WELCOMEEE! Dear IFMSA family, On behalf of IFMSA-Serbia, it is a great pleasure to invite you to the fifth edition of SECSE which will be held in Serbia, Zlatibor from 12 th to 16 th October. First of all, I would really love to thank to all 'SECSE NORAs' for voting and electing IFMSA-Serbia to be this year's host for SECSE, for the second time. Also, I owe a huge appreciation for my NMO for all the support during the application itself, and having enough trust in me, and giving me the honor to be the head of the OC team. As we were very satisfied by an amazing time we had two years ago, we just needed to apply and go for it again. OC team is already working very hard, and we will use all the previous knowledge, motivation and passion to make SECSE 2017 the best and one of the most thrilling experience in your life. Since the main goal of SECSE is the method exchange, please start the preparation of methods which you use in your NMO, and send them to us on time, so we can create the best possible conditions for your presentation. Let our voices be heard! Let s make a change, even today, and let the red SCORA spirit be always with YOU!!! Thank you for your time checking this booklet out, and I am really looking forward to seeing you in Serbia. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime by sending me e-mail to - NORA@ifmsa-serbia.org. Warmest regards, Emre Čičo, Head of OC and NORA of IFMSA-Serbia

SECSE SECSE - Southern European Cooperation on Sexual Education is a subregional meeting which brings all SCORA enthusiasts to one place where they can, during 5 days, share the teaching methods, the ideas and the networks that each country uses on their peer-education projects. This will be the fifth SECSE meeting, and the second time Serbia hosting it. We are really happy and grateful for giving us again the opportunity to organize this amazing event where we will gather up to 70 students mostly from Southern part of Europe, and where we will, beside hard working during the day, have an amazing time afterwards. During these days, each SECSE delegation will hold a method exchange session. These sessions are born so the present countries can show their peer-education techniques, their biggest achievements, but also problems they are facing and how they eventually solved it so everyone can learn something from them. Besides the method exchange we also have theme events, and this year they will be closely related to Comprehensive sexuality education. Experts in this field will come and share their distinguished knowledge with us, where we will have an opportunity to openly ask them everything we have in our minds. Also, SECSE is all about bounding, socializing and having great time, so social program is also an implicit part of the meeting. SECSE 2015 in Serbia

METHOD EXCHANGE SESSIONS In the modern times that we are all living in, numerous challenges and risk factors have raised the question of a need for adequate way of preventing people from indulging in risky behaviors and preserving not only their physical health, but also mental well-being, and encouraging them to freely express and be accepting of other people s gender identity and sexual orientation. At IFMSA-Serbia we believe that in order to provide and deliver effective education, you have to start early, which is why we often teach not only students and high scholers, but even work with elementary school pupils! However, the methods we use vary a lot. And we are sure that the methods that you use back at your country are different as well. Thus, a special platform was born in order to share our knowledge, meet other peer educators, raise new questions and get your motivation even higher than before: The Southern European Cooperation on Sexual Education! And whether you already have a set up peer education project, or just the volunteers willing to do so, you are all invited to come and share your experiences! During these sessions, each NMO will be assigned a time period to present one of the methods they are using or are currently developing for presenting clearly their message regarding the Sexual and Reproductive Health. And under the watching eyes of not only other SECSE delegates, but also our NECSE observers/participants, we are sure that we will all find a way or two for improving all of our methods!

THEME EVENT- Adolescents' Sexual Health Living in this world in 21 st century doubtless gives us big concerns regarding sexual and reproductive health issues. For millions of young people around the world, the onset of adolescence brings not only changes to their bodies but also new vulnerabilities to human rights abuses, particularly in the areas of sexuality, marriage and childbearing. Millions of girls are coerced into unwanted sex or marriage, putting them at risk of unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, and dangerous childbirth. Adolescent boys are at risk, as well. Young people both boys and girls are disproportionately affected by HIV. In order to prevent unintended pregnancies, and to ensure that adolescents do not suffer poor reproductive and sexual health outcomes, a better understanding of the specific sexual and reproductive health challenges and needs of adolescents is required. Yet too many young people face barriers to reproductive health information and care. Even those able to find accurate information about their health and rights may be unable to access the services needed to protect their health. Adolescents sexual and reproductive health must be supported. This means providing access to comprehensive sexuality education; services to prevent, diagnose and treat STIs; and counselling on family planning. It also means empowering young people to know and exercise their rights including the right to delay marriage and the right to refuse unwanted sexual advances. As we think that in our area we are missing a lot in having any type of this education, our program will be closely related to Adolescents sexual and reproductive health issues. When young people are given the information and tools they need to protect themselves, they can and do take charge of their sexual health. There is clear evidence that CSE has a positive impact on sexual and reproductive health (SRH), notably contributing towards reducing sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV and unintended pregnancy. The objective of CSE is to ensure that young people are receiving comprehensive, life skills-based sexuality education to gain the knowledge and skills to make conscious, healthy and respectful choices about relationships and sexuality. Evidence has confirmed that sexuality education does not hasten sexual activity, but has positive impact on safer sexual behavior and can delay sexual debut and increase condom use. Global momentum around CSE has resulted in increased political commitment worldwide.

