Why a GoNorth Vehicle? GoNorth vehicles are allowed on all public roads, regardless whether paved or gravel. All vehicles are equipped with the strongest tires available. No road restrictions in USA and Canada. Only exception: Petersville Road in Alaska after mile 10 is not permitted for Motorhomes. GoNorth is open 7 days a week, including Sundays and all holidays. GoNorth Seattle station is open year-round for Motorhomes. All other branches are open year round for 4x4 SUVs and Trucks only. GoNorth has the largest and newest fleet of Truck Campers in Alaska. GoNorth is the only company with rental locations in Anchorage (Alaska), Fairbanks (Alaska), Whitehorse (Yukon Territory), and Seattle (Washington State). One way rentals allowed between all locations. GoNorth offers very economical one way rentals year-round between Washington State and Alaska. Condor Airline is offering nonstop-flights from Frankfurt to Seattle, Anchorage and Whitehorse. Plus, once weekly Frankfurt-Anchorage-Fairbanks-Frankfurt. Age of vehicles GoNorth offers Truck Campers as well as Motorhomes in three different categories. These categories are only determined by the age of the vehicle: Category Gold (formerly Luxury ) Model-Years 2017-2015 Category Silver (formerly Eco ) Model-Years 2014 & 2013 Category Bronze (formerly Budget ) Model-Years 2012 & 2011 These categories are not applicable for 4x4 Trucks only (without Camper Unit mounted), 4x4 SUVs and Passenger Vans. Please note that vehicle rentals in Alaska only comprise the months of June, July, August and parts of September. In comparison to other destinations, the rental period is extremely short. A four-year-old vehicle in Alaska usually has travelled fewer miles and days than a newer vehicle in a warmer location with a longer rental season. General rule: The older a unit, the more it has been used the more wear and tear it shows. Although there is absolutely no difference in the care our mechanics provide for each unit, there is still a slightly bigger chance of experiencing a malfunction with an older, more used unit than with a newer unit. GoNorth staff invests the same time and effort to prepare each unit carefully for every rental, regardless of vehicle category. 5

On days of Condor arrivals, GoNorth will be open at least 2 hours after aircraft arrival at destination, but no later than 7PM (19h) local time. Clients picking up their vehicle after 3PM due to Condor arrival times must still return the vehicle by 3PM at the latest on the return date. Motorhomes and Truck Campers Difference between Truck Campers and Motorhomes Truck Camper A camper unit (living area) is mounted on the truck s loading platform. The driver s cabin cannot be accessed from the living area. It is not permitted to remain in the camper unit while driving. The Truck Camper is very handy for city traffic (parking) and perfect for driving on gravel and unpaved roads. Fuel consumption is lower compared to a motorhome. The living area itself is smaller and does not offer as much storage space. They do have a higher clearance compared to the motorhome. All GoNorth truck campers have 4 -wheel drive (4x4) Motorhome A motorhome can be described as a vacation home on wheels. The driver s cabin is directly accessible from the living area. Passengers are allowed in the living area as long as they are wearing seat belts. In comparison to the truck camper, the motorhome has a more spacious living area and the boarding step is lower. The average fuel consumption is higher and it is less comfortable maneuvering through busy city traffic or unpaved roads. Motorhomes are 2-wheel drive only and have a lower ground clearance. GoNorth is charging extra (currently 25 cents) per mile driven with Motorhomes on gravel roads. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Mandatory. Deductible = deposit of USD 2000 will be charged to customer s credit card upon pick up. The CDW does not cover damage to glass, tires and road-hazard damage. VIP Available in conjunction with CDW only. In addition to the CDW, it also covers road-hazard damage to glass and tires and further reduces responsibility for both road-hazard and collision damage to USD 500 per incident. Extra Miles Extra miles are subject to a fee and will be charged on return of rental vehicle (deducted from the deposit). If the amount exceeds the deposit, the difference will be charged to customer s credit card. Please consider that unlimited mileage is only suitable if clients drive more than 250 miles per day on average. Taxes & Fees Please note that the following taxes and fees are as of July 2015, and are subject to change without notice. Fairbanks 3% on Camper and Motorhomes / 10% on SUV, Truck and Van Anchorage 11% on Camper and Motorhomes / 18 % on SUV, Truck and Van Seattle 18.171% on rentals less than 30 days 10.771% on rentals over 29 days; valid for all categories Whitehorse 5% for all categories All taxes and fees are included in GoNorth rental rates unless specified otherwise. The above mentioned taxes and fees include all taxes like federal, city, local, national, sales tax. Furthermore all credit card, banking, concession and booking fees are included. Net Rates The following criteria are used to determine the net rate level which a wholesaler will be offered. All criteria are used equally in terms of importance. Category A+ will receive the lowest net rates / category C will face the highest level of net rates. Above graphic is an example only and would receive a B+ net rate. 24
