CAN YOU HELP??? We re looking for copies of old photos, magazine or newspaper articles, old company newsletters, correspondence, anything, etc., regarding the history of the airport. We re trying to fill in the gaps with what we already have in our archives so things are more complete. We d also like to have something solid for future presentations regarding the airport s history. We already have the book Pilots, Pinballs and Politics. But do you, or anyone you may know, have any historical information on the airport to share with us? We d certainly appreciate any historical information we can get. So, let s bring out those old photo albums, dig through those dusty old boxes, and ask your friends and family that have been around here forever, to help out with this project let s see how much historical data we can come up with together. P A G E 3 IMPORTANT HANGAR SAFETY REMINDERS Storage of flammables is limited to five (5) gallons in a properly certified, closed and labeled container. Fuel transfers of all types are prohibited in the T-Hangars. Aircraft fuel tank fillers and fuel tank vents must be at least fifty feet from any structure when fuel is transferred into or out of aircraft fuel tanks. Hangar floors may not be covered with any flammable materials including carpeting, vinyl, etc. Painting in or around the hangars is prohibited. No welding, grinding or any other activity that creates ignition sources is permitted. T-Hangars are limited in electrical current capacity to 15 amps. This will not support appliances that draw high electrical current, such as large air compressors, air conditioners, etc. No alterations, additions, wiring modifications or improvements shall be made without the written permission of the Executive Director. All hangar wiring modifications must be performed with a city building permit and completed by a licensed electrician. Permanent light fixtures should not be installed in hangars that do not have permanent power. Battery chargers may not be left on and unattended. IT S A BIRD IT S A PLANE NOPE IT S A DRONE! Before you take that drone out for a flight, check out http://knowbeforeyoufly.org. This website provides information to the public on what they need to know before they use/fly a drone. The paragraphs below were copied from the website: Know Before You Fly is an education campaign founded by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), and the Small UAV Coalition in partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to educate prospective users about the safe and responsible operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). As excitement and enthusiasm continues to grow around UAS, and the regulatory framework continues to take shape, more consumers are looking to buy UAS for personal use and more businesses are looking to use UAS too. These prospective operators want to fly, and fly safely, but many don t realize that, just because you can buy a UAS, doesn t mean you can fly it anywhere, or for any purpose. Know Before You Fly provides prospective users with the information and guidance they need to fly safely and responsibly.
