Welcome back to the Monograms Booking Agent Program. We hope module 3 showed you Monograms operates in the real world and in a particular our examples throughout Europe Now moving on to our goal for this module, to be able to answer this question: how does Monograms operate in their exotic locations?? 1
In this module, Traveling with Monograms: Exotics. we will discuss that your clients can enjoy Monograms outside of Europe because Monograms operates all across the world and this module will tell you everything you need to know on how she operates. 2
Let s do a quick recap and review. In our third MBA module, you learned about Monograms Europe travel packages and how Monograms delivers just the right amount of independence in each destination. We walked through 2 Monograms packages. We discussed the role of the local host and how they are like having a personal travel concierge. They are exclusive to Monograms and make every vacation regardless of destination, one to remember. 3
Next up, in our exotic destinations: South & Central America, Africa, Asia and the South Pacific we offer Multi-City packages., as well as city-stays. In these destinations, there s more value in included elements, so depending on the destination more meals, sightseeing and excursions may be included to maximize your clients experience. Like in Africa for example. But more on that later. These truly are independent tours. 4
Now let s go ahead and talk about how amazing city stays can really be. Maybe you have a client that wants a few unique cities that we don t have a combo for? these are a wonderful option. Or maybe you have that cruise client who is looking for a better pre or post cruise option in cities across the world? What about that business traveler who wants to extend for a bit of personal time? the possibilities are endless. City getaways are not to be underestimated. They include the same wonderful Monograms value of a local host, hotels and included sightseeing just at a little shorter length. Let s take a look at some getaways in Asia: TOKYO BEIJING HONG KONG BANGKOK SINGAPORE DUBAI 5
In the south pacific we have: 6
And new for South America in 2017, we have: So don t forget about these getaways they are very versatile and a wonderful option for both you and your clients. 7
Here s what you need to know, specifically about our Exotics destinations. - These packages truly act like independent tours, with total variety in the number of nights in each city. - Your clients will get breakfast every morning and on our South America and Africa packages, additional meals may be included -And again, with language and logistical barriers, a Local Host in each city is a must the one caveat to that is the South Pacific without the language barrier, only providing Local Host in start city - And finally, here is just a sales note, that as a future MBA, you should know South America Monograms sales are nearly as much as Globus think there is a market for packaged independent travel? That tells us the answer is a resounding yes! 8
Again we take a peek inside. Same content and layout, but because in South America we have so many different cities/destinations you can add on to the core Monograms package, we also clearly outline all the options for your clients right here on the right hand side. So much like the Monograms vacation varies by destination, so too do our brochures cater to the destination nuances to help you clearly define the inclusions and options available to your clients. 9
Let s roll up our sleeves, or rather sit back and watch how the experts rolled up their sleeves to craft a few of our vacations. We ll take a look at 3 Monograms packages to show you the subtle but essential differences and explain how and WHY the design works in each destination. We ll also share our top vacation packages in each portfolio. Reminder about Globus vs Monograms. Monograms is organized but not too structured no coach, and you are not traveling as a group! Now let s continue to South America. While our exotics portfolio includes Central & South America, Africa, Asia and the South Pacific, by far our top selling package is Peru Highlights. So I m going to let it be the poster child for how we do exotics, Monograms style. When you consider how complex a country like Peru is to book as FIT and for your clients to navigate while there, you won t believe how easy we make it for both you and your clients. Come along. Most flights from the US are going to arrive in Lima late in the evening. Your clients 10
will be tired, and landing in a Spanish speaking country. No chances for trip drama there, yeah right. But not with Monograms. The Local Host will be in the lobby of the airport, after your clients get their luggage and get through customs. And they will be treated to a private (aka just for Monograms clients) transfer either by sedan or van. The Local Host will facilitate their hotel check in, and your clients bags will be taken to their room. And then it s night. 10
Day 2 good morning Lima! After an included breakfast, your clients will meet the Local Host in the lobby of the hotel at approx 8:45am for sightseeing via motorcoach or walking. It is shared sightseeing with other travelers. Sightseeing will begin at 9 am and last approximately 3 ½ hours. Visits include San Francisco, Plaza de Armas with picture stops at Love Park, Miraflores, and San Isidro. Upon return to their hotel, a little past noon, your clients will have the remainder of the day to enjoy Lima as they wish. The Local Host can make recommendations or facilitate the purchase of optional excursions. 11
