The Large Hotel Award This award is open for any hotel and accommodation that has over 35 bedrooms in its vicinity, but it s not just about the number of bedrooms. 2. The Small Hotel Award This category is open to hotels and accommodation providers with less than 35 bedrooms, which also includes Bed and Breakfast. It is aimed at hotels where breakfast is available, though not necessarily dinner. 3. The Self-Catering Accommodation Award This category is BRAND NEW for 2018 and celebrates accommodation that provides a welcoming stay for visitors to the area. This award is for touring and camping pitches, glamping, caravan sites, holiday lettings, holiday parks, lodges, chalets and any unique accommodation that is self-catered and provides an excellent place to stay when you visit the area. 4. The Specialist Dining Experience Award The Specialist Dining Experience Award is aimed at establishments that have a unique twist to their dining experience. From vegetarian restaurants, themed restaurants, special dietary dining, or unique dining environments, we welcome anyone with an exclusive concept to their dining experiences. 4. The International Cuisine Experience Award
This category seeks to explore the exotic tastes right here in Bournemouth and Poole. Bournemouth and Poole are proud to celebrate its multicultural community, and it s the international restaurants that often draw the tourism crowd in. 6. The Family Eating Experience Award Appealing to cafés, restaurants, fast food outlets, festivals, hotels and accommodation providers; this award aims to show how food spans all generations bringing them together. Open to anyone who provides an exceptional family eating experience be it breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or an evening meal this category is all about content, presentation, personality and flair, going above and beyond the expectations of the customer. 7. Best Retail Experience Award Best Retail Experience Award Recognising Customer Service excellence in the retail sector and the importance of retail tourism as an attraction. 8. The Green Initiative Award A young award that was bought in only last year, the Green Initiative Award is for any innovative project or business that has a creative mind behind the scenes which has established a green thinking policy to their activities. 9. The Great Time Out Award We re calling upon all enterprises that host unique, thrilling and popular experiences that gives everyone the perfect excuse to get out the house and have some fun! This includes businesses within a 50 mile radius of Bournemouth and Poole. 10. BAPTAs Best Night Out Award This category is open to operators who provide a great night out experience! As the title implies this is likely to be a venue appealing to the mature audience, but may not necessarily be an exclusively Night Time Venue. This includes businesses within a 50 mile radius of Bournemouth and Poole. 11. The Creative Concept of the Year Award This category is for any tourism operator who has realised and implemented an idea during the period from January 2017 to December 2017. This may be the introduction of a new product or experience. This may be a departure from your mainstream business by diversifying from or adding to the offer. It may be a reevaluation of the delivery of the business or it may be the implementation of a tourism solution new to the resort or even the whole market! This includes businesses within a 50 mile radius of Bournemouth and Poole. 12. The Unsung Hero Award This category recognises individuals from the front line of the industry who consistently demonstrate an above and beyond attitude to the development of tourism and customer service and, as a result, the reputation of the resort as a whole! Nominations from trade members and stakeholders are also invited. This includes businesses within a 50 mile radius of Bournemouth and Poole. 13. Transport Delivery Award This category recognises an individual working within the Transport sector who has gone the extra mile to deliver an outstanding visitor experience for their customers on a day to day basis it s all about attitude! Aimed at those who transport visitors around the town or who regularly bring visitors into the area on public transport, by taxi on excursions and the like. Often providing the first and last impression of the resort, and therefore having a major
impact on the reputation of the resort as a whole. This includes businesses within a 50 mile radius of Bournemouth and Poole. 14. The Education Award This award category recognises individuals and organisations who have demonstrated excellence working, studying or supplying the Education sector. This includes businesses within a 50 mile radius of Bournemouth and Poole. 15. BAPTAs Best Breakfast Award This category is open to any establishment that includes breakfast amongst its food offering from smoothies to continental and breakfast rolls or a full English, Voting will be pro-rata depending on the number of covers available or size of premises if take away. 16. BAPTAs Rising Star Award This category recognises individuals from the Tourism & catering sectors who consistently demonstrate an above and beyond attitude towards customer service and is making a difference through their career. Nominations from the public, trade members and stakeholders are invited. 17. The Bar Personality Of The Year Award This category is open to any person that serves mixed drinks as a minimum, it is all about your personality and how you treat your patrons, your customers, friends and family can all vote for you but remember we will be monitoring where the votes come from! 18. The Afternoon Tea Award This category is open to any establishment that includes Afternoon Tea amongst its food offerings, voting will be pro-rata depending on the number of covers available, so don t forget to mention voting for your establishment when you give your customers their bill. 19. New Business of the Year Award (New!) This award is brand new for the BAPTAs this year and celebrates the most innovative and new tourism businesses in Bournemouth and Poole. Thank you for your time.
