April 15 th - Lima Puerto Maldonado Corto Maltes Amazonia This morning, fly to remote Puerto Maldonado; then enjoy a journey on the Madre de Rios River to your jungle lodge. Get your first taste of the rainforest with an expert guide. Before dinner, take a short caiman-spotting expedition. April 16th Amazon Exploration After a dawn excursion to a popular feeding area for parrots, enjoy breakfast. A short boat ride takes you into the Tambopata Candamo National Reserve. Disembark and hike through the jungle. Arrive at Sandoval Lake where you may spot a wide variety of wildlife.

April 17th Amazon Exploration Enjoy the morning at leisure. Be immersed in local culture with the Ese eja tribe and visit a local farm to learn about traditional Amazonian agriculture. April 18th Corto Maltes Amazonia Puerto Maldonado Lima After breakfast, depart for Lima. Upon your arrival, a local host will greet you and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day at your leisure. Meal: Breakfast April 19th Lima Free Time and Sightseeing Kick back, relax and enjoy your morning at the hotel. At lunchtime, head to Casa Diez Canseco, the home of an illustrious Lima family, and meet the friendly owner for a Welcome Reception and Be My Guest lunch. Learn about the history of your host s ancestors and tour his historic home before enjoying a home-cooked meal of Peruvian delicacies. After lunch, spend the afternoon exploring Peru s capital with your Local Expert discovering the splendors of Lima s Historic Center. Meals: Breakfast and Be My Guest Lunch April 20 Lima Cusco Sacred Valley Fly to Cusco and head for the Sacred Valley. Stop at Awanakancha, a living museum of the Peruvian Andes. Enjoy a picnic box lunch before visiting the market of Pisac. Later this afternoon, arrive at your hotel, a former 18 th century colonial-style monastery. Learn about the Local Specialty of Peruvian weaving as you observe centuries-old methods of spinning, dyeing and weaving Andean textiles. This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel. April 21- Sacred Valley Machu Picchu After breakfast, head to Ollantaytambo to visit this famous Inca stronghold and learn about Inca history as you tour the ruins. Next, board the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu. Visit the ruins of this once-great fortress built in the 15 th century. See the highlights of this UNESCO World Heritage Site the great Temple of the Sun, the House of the Priest, the Sacred Plaza and the Intihuatana. Dinner is served at the hotel. April 22 - Machu Picchu Cusco Return to Machu Picchu to continue exploring on your own. In the early afternoon, descend from your mountaintop aerie and head toward the colonial city of Cusco. On the way, stop at a chicheria for a taste of chicha, a Local Specialty, and learn how this Peruvian beer is made only by women. Meal: Breakfast April 23 - Cusco Sightseeing and Free Time This morning, embark on a tour of Cusco, the Imperial City, and the capital of the Incas during their reign. Delve deeper into the history of this ancient place at the 17 th century Church of Santo Domingo. Just outside of town, visit the ruins of the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Spend the rest of the afternoon on your own in Cusco. This evening, gather at a local restaurant, to enjoy Cusquenian dishes and ancestral dance performances. April 24 -Cusco Lima Free Time Fly back to Lima late this morning and enjoy an afternoon on your own. Later, meet a Local Expert, a curator at the Larco Museum, which houses the largest private collection of pre-columbian art in the world. Then gather with your traveling companions for a Farewell Dinner in the museum s garden restaurant. Late night transfer to Lima Airport for return flight. April 25 -Depart Lima Your return Delta flight, departing at 1:35 a.m. to Seattle, with a connection in Atlanta, arriving Seattle late afternoon. Bus will return you to Moses Lake. Included in your adventure: Round trip bus from Moses Lake, round trip air from Seattle, all ground transfers in Peru, accommodations, meals, touring, domestic Peru air, taxes and travel protection provided by Travelex Select, in the event of cancellation because of a covered reason, emergency accident and sickness expense. Rates per person $4829.00 based on double occupancy. Single supplement $850.00. If you are a past guest of Uniworld River Cruising or Trafalgar, you will receive a discount of $105.00 per person. An additional discount of $105.00 is available for past military service, All payments need to be paid by check. If you want to use your credit card, there is an additional fee $150.00 per person. Deposit is $785.00 per person, and is non-refundable. Final Payment is November 1 st. Cancellation Penalties: $785.00 per person is non-refundable which includes payment for insurance. $1000.00 per person if cancelled 89 to 45 days before departure $4829.00 per person if cancelled 45 days or less before departure. GENERAL INFORMATION PASSPORT NOTICE / DOCUMENTS It is the responsibility of each guest to ensure they have a valid machine-readable passport which must be valid at least 6 months beyond the conclusion of the trip as well as any necessary visas. Before you travel, please be sure to check with your local consulate to confirm the specific passport and visa requirements and any possible changes as determined by the issuing country of the passport holder for the country or countries you intend to visit. The operators and/or their employees and their agents are not responsible for passport, visa, entry, health or other requirements of the countries visited or for any loss sustained by a guest for failing to comply with laws, regulations, orders and/or requirements of countries visited. Notice: Upon arrival in Peru, guests will receive an immigration paper that must be presented along with passport upon checkin to each hotel and to immigration authorities upon country s departure. Retaining this paper is important. Passport must be presented to board the train to Machu Picchu. LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE Baggage handling of one suitcase per person, at each tour hotel, is included in the vacation price. Due to limited coach capacity, a single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30 