We will be also organizing a programme delivered by professionals in the field, to address these topics: 1. Reproductive Health of Adolescents 2. Adolescent Sexuality and Sexual Behavior 3. Sexually Transmitted Diseases, including HIV/AIDS 4. Contraception and abuse of the morning-after pill 5. Pregnancy and Abortion in teenage girls 6. Access to safe abortion 7. Comprehensive Sexual Education Also, one of the theme event will be about safe sexual methods

SOCIAL PROGRAMME All over Serbia, you will find so many things to do, see and experience. Serbia is full of interesting places, where one can easily pass many hours enjoying the entertainment that can be found in Serbia. Whatever type of bar or club you are looking for, you will find it in Serbia. Belgrade's nightlife is well and truly awake and in this city you can have a lot of fun. Belgrade has a reputation for its nightlife, and with good reason. Unlike in other parts of Europe, there is no day of the week in Belgrade when you cannot have a night out. This is true whatever your age, whatever your lifestyle and however much you want to spend. A lot of nightclubs, bars and floating river clubs along the riverbanks make Belgrade nightlife some of the most exuberant in Europe. Because of this, Belgrade has become quite the regional nightlife hub, boasting cheap drinks and accommodation. The mainstream clubbing scene consists of venues playing house music, progressive, tech house, and turbo-folk (a sub-genre of folk music with dance and pop elements specific to Serbia), but you can also find places specializing in R n B, pop, rock, trance, alternative, jazz, or just about any other type of music in existence. But please, don t just take our word for it! You can read more about what other reputable websites have to say about Belgrade, here, here and here, or even better, come and see for yourself! Other regions and cities of Serbia are also well known by their vivid and exciting night life. People are very cheerful and almost always ready to party. There are numerous music festivals of international recognition and popularity, such as: EXIT (summer music festival in Novi Sad), Guča (trumpet festival in Guča) and Nisville (jazz festival in Niš). Zlatibor nightlife is quite unique. This mountain resort is certainly the most famous, the biggest, the most visited and the best place for your winter holiday. In the summer and especially during the winter months nightlife on the mountain is something that you ll never forget. After whole day enjoying in nature, fresh air and sport activities the best way of spending the night is in several nightclubs and discotheques. Music genres and atmosphere are different but if you choose the place according to your taste, you will surely spend incredible time.

In Serbia, toasts are usually made with traditional rakija (brandy), often homedistilled. Toasts are made by clinking glasses, making direct eye contact and loudly proclaiming Živeli!, which means Cheers!. Serbs enjoy rich and flavoursome food, so we especially recommend for you to try: Pljeskavica, Ćevap, Burek, Svadbarski kupus, Pršuta, Kajmak, Sir, Ajvar... In the spirit of Serbia, we will prepare for you an unforgettable social program to discover all these amazing aspects of Serbia, which will include: Guided tour of Belgrade Opening ceremony and Welcome to Serbia party National Food and Drink Party (NFDP) Rakia night and Sexy Party How much Rakia can you drink? :) Closing ceremony

SERBIA; ZALTIBOR Serbia has connected West with East for centuries a land in which civilisations, cultures, faiths, climates and landscapes meet and mingle. It is located in the centre of the Balkan Peninsula, in southeastern Europe. The northern portion belongs to central Europe, but in terms of geography and climate it is also partly a Mediterranean country. Serbia is landlocked, but as a Danube country it is connected to distant seas and oceans. Serbia is a crossroad of Europe and a geostrategically important territory. The international roads and railway lines, which run through the country s river valleys, form the shortest link between Western Europe and the Middle East. The landscape of Serbia is filled with mountains rich in canyons, gorges and caves, as well as well-preserved forests. Serbia s beautiful mountains, national parks, rivers and lakes are the perfect location for an active outdoor holiday from hunting and fishing to extreme sports. Many times during its rich, centuries-long history, Serbia has been at the centre of Europe s and the world s attention, out of all proportion to its modest size, economic might and number of inhabitants. Many lessons on bravery, patriotism and the struggle for freedom can be learned wherever you turn in Serbia, as you pass through its cities and regions.

The cultural and historical heritage of Serbia begins with prehistoric archaeological sites and its legacy from classical antiquity. Perhaps its greatest riches, though, are in the many mediaeval Serbian churches and monasteries, some of which are included on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Today, Serbia is a modern, democratic European country, on the path to membership of the European Union, which a diverse range of visitors from young backpackers to participants in congresses and fairs visit every day. Statistically, the mostvisited tourist destinations are the cities of Belgrade and Novi Sad, the mountains of Kopaonik and Zlatibor and the spa towns of Vrnjačka Banja and Sokobanja.

Belgrade is the capital city of Serbia and has a population of around 1.7 million. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe and has since ancient times been an important crossing of the ways where the roads of eastern and western Europe meet. The city lies on two international waterways, at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, which surround it on three sides. Because of this position, Belgrade is fittingly referred to as the Gateway to the Balkans and the Door to Central Europe. Zlatibor is a mountain region situated in the western part of Serbia, a part of the Dinaric Alps. With its name literally translated to Golden Pine, it is an extraordinary beautiful mountain, with spacious sloping grounds, rich pasture-grounds and mountain brooks. Situated at an elevation of just over 1000 meters, Zlatibor is a climatic resort, characterized by a cool mountain climate, clean air, long periods of sunshine during the summer and heavy snow cover in winter. It is intersected by numerous rivers, streams and ravines. Tourist facilities include modern hotels, holiday centers and cottages, sport grounds and skiing.

Are you feeling SECSE? If yes, then you should definitely come to Serbia and check out the amazing program we have prepared for you!!!
