The perfect balance between polar functionality and luxury camp comfort. Bedroom Pod En Suite Rick Garratt Guest Shower Pod Whichaway camp is totally unique and the perfect base from which to start your adventure. There are six state-of-the-art sleeping pods that are heated and designed for two people in each. At just over 6m (20ft) in diameter, they are also spacious, with a writing desk, wash area and toilet. For guests travelling separately, the room can be partitioned for privacy.
Whichaway Camp Reception Guest Sitting Room The rest of the camp comprises a shower pod, kitchen and three centralised pods that make up the reception, lounge and dining room. While the exterior is made from cutting edge materials, the interior has an old-world feel with rich textures. Here you can relax, enjoy the fantastic food from our award-winning chef and take things easy.
Guest Dining Room The dining table accommodates 14 people, a space for sharing adventures and enjoying great food. full itinerary DAY before departure White Desert will host a safety briefing in Cape Town. This is where we will check all your polar clothing and prepare you for your flight south. I loved the experience from start to finish. The guides were excellent and made me feel I could do anything I wanted too. White Desert camp was just perfect, relaxed, homely and cosy. For me, Antarctica was the most amazing and beautiful experience and I can t imagine any place or thing will ever match it. Denise Eva, Ireland DAY one DAY two DAY three DAY four The flight to Antarctica is 5.5hrs, crossing the thousands of icebergs spread over the Southern Ocean. Halfway through the flight we cross into the polar circle and into 24hrs continuous daylight. Landing on the specialist ice runway, you will be surrounded by the Wolf s Fang range, a true spectacle of the continent. We spend the afternoon amongst kilometer high monoliths of rock, before connecting to Whichaway Camp. Wake up at Whichaway Camp and do as much or as little as you like each day. Activities can be as easy and gentle or adventurous and adrenaline-fuelled. Take time out to put a brush to canvas or learn to rock climb on a nearby Nunatak mountain. The choice is up to you. We explore the Schirmacher Oasis a rare stretch of terra firma surrounded on all sides by the ice cap of Antarctica. Visit a nearby science base to learn more about the research and work happening in the world of discovery. After a hearty breakfast prepared by our chefs, we board the final flight that will cross the Drygalski Mountains to the Wolf s Fang runway. A final champagne celebration will be prepared to salute your unforgettable trip to the last great wilderness on earth.
