CAPABILITY STATEMENT

BAGGAGE HANDLING, CHECKED/HOLD BAGGAGE SCREENING CONSULTANCY SERVICES Independent specialist airport baggage screening/handling systems planning and development consultants. Ashcote s expertise has been gained from involvement in the whole concept of HBS/CBS and Automated Bag Drop (ABD) implementation and their application to existing passenger and baggage processes. Experienced in defining/evaluating/managing 100% CBS/HBS, BHS and ABD implementation projects with both airline and airport clients, we are fully conversant with their needs, procedures, approvals, processes and constraints. We have a proven track record of successful HBS and BHS projects with over 75 international airports/ airlines around the world from simple low throughput, dedicated delivery systems to highly complex, multi-destination sortation systems capable of transporting and screening in excess of 13,500 bags per hour. INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND As one of the world s most experienced independent screening equipment and baggage handling system integrators, Ashcote Consulting have been highly successful in providing the critical link between the needs of the screening system and those of the airport and airline users. Ashcote is in the unique position of possessing the combined talents of aviation professionals with backgrounds in both airport and airline operations and this coupled with their unrivalled technical expertise, has enabled the company to offer a unique insight into screening and baggage solutions that satisfy the needs of both providers and users. Ashcote have developed strong working relationships with all the major screening equipment manufacturers of EDS CT, AT X-ray, X-ray Diffraction and Explosive Trace Detection systems and have carried out extensive evaluations on their use and application to both in-line and off-line baggage screening. This coupled with an extensive portfolio of successfully completed security screening projects, goes to further emphasise the scale of Ashcote s experience and ability to translate the operational requirements of users into viable technical solutions. Ashcote have direct in-depth experience with state-of-the-art Automated Self Bag Drop solutions, our capabilities being built from our extensive involvement in the Qantas Next Generation Check-In project across their Australian network. Airports and Airlines all over the world are starting to turn to automated technologies to improve passenger experience, increase capacity and decrease queues. Ashcote have the knowledge and experience to analyse airport processes and choose the technology that best suits our client s needs, as well as assess the impact that the change will have on other airport infrastructure. SYSTEM DEFINITION AND PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION The design and development of effective baggage handling and integrated security screening systems requires a thorough understanding and definition of the required capacity and operational requirements. Using process analysis techniques, Ashcote have the capability to produce clear specifications for the required performance of future baggage and screening systems. BAGGAGE/SCREENING SYSTEMS DESIGN, EVALUATION AND IMPLEMENTATION SERVICES Ashcote are able to offer clients HBS and BHS consultancy services that are adaptable to their specific requirements at each stage throughout the project life cycle, to include: Definition User Requirements, Design Criteria, Performance Specification, Security Protocols, etc. Evaluation Technical and commercial evaluation of HBS/BHS proposals highlighting areas of concern, potential improvements, value engineering, capital and operational cost efficiency, Due Diligence reviews, etc. Concept Design Inception, concept design development, option evaluation/selection, equipment/systems supplier selection, feasibility studies, cost planning, operational protocols, etc Simulation Detailed computer simulation of concept designs for proof of concept and early identification of constraints.
