabroad, you can rent one at the base. You must pay f the cost of all calls. The base will supply the phone with cards and the credit on the card is checked at departure and arrival. You will be asked to pay on return f what has been used. FISHING Fishing is allowed. A Fishing Permit is required (not f under 16's) and can be purchased from the local post office.
