Day 1 ARRIVE IN SANTIAGO Start your South America Wine Tour in Santiago. This bustling city is not only the capital of Chile, but it is also the best wine region in Chile. Transfer to your hotel and get ready for your city tour. Visit the main attractions in Santiago and admire the contrast between the colonial architecture and modern skyscrapers in Vitacura and Las Condes. Finish your Santiago tour where it all started: Santa Lucía Hill, the foundation of the city. Climb the hill for a picture-perfect panoramic view of Santiago and the Andes Mountains. Day 2 VALPARAISO & VIÑA DEL MAR After breakfast, grab your swimsuit because you are going to visit the picturesque seaport towns of Viña del Mar and Valparaíso! Start in Valparaíso, where Nobel prize winner Pablo Neruda had one of his three houses, La Sebastiana, now open to the public as a museum. Visit the historic center, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003. Admire the wellpreserved 19th-century buildings and churches, and use the elevators to climb some of the hills in the city. Afterwards, head to Viña del Mar, which will welcome you with its beautiful gardens, plazas, and palaces. Day 9 COLONIA WINE TASTING & TRANSFER TO MONTEVIDEO Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before departing for Montevideo. Along the way to Montevideo stop at the Bouza Vineyard and enjoy a wine tasting. Tour the vineyard and learn about the Bouza family and the grapes in Uruguay. Try the white wines, including, Albariño and Chardonnay, along withe their Merlot, Tempranillo and Tannat red wines. After trying some delicious wines, continue to the capital city of Montevideo. Upon arrival, go on a city tour and visit the most famous attractions in the city. Then you find Independence Square, which houses the remains of the national hero Jose Gervasio Artigas, and then continue to the Legislative Palace.
