Market Update With ever increasing levels of cyber threats 2016/17 will see organisations seriously looking at ways to protect their IP and internal infrastructure. Many organisations do not have the expertise in-house to tackle these issue and are actively seeking security experts to help rectify this and establish security frameworks and protocols. Traditionally, external consultancies have been utilised to provide expertise in this area, however there has been a noticeable shift in organisations trying to bring this capability in-house and build dedicated security teams. Most major government agencies have appointed a CISO or Security Manager. Roles within these teams include, Security consultants, Security Engineers, Security Architects and occasionally Chief Information Security Officers. Due to this trend towards in-house cyber security teams there is a great deal of recruitment of the above mentioned professionals, both contract and permanent, as businesses embark on projects in security and cloud. Most, if not all, employers care about skills and traits that aren t obvious from reading your CV take the time to pick up the phone and introduce yourself to the hiring manager/recruiter that is hiring. Ralph Fontelar Consultant In this heavily candidate driven market employers need to move quickly if you feel a prospective candidate fits the bill, you need to be able to interview and offer the job quickly. In this case the best candidates are often in the market (gainfully 3
