ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION Airport pick-up and assistance Participants will be provided with airport assistance and transportation service between Noi Bai International Airport and designated Hotels in Hanoi within the period of 9-12 October 2012 based on the participants flight information in the registration forms. Pick up cannot be assured to those who have not confirmed their flight schedule in time. If this is the case, please use public transportation (see below) from the airport to the hotel. Once you have passed immigration and have stepped out into the arrival hall, please proceed to the officials holding a REGIONAL TVET CONFERENCE IN VIET NAM sign. They will be there for your support and will help you with getting your transportation to the hotel. Participants will be provided with Minibus Transport. VIPs will be provided with one 4-seat car with driver. For Airport departure, delegates will be provided with transport upon request. 15

Identification passes and access The Identification badges with specific colours are required for entry into all the venues of the meetings from 9, 10 and 11 October, 2012. Access will be denied to non-accredited individuals and those who make improper use of their passes. The badges will be delivered to the participants upon registration from - 08.00-22.00 on 9 October at the Conference Secretariat (function room 5) of Melia Hotel and - 07.15 08.15 on 10 October in the Grand Ballroom Foyer (1 st level) at Melia Hotel The badges shall be presented in 6 colours Type Respective holders Respective colour 1. Security check In order to provide adequate security at official events, various levels of control and screening may be implemented at each venue. Press and Media A TVET information and press liaison will be functioning at the Conference venue. The usual facilities will be made available to representatives of press agencies and radio, television and photographic services to enable them to follow the Conference proceedings. USEFUL INFORMATION Currency The currency is Vietnamese Dong (VND). Majors foreign currencies (USD, GBP, Euro ) can be exchanged at the banks, exchange bureaus or hotel reception desks. MUST DOs IN HANOI Shopping Once you re in Hanoi, shopping can be an exciting adventure. There are plenty of places to pick up souvenirs or just daily necessities, from markets to popular shopping streets and districts. Locals and tourists both agree that shopping in Hanoi is preferable to other large cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, so put on your walking shoes and head out to these places for a Hanoi shopping adventure! Shopping Streets Hang Gai- Silk Street is definitely the place to go if you re looking for tailor made silk dresses. The street stretches over several blocks and is packed with boutiques that specialize in silks and embroidery. Walk around a bit before buying, as you ll find that prices do vary. Hang Dao - This street is good for clothing and accessories, including watches, bags and shoes. Just don t confuse this shopping street with Hang Dau, which is another street that caters primarily to shoe addicts. Cau Go - Along the blocks that make up Cau Go you will find what is essentially hair heaven. The boutiques here specialize in hair accessories, from pretty hair pins to extravagant hair jewelry. Hang Ma - If you re looking for some household goods that will add to the ambiance of your home, look no further than Hang Ma. The shops on this street sell holiday decor, so you re sure to find some pretty things to dot about your house. 30
Department Stores Vincom Plaza Towers Hanoi - Address: 191 Ba Trieu, Hanoi Vincom shopping mall is located at the heart of Hanoi, only 10 minutes away from the Hanoi Old Quarter. This is a fabulous place to go shopping, gathering various well-known clothes brands in Vietnam and the world. The mall also has many famous restaurants and cafeterias on the 5th floor as well as a modern movie theater on the 6th floor that could be perfect for a relaxing day. Eating Restaurants close to Melia There is a wide range of dishes in Vietnam, including the very popular nem (spring rolls) and pho (Vietnamese noodle in soup). Not all foods are spicy. Vegetarian foods, dietary dishes & western menus are also available at certain restaurants. Imported beers and alcohols are available in hotels, restaurants and shops. For drinking water, please use bottled water, which has an unbroken seal. You should not drink tap water without boiling it first. 31

Hoan Kiem Lake Just around the corner of the Melia Hotel in 5min walking distance, you ll find one of the most beautiful spots in Hanoi the Hoan Kiem Lake. The various pavilions, halls, statues and stelae of doctors invite for a walk. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum 5 Ngoc Ha, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi Tel.: (04) 38 455 168 Sightseeing should include a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Just some minutes walking from the Hoan Kiem Lake. The shrine was build, where Ho Chi Minh delivered the Declaration of Independence in 1945. Also visit the little house behind in the park, where Ho Chi Minh lived. The Old Quarter, 36 Streets You have to visit the cosy old quarter of Hanoi, beginning at the north part of the Hoan Kiem Lake. Here is this narrow streets you ll find plenty of small shops selling silk, spices traditional good and souvenirs. 33

This is probably the place to go because of the huge variety on offer.
