Then, head to the Pablo Seminario Ceramic Studio where you ll get first hand knowledge on this internationally renowned artist's techniques and designs, inspired by ancient Peruvian cultures. THINGS TO KNOW Tour Activity Level To truly experience the programme and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as longer walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs and periods of standing. Some of the touring days may be longer, with select included activities occurring later in the evening. Travel Tips Ecuador is on EST, and Peru and Galapagos are one hour behind. Highest elevation included on tour 11,200 feet above sea level, in Cuzco. The currency in Ecuador is the US Dollar and in Peru is the nuevo sol. Ecuador is on 110/120 volts, onboard ship, the cabins feature 110 volt, and Peru is on 220 volt. To truly experience the tour and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as longer walking tours and climbing stairs. Electricity An adaptor (which changes the physical plug) and/or converter (which changes the electric current) are necessary if you plan to use an appliance with voltage different from the standard within the country you are visiting. All voltage in Ecuador is 110/120 V/60 Hz and uses 2 or 3 prong flat plugs (US style). Onboard ship, the cabins feature 110 volt current. Peru is on 220V/60Hz and uses 2 prong round or flat plugs. When packing your electronic items for travel, please review the converter electric current level to make sure it the same or greater than the items you are planning on using. If you plan on utilising or transporting a sleep apnea machine, please remember to pack an extension cord & adapter plug to ensure proper function. Time Zone Ecuador and Peru are 5 hours behind GMT. Galapagos Islands are 6 hours behind GMT. Elevation The highest elevation encountered on this tour is approx. 3,810 metres in Cuzco. Quito is 2,850 metres above sea level. Seven days of this tour are spent at 2,286 metres above sea level. If you have particular health concerns, we recommend you check with your doctor before departure for recommendations on how to alleviate the possible effects of altitude sickness. It is highly recommended to stay hydrated in order to adjust to the altitude levels. Please contact your local travel clinic for altitude sickness medicine as well.