x18 x10 (76x46x25cm) and weight not exceeding 50 lbs (23kg). Please note that some airlines restrict checked luggage allowance - check with your airline. A charge of US$6 per traveling day will be collected by the Travel Director if a second piece of baggage is carried, or if the suitcase exceeds the established weight and/or dimensions. Please note that we cannot guarantee that more than one suitcase will be allowed onboard the coach. Carry-on/hand luggage is restricted to one piece per person, not exceeding 12 x11 x6 (30x28x14 cm) in order to fit under your coach seat or in the small overhead compartment. Carryon/hand luggage handling is the responsibility of each guest and must be taken on and off the motorcoach by you each day of the vacation. Please note that carryons with telescopic handles and wheels will not fit in the overhead compartments or under seats and, therefore, cannot be accepted as carry-on luggage for safety reasons. Checked baggage may be locked with a TSA approved lock. Please note: There is a 10kg/22 lbs luggage restriction for the Peruvian Amazon pre-extension. Extra luggage will be stored with local agent in Puerto Maldonado. Please pack accordingly. Please Note: Guests are only allowed to bring one 5 kg/11 lb. piece of hand luggage per person on the train ride to/from Machu Picchu. Primary luggage will be transferred to Cusco and stored. There is a 23 kg/50 lbs.checked baggage and 8 kg/ 17 lbs. hand carry weight limit per person on all flights within Peru. GRATUITIES Gratuities for your Travel Director and motor coach driver are not included. Tipping these service providers is customary on escorted vacations throughout the world. If you feel they have provided excellent service, we recommend a per day / per guest discretionary gratuity of US$3-5 for your Travel Director and US$2 for your motor coach driver. Inside the restaurant you will be delighted by its atmosphere, the rich cuisine offered and the folklore shows that are presented. Length: 2 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax). Adult US$82 LIM-2 HUACA PUCLLANA AND HUACA HUALLAMARCA Visit two of Lima s ancient oracle centers with an archaeologist. You will start with the Huaca Pucllana archeological center that was active between the 5th and the 8th centuries A.D. Next, visit Huaca Huallamarca, an oracle center that functioned for 1,200 years up to the Spanish Conquest. Length: 2 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax). Adult US$87 LIM-3 HALF-DAY PACHACAMAC The tour will start by taking the South Pan American Highway, arriving at Pachacamac, the most important Ceremonial Center of the Peruvian Coast during pre-inca and Inca times. Here, you will see several mudded buildings from different early times. Over the course of the centuries, Pachacamac was occupied by many different Andean civilizations such as Lima, Wari, Ichma, even the Inca s Empire, but it always kept its religious status. Ruins are closed Mondays. Length: 4 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax). Adult US$95 LIM-4 HALF-DAY INDIAN MARKET Enjoy a guided tour to the Indian Market. It is Located in Lima s modern district of Miraflores. The market offers Peruvian handicrafts, potters, paintings and unique souvenirs. At the numerous stands you will find a variety of carpets, sweaters, coats, t-shirts, hats, metal crafts, such as bronze-, silver-, gold- and precious stone arts. There is also beautiful leather, wool, wood and stone goods available. Length: 3 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax). Adult US$68 LIM-5 MAGIC CIRCUIT OF THE WATER Enjoy this guided tour to the Magic Circuit of the Water, the world s largest fountain complex of beautiful interactive fountains with playing water, colorful lights and laser rays, which dance with the music rhythm. Adult US$89 CUSCOCUS-2 MARAS AND MORAY Visit two uniquely traditional sites outside of Cusco, starting with Maras, a salt production center that dates back to colonial times. Continue to Moray, where the Incas constructed greenhouse terraces to study and improve their refined farming techniques. This place is famous for its amphitheater formed agricultural terracing. Length: 4 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax). Adult US$130 CUS-3 PIqUILLACTA AND ANDAHUAYLILLAS You will visit two important centers located in Cusco s Valley. First you will visit Piquillacta, a pre-inca citadel (Wari culture) that maintains its ancient mystery and bizarre architecture. Afterwards you will be transferred to visit Andahuaylillas, a town of the Spanish conquerors that keeps the art and gold treasures in its church. Due to its outstanding art and craftsmanship, it is called the Sistine Chapel of America. If you wish you are invited to taste the typical Peruvian chicharrones (pork) or cuy (guinea pig). Adult US$72 CUS-6 VISIT WORKSHOP AT CHOCOLATE MUSEUM Visit the Chocolate museum where you can learn about the history of the Cacao and the chocolate, the Cacao s tree and its small chocolate factory where the products are made. Enjoy a cacao preparation workshop and experience the making of hot chocolate with a selection of special ingredients. Length: 3 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax). Adult US$76

HUAYNA PICCHU The number of daily visitors allowed to enter Huayna Picchu is restricted to 400. Advance purchase of tickets online will guarantee admission. A steep and at times exposed climb leads to the summit. Some portions are slippery and steel cables (a via ferrata) provide some support during the one-hour climb. At times during the rainy season, the tours are closed. The climb is not recommended for visitors in poor physical condition. From the summit, a second trail leads down to the Gran Caverna and the Temple of the Moon (a misnomer). [5] These natural caves, on the north face of the mountain, are lower than the starting point of the trail. The return path from the caves completes a loop around the mountain as it rejoins the main trail. For those interested in making this climb, we have been advised that Trafalgar can secure the tickets to climb for $12.00 (rate as of Jun 2014). There are several other hikes that do not require a ticket. You would need to make this climb on April 22 in the morning.
