Natural naval harbour of the Byzantines named as Golden Horn because of its hornlike shape and golden reflection of the glittering waves under sunshine when viewed from the hill tops. Visit the Patriarchate at Fener which is the seat of Orthodox Christianity since Constantine The Great s declaration of Christianity as the religion of Roman Empire. Church of Panagia of Blachernae, the best known and most celebrated shrine of the Holy Virgin famed with the Hagiasma (holy water) and the Hagion Lousma (sacred bath). St. Savior in Chora (Kariye Museum), originally a Byzantine monastery with fantastic mosaics and frescoes portraying scenes from the bible, the life and miracles of Jesus. Anemas Dungeons were part of the Blachernae Palace, unique in the world with its historical and architectural structure. It consists of 14 separate dungeons, each having 2 basements below sea-level with cells for the prisoners and two towers. It was used as a prison for high ranked statesmen. Tekfur Palace (from outside) built in the 12th century adjacent to the city walls. The only surviving pavillion of the Blachernae Palace. Byzantine City Walls surrounded the acropolis of Byzantium with 22 kms. long fortification with 96 towers and 9 main gates dating back to the 5th century. 5

GOLDEN HORN (Eyüp Sultan Mosque & Tomb + Pierre Loti Coffee House + Miniaturk) Rate: 45 EUR (VAT included) per pax HALF DAY TOUR / AFTERNOON (Minimum 6 pax is required) To embrace sharp harmony and historic curiosities in the most sacred site of İstanbul Eyüp Sultan Mosque and his Tomb are the most sacred sites in İstanbul after Mecca and Jerusalem where thousands of faithful people visit everday. Eyüp-El-Ensari was the flagbearer of Prophet Mohammed and died here during the Arabic siege of the city in the 7th century. The old trees, pigeons, praying believers and the visiting crowd create a mystical and colorful atmosphere around the mosque. Teleferique to Pierre Loti Coffee House among the green which is located on a hill with beautiful trees where you can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the Golden Horn. Bird s eye view of the Golden Horn with the teleferique (cable car) while climbing to the café, 550 beeline meters in 115 seconds. The coffee house takes its name from Pierre Loti, the French author and poet who was very fond of İstanbul and wrote as he sat in this coffee house while enjoying the view. Miniatürk, a story land, the most influencing open field miniature park exhibiting scaled models of the most known masterpieces which create a fairy tale environment of İstanbul, Anatolia and the former Ottoman territories. It reflects the revival of Turkish culture and history in all its magnificence. Countless human figure models situated throughout the park such as a railroad worker, Muslims in a mosque courtyard, Jews praying in a synagogue, flower seller etc., portray lifestyle of the society through ages. You will mostly enjoy the colorful shopping center where you may find the best souvenirs from İstanbul. 6

TOUR PROGRAMME DAY 1 Meet with our English speaking assistance and transfer to airport for the flight to Cappadocia. Upon arrival meet with our English speaking guide and start discovering the region. After visits, drive to your hotel for overnight. Kaymakli Underground City: Kaymakli is one of the largest underground cities in Cappadocia with eight stories. It covers an area of approximately 4 km2 /1.5sq mi. Visitors can see only about 10% of the city by going down a maximum of five floors.the populations of Kaymakli is thought to have been about 3000. 7

3 DAYS CAPPADOCIA TOUR (Continuation) DAILY & PRE / POST CONGRESS TOURS Pigeon Valley: Here you will see where the Pigeons and hear of how they were used to help the people. Some examples where to send messages and to fertilize the grapes. Also you will see wonderful panoramic view. Uchisar Rock Castle: Uchisar is the name of town and the fortress in the town.the name of the town probably derives form the name of the fortress. Uc is tip, This 60 mt. high ( 200ft ) fortress was not built but carved out of a natural hill dominating the area with a breathtaking view of all the surrounding Cappadocian formations. Esentepe Panorama: This is the best panoramic viewpoint from which to see complete view of Goreme Village; fairy chimneys, rock formations and cave houses. Rose Valley: Is an isolated valley behind Urgup. It has beautiful rock formations with some great hidden rock-carved churches. The most interesting part of this area is the countless tracks connecting the small villages and towns through vineyards and gardens like a spider net. It is always possible to see villagers working in the area and offering grapes, apples or apricots to you. DAY 2 Optional hot air balloon ride early in the morning. Traveling at heights of up to 1500 feet, the feeling is one of peace and tranquility. The earth slowly descends and rotates below you. Within moments after lifting off you become at ease while you effortlessly drift over the treetops and the spectacular Cappadocian landscape. It is like a dream to gently float over the countryside in complete harmony with your surroundings. The ride ends at your hotel at approx. 08:30 so you will have time to refresh and join the tour during the day. Goreme Open Air Museum: Goreme was known, in the ancient times as Korama. The first references to it are in the early 7th Acts of St.Hieron, a 3rd C. Saint who was a native of Matianoi, or the modern Maccan. Goreme is an amphitheatre of sample portions surrounded by steep cliffs leading to a pleasant, verdant valley, which puzzles every single visitor, by the interesting access to many of the caves.the place we refer as the Goreme Open Air Museum is located in a small part of the whole valley and right next door to the modern village of Goreme. It is famous with its monastic complex of rock churches and chapel covered with frescoes. Zelve Valley: Fairy chimneys with multiple stems and caps can be found here, this style being unique to this area. A chapel dedicated to St. Simeon and a hermit s shelter is built into one such fairy chimney with three heads. 8

3 DAYS CAPPADOCIA TOUR (Continuation) DAILY & PRE / POST CONGRESS TOURS Devrent Valley: Devrent is one km. from Zelve Valley. The ruins at Devrent are spread over three valleys, which also house several pointed fairy chimneys with large stems. Cavusin Village: One of the oldest settlements in the area, Cavusin is satiated 2 km. from Goreme, on the Goreme-Avanos road. The Church of St.John the Baptist offers a panoramic view of the village. The church and its paintings date back to the 5th century, making the oldest church in the region. It had a large courtyard which is unusual for Cappadocia, this has been eroded away however. Avanos: A center of terra cotta work of art since 3000 BC., it is a town you will be invited to visit a traditional pottery workshop, which is possibly set deep into the hillsides. The clay, which comes from the Red River passing through the town gives life both to the land and to the local economy. After the tour, return back to hotel for overnight. DAY 3 After breakfast and check-out, drive to airport for the flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. 9
