The old city features broad avenues and 17th-century wood buildings-a legacy of the rebuilding that followed a disastrous fire that leveled the city in 1681. 9 (Tuesday, July 4) at Sea 6 (Saturday, July 1) at Sea 11 (Thursday, July 6) at Sea 7 (Sunday, July 2) at Sea 12 (Friday, July 7) Murmansk, Russia is celebrated as the only city found north of the Arctic Circle and dates back to the last years of the Tsarist Empire. Murmansk was and remains a major fishing and naval center. 8 (Monday, July 3) Spitsbergen, Norway is one of the largest islands in the Svalbard Archipelago and home to one of the most exotic landscapes on earth. Enjoy breathtaking vistas covered with carpets of wildflowers and hopefully catch a glimpse of the Artic fox, a polar bear or the flocks of migratory birds that inhabit the island. Have your cameras ready. 10 (Wednesday, July 5) Tromso, Norway is north of the Arctic Circle and has been a departure point for Arctic explorers and hunters since the 18th century. Ride the cable car to the summit of Mt. Storsteinen for dramatic views or enjoy the lively cultural atmosphere of this university town.

From mid-may to July, the full disc of the sun never dips below the horizon. During the summer months, vast reindeer herds roam this central plateau. 14 (Sunday, July 9) at Sea 15 (Monday, July 10) Gravdal, Norway is your gateway to the Lofoten Islands which are the western remnants of the great mountain ranges worn away by the glaciers. Spectacular scenery in this port. 16(Tuesday, July 11) at Sea 17 (Wednesday, July 12) Hellesylt, Norway. This morning will be spent cruising by this old Viking port which is our gateway to the scenic wonders of the Geirangerfjord district. 17 18-20 The dramatic landscape offers stunning vistas of mountains, waterfalls and fast-flowing rivers teeming with salmon. Passengers participating in Hellesylt tours will transfer to shore by ship s tender. 17 (Wednesday, July 12) Geiranger, Norway (afternoon visit). Geriangerfjord is often described as the most beautiful fjord in the world. This fjord thrusts nine spectacular miles into Norway s mountains. Over 900 feet deep, the narrow fjord is lined by sheer cliffs that rear some 2,000 feet above its surface. Waterfalls, such as the Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil Falls, plummet from cliff to fjord. At the head of this magnificent spectacle sits the tiny village of Geiranger. Passengers transfer to shore by ship s tender. 18 (Thursday, July 13) Haugesund, Norway. This quaint town, perched on the North Sea, boasts dual personalities. While renowned as the site where Viking king Harald Hårfagre united Norway as a kingdom in the 9th century, it s also one of the country s most popular destinations. The thriving town center with hundreds of shops and cultural diversions and jaw-dropping scenery, guarantees you a wonderful day. 19 (Friday, July 14) at Sea 20 (Saturday, July 15) London (Dover), England.
