Day 2: Lima Morning at leisure Afternoon City tour & Larco Herrera Museum (4hrs approx.) The tour starts in the modern district of San Isidro. Then, we will be transferred to the Historic Centre of Lima and its Main Square, containing the Presidential Palace, Archbishop's Palace, Municipality and cathedral; a visit to the cathedral is included. This is followed by a visit to Santo Domingo convent, one of the most significant historic buildings in the city, which contains the remains of Peruvian saints Rose of Lima and St. Martin of Porres. Finally, a visit to the Larco Museum, one of the most complete museums in Latin America, which boasts an incomparable collection of treasures from ancient Peru. This impressive collection of more than 45,000 exhibits inspires visitors to discover, understand and enjoy more than five thousand years of Peruvian history.
One of its most striking displays is of ceramic items from the Mochica culture, known, as erotic pottery. Dinner at Huaca Pucllana by night Enjoy a delicious dinner in front of one of the most important archaeological prehispanic sites in Lima. (Boat is on SIB-shared services with other passengers) Upon arrival to Puerto Maldonado, you will be greeted by one or more of our guides and then taken to a waiting vehicle. You will take short ride to our operations office in Puerto Maldonado where we will ask you to store luggage you don t need. Luggage is hand-carried at various stages in the trip for long distance so we ask you to please limit your weight to 15 kilos (32 pounds apiece). You can pack separate bags and safely leave them at our offices in Puerto Maldonado on the first day so we won t be carrying them around uselessly. Your bag will be waiting for you at the airport the day you leave. After taking care of luggage, we take a 40-minute drive to the Infierno Community Port where we board long, sturdy canoes equipped with outboard motors and head upstream to Refugio Amazonas. The three-hour boat ride is very pleasant and often includes our first sightings of macaws, heron, caiman and capybara. Once the boat arrives at the lodge dock, you will have officially arrived to the Wild Rainforests of Tambopata! Day 6: Puerto Maldonado - Cuzco - Sacred Valley This is the day when our experience in the rainforest ends. We will be transferred by boat to the port in Puerto Maldonado and from here the transportation will take us to the airport for our flight back to Cusco. Upon arrival we will be transferred to the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the river we will practice on the flat part following the guide's instructions, this part will help us for the moment when we will run the river rapids with waves and

When the Spanish conquered Peru the Dominican order built a church over this temple, the church of Santo Domingo. We will continue to the famous Main Plaza and then to Sacsayhuaman Fortress built of enormous stone blocks expertly shaped by the Incas right on top of the city. What a view of the city!
But the most interesting part of our day is yet to come: the ancient rite of the Pago a la tierra offering to the Earth through which we will gain a deeper insight into the Andean culture and beliefs. It is presided by a Paco, an Andean priest, who will give thanks to Pachamama or mother earth by offering different elements and prayers that honor her. The Santiago Apostol Church, built in stone is one of the most important buildings of the city. Inside this church there is an identical replica of Michelangelo s la pieta, capping a stunning black marble mausoleum of Mr. Torres Bellón, who was a prosperous engineer of the city. The amazing thing is that in this town there is a second replica of the italian artist s work, the second sculpture is located in the City Hall, with an exhibition of Victor Humareda, a peruvian painter. Making Lampa the only place in the world where you can find two identical copies of this masterpiece. Lampa has other wonders, colorful adobe houses, kid s games made of stone inside domestic patios, an Immaculate Conception platform made from over 800kilos of pure silver and La Colorada, a lagoon which is the small natural Paradise of birds and other animals. and a silver litter imitation of the one used to carry the Virgin of Macarena in Spain.

Sillustani Tombs Sitting on rolling hills on the Lake Umayo peninsula, the funerary towers of Sillustani stand out for miles against the desolate altiplano landscape. The ancient Colla people who once dominated the Lake Titicaca area were a warlike, Aymara-speaking tribe, who later became the southeastern group of the Incas. They buried their nobility in chullpas (funerary towers), which can be seen scattered widely around the hilltops of the region. The most impressive of these towers are at Sillustani, where the tallest reaches a height of 12m. The cylindrical structures housed the remains of complete family groups, along with plenty of food and belongings for their journey into the next world.
