Academic path Rzeszów University of Technology has in its structures a specialized unit: Aviation Training Centre. Founded in 1977 as flight training organization mainly for Polish national airlines LOT. In 1990 it was fully took over by University. Similarly to all courses financed by Polish government, flight training is guaranteed for free. 10
Training infrastructure The own airfield with concrete runway within controlled airspace of neighboring international airport. 11
Training infrastructure Technical facilities providing not only line and hangar maintenance, but also giving opportunity for certified PART-147 training. 12
Training infrastructure 21 training aeroplanes covering classes from basic SEP to MEP with integrated avionics and aerobatic aeroplane. 3 training devices of FNPTII/MCC class. 13
ATP Integrated Course 1. The pilot training is incorporated into 4 year Bachelor and 1.5 year Master course. Starts in 3rd semester. 2. Candidates are selected carefully during 3rd semester among the best students of the year. 3. Annually, there are 24 students incorporated into ATP training. 4. For remaining students there are 10 places for CPL/IR/ME training and 6 places for CPL(H) training. 14

ATP Integrated Course Alumni 1. The theoretical knowledge required by law is included in the academic course, mostly. Therefore, its level is higher than minimum. 2. The training standards are highly focused on prospective employment by air carriers (SOP, QRH, minima, procedures, etc.). 3. The student gains the license and ratings that may give him opportunity to apply for a job in airline. 22
ATP Integrated Course Alumni No matter how hard the student worked or the University tried to the alumni represent only a generic candidate for an airline pilot. 23
ATP Integrated Course Alumni Surprisingly, students finishing integrated course, are in the worse position than many other after modular one: Total flight experience of 250FH stands much less than entry requirements in many airlines, nevertheless students have IFR experience doubled, comparing to modular course; Some students try to gain more flight hours, but the longer it takes, the faster their proficiency decreases; There is a constant number of students, who resign from the final exam, which is rather expensive. 24

ATP Integrated Course supported by Airline During last six years Rzeszów University of Technology cooperated with Polish regional airline EuroLOT, developing course strictly airline oriented. It based on several actions and milestones, which helped: University to select candidates and monitor their traits in training; Students to get knowledge and habits specific for airline environment; Airline to get well trained and prepared first officers with known professional resume. 26
ATP Integrated Course supported by Airline Candidate selection Flight training Individual and group assessment tests to identify best candidates for professional flight training. Incorporation of airline standards and procedures into every training phase, in the most advanced, such as IR or MCC especially; Providing of two-week line orientation training with observation flights in cockpit. Airline career Type rating training for group of best students; 500FH of FO experience. 27
ATP Integrated Course supported by Airline Within the timespan of the program, one group of students underwent it completely: entry assessment for training; flight training according to the airline standards and procedures; group of eight passed theoretical course for DHC-8 Q400; airline picked two of them for type rating and FO. 28

Summary There are several sources of candidates for airline pilots. One of them is certified training organized by the University. 30