Rental Terms and Additional Information Minimum Age, Additional Drivers, Driver s License Drivers must be at least 25 years of age to rent a Motorhome, Truck Camper or a Passenger Van, and at least 21 years to rent a SUV or Truck only. All drivers must present a valid driver's license and a credit card when they pick up their vehicle. An international driver s license is not required but recommended. There is no surcharge for additional drivers. Child Car Seats GoNorth does not provide child car seats nor does GoNorth take any responsibility for the installation of child car seat. You can check the requirements for travelling with children at http://www.carseatsak.org/ Gravel Roads GoNorth SUVs, Trucks, Vans and Truck Camper are allowed on gravel roads with no surcharge. For Motorhomes only: GoNorth charges $0.25 per each mile driven on unpaved (gravel) roads like Dempster Highway, Dalton Highway, Denali Highway, McCarthy Road, Elliott Highway, Steese Highway, Taylor Highway (Top of the World), Hatcher Pass and all other gravel roads. GoNorth reserves the rights to issue temporary road restrictions in case of unusual poor conditions, natural or man-made hazards. GoNorth issues these restrictions based on information provided by the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Alaska State Troopers and Transport Canada. Transfer to/from the rental station Rentals of 14 days and more include the cost of transfer from/to the airport or downtown hotel to the rental station. Taxi receipt has to be presented to the GoNorth counter staff for reimbursement. The maximum reimbursement for a transfer from/to the rental station is USD 25 per way. GoNorth does not offer a shuttle service. Vehicle Pick-Up It can take up to 1 ½ hours for the required vehicle orientation, to complete payment and sign all the required paperwork. Check-in and check-out takes place between 10AM and 3PM. The vehicle has to be returned at the same time as it was picked up. One rental day equals 24 hours. GoNorth guarantees pick up by 3PM (15h); however, we strive to have vehicles ready for pick up before 3PM (15h). Customers are required to examine the vehicle carefully upon pick up. All damages to the vehicle have to be stated on the damage report. Customers will be charged for all additional damage to the vehicle upon return of the vehicle. After the vehicle orientation the contract will be signed and all additional charges (including deposit) will be charged to the customer s credit 25
card. A copy of the contract, as well as the credit card slip will be handed to the customer. The vehicle is equipped with an operations manual for quick reference. Vehicle Return Vehicles must be returned to the GoNorth office during official hours, according to the appointment arranged when the rental contract was signed. There is a penalty for delayed drop off. Drop off can take up to 1 hour. In order to avoid additional cleaning fees or repair charges, the vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was upon pick up, both inside and outside. When the customer arrives at the rental station to return the vehicle, it is recommended to pack and unload the bags first, then the GoNorth staff will check the vehicle. Any additional mileage, damage charges, fuel and cleaning fees will be assessed at this time. GoNorth counter staff will assist in organizing a taxi to the airport or hotel. Upgrade/Downgrade GoNorth holds one back-up vehicle per 25 rental vehicles to make sure that all customers get the vehicle they originally booked, even in the event of breakdowns. Only in exceptional cases the vehicle confirmed may not be available. GoNorth will offer an upgrade before a downgrade to the customer affected by vehicle shortage. Upgrade In case the originally booked category is not available, GoNorth will offer an upgrade to a higher category with no extra charge. Additional charges like extra mileage will be based on the originally booked category rather than the upgrade. GoNorth does not take responsibility for any consequential cost like higher fuel consumption, surcharges for ferry bookings (longer vehicle), cancelled ferry booking due to the longer vehicle, higher camping or accommodation cost due to the size of the vehicle. No further compensation is applicable. Downgrade In the event that neither the originally booked category nor an upgrade is available, GoNorth will offer a downgrade to the customer. The difference between the originally booked category and the downgrade will be refunded directly to the customer (based on GoNorth public fares). Consequential costs like extra mileage will be based on the downgrade rather than the originally booked category. GoNorth does not take responsibility for direct or indirect consequences of a downgrade. Any further compensation as a result of a downgrade is not applicable. 26
Cleaning You can choose between 2 options: A) Money Saver: If vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was received, there will be no cleaning charges. Propane and fresh water do not need to be full at the time of the return. GoNorth takes care of the cleaning of linens, duvet covers, towels etc. B) Time Saver: GoNorth may charge a cleaning fee between USD 42.50 and USD 235 for the inside and between USD 25 and USD 75 for the outside cleaning. The exact charge is determined by the condition the vehicle is returned and how much time will be required to clean the rental unit. Propane and fresh water do not need to be full at the time of the return. Smoking Extra Gas Cans Fish and Game Pets is prohibited in all GoNorth vehicles and camper units are not permitted in the vehicles due to liability reasons may be carried in coolers only. Cleaning of fish inside vehicles is NOT permitted. are not permitted in the vehicles. Exception: Small or midsize dogs are allowed in the Budget Campers as long as they are locked in a kennel. A pet-fee of USD 250 per rental period applies. 27
Winter Rentals Minimum age for winter rentals is 25 years of age. GoNorth requires for all winter rentals that drivers have a minimum of 3 years driving experience in cold winter conditions with icy roads and snow. Renters will have to sign a document during pick up procedure, stating that all drivers listed in the contract are meeting these requirements. VIP is not available for SUV rentals between October 1st and April 1st. A minimum deposit of USD 2000 is due at the time of the pickup. No leisure travel is allowed North of Wiseman during winter time (October 1st thru April 30th). Booking Information All bookings have to be made in writing, usually by email to Wheels@GoNorth-Alaska.com. Requests will be answered within 24 hours. Un-used prepaid miles cannot be refunded. Use it or lose it!) One Way fee (if applicable) Online check-in In January 2017, GoNorth will launch a new online access system for your customers. Details will be sent at this time. You will start seeing online access codes on confirmations during the month of November.