Day 3 breakfast is included again & your clients will enjoy a transfer by private van to the airport for a flight to Cusco. The Local Host will accompany them to the airport and provide any instruction necessary to navigate the check-in and boarding process. Upon arrival in Cusco, your clients will again meet their new Local Host in the airport, who will be holding a sign with your clients name. They will then be transferred again by private van, to their Cusco hotel, approximately 20 minutes away. At the hotel, the Local Host will oversee your clients check in, as their bags are taken to their room. She will tell them to meet in the lobby at approximately 1:15 pm for the included sightseeing. The sightseeing takes 3 ½ hours, and is conducted by van with a Local Guide. They will visit the city of Cusco s highlights, including the Cathedral, Koricancha (Coreycanka), Sascayhuman (socks-ah-hwaman) and Kenko. They will be back at the hotel before 5 pm and will have the evening to enjoy historic Cusco as they wish. 12
Day 4 After breakfast, your clients will enjoy an included excursion to Pisac and Ollantaytambo (olie on tay tambo). Travelers will be picked up in the lobby at 9:00am for their included sightseeing. The first stop will be Pisac which is a small village home to one of the largest Indian markets in the area. After an included lunch, continue to Ollantaytambo (olie on tay tambo) to see some of the best preserved ancient Incan ruins. Learn about what life was like here when this city once thrived almost 500 years ago. This is a full day excursion taking 8 hours. They will arrive at their Sacred Valley hotel around 5 pm. 13
Day 5 breakfast again & then your clients make their way to the crowning moment of their vacation Machu Picchu. The Local Host will meet them in the hotel lobby at 8:45am for a 9am departure. They ll take a van to Ollanta and then the train which takes approximately 1.5 hours, to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. A light snack is included on the train. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the guide will take the group to board the bus that will take them to the ruins of Machu Picchu. Your clients will enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, the guide will take the group into the ruins for a guided tour lasting approximately 2 ½ hours. Machu Picchu is a 6 hour excursion that is shared with other travelers. The day ends with a bus trip back down the mountain to Aguas Calientes (30 minutes) where your hotel is located. That evening, at their hotel in Aguas Calientes, they will enjoy an included dinner. 14
Day 6 After breakfast, Monograms includes a re-entry ticket to Machu Picchu, unguided. They will have the morning to enjoy Machu Picchu as they wish. And then in the early afternoon, the Local Host will meet them at their hotel in Aguas Calientes and escort them to the train station. From here they will take the train for 3 hours. At the train station, the Local Host will meet them for their private van transfer to Cusco. There, they ll have another night at leisure to enjoy Cusco. 15
Day 7 and it s time to return to Lima (after breakfast of course). The Local Host will meet them in the hotel lobby 1 ½ hours before the flight. They ll have a private transfer to the airport. The flight is approx 1 hour, 10 minutes. Then they ll meet up with their Lima Local Host holding a sign with their name and they ll have a private transfer back to their Lima hotel via van. 16
Day 8 Last day in Lima and Peru! 3 hours before the flight, the Local Host will meet them in the hotel lobby and take them to the airport for their international flight, ensuring they are fully versed on the check-in process. And if your clients had been feeling a bit more adventurous they could have further customized this vacation with the extension options: Amazon, Arequipa & Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, or Chiclayo & Trujillo. Four cities, six transfers, two entries into Machu Picchu and countless memories. All in one remarkable vacation. Now tell me, would you really have wanted to organize that all yourself? And would you even come close to making a $1,000 in commission? This is your chance to get honest with yourself about where you need to be spending your time. 17
The scope of our exotics portfolio is immense. I want to remind you that when you consider the language and logistical barriers that exist in these exotic destinations, and if you have clients that simply are not going to tour, Monograms is the only choice for you and your clients. They get on trip support and you get to book amazingly complex packages in minutes. Our top selling package in Africa is the South African Sojourn - now keep in mind with our African packages, your clients will have a Local Guide with them during all private game drives, which will be conducted by private safari vehicles. And there are some really amazing lodges and tented camps you can upgrade your clients to. Our top seller in Asia is Flavors of Vietnam & Cambodia and in the South Pacific, the Australian Escape. And remember, if you ever start to wonder about what s included by destination, just go to that first page of the destination in the brochure. We spell it out there and on the itinerary pages. 18
As you ve learned, Monograms operates like a well oiled machine in our exotic locations as well, from getting your clients to their inside visits to included breakfast daily.
