Thursday, May 17: Welcome to London Upon arrival, our group will be transferred, by private charter bus, to our London lodging. After settling into our rooms, we will take an orientation walk and double decker bus ride through central London stopping to see some of the most famous sights such as: Trafalgar Square, St. Martins-in-the-Field Church, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, 10 Downing Street, The Houses of Parliament (Big Ben), and the world s largest Ferris wheel, The London Eye. After an early dinner, there will be time for you to rest and prepare for two great weeks in England. Friday, May 18: London Today we visit two world famous sights, the British Museum and the British Library.
Saturday, May 19: Dover and Canterbury Our travels today take us east of London to the coastal city of Dover to visit its famous castle which is perched high on a hill overlooking the English Channel. In Canterbury we visit the Canterbury Tales Exhibit and the city s Cathedral. Sunday, May 20: Free Day Today is a completely free day! Might we suggest: shopping at Harrods, one of the world s most famous shopping centers, spend some time in Hyde Park at Speaker s Corner, or check out some of the other sights throughout the city. There s plenty to do in London! Monday, May 21: Stratford-Upon-Avon Today we travel north of London to Stratford-Upon-Avon. There are many Shakespeare sights to take in today including the birthplace of the famous author, his grave inside Holy Trinity Church, and Mary Arden s House and Farm. Tuesday, May 22: Bath and Oxford Today we travel to the cities of Bath and Oxford to see many sights including the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, and Christ Church. Wednesday, May 23: Salisbury, Stonehenge, & Winchester This morning we start the day traveling west of London to Salisbury. We ll stop briefly to see Salisbury Cathedral. Then we ll continue on to the beautiful English countryside to see Stonehenge. Begun around 2,500 BC, Stonehenge is perhaps the most famous prehistoric monument in the world. The afternoon will be spent in Winchester visiting the burial place of Jane Austen. Thursday, May 24: London and Windsor Today, we start with panoramic views of the city on the London Eye Ferris wheel. Next, we visit the amazing