Salter Collection consists of 47,021 items including railroad related photographs, negatives, slides, timetables/schedules, maps, posters, books including Official Guides, correspondence and model trains of various scales. The family of the late David W. Salter donated his collections to the Southern Museum in May 2010. Single photocopies are available for research purposes only for a nominal fee. Description: This series consists of photographs and postcards, black and white, ranging in size between 3 ¼ x 2 ¼ 8.5 x 10 in diameter. Included in this series are the AB&A, AB&C, Atlanta Birmingham & Atlantic and Atlanta & West Point Railroads, dating 1916 1959. Descriptions are representative samples in the collection and not detailed entirely as to their contents.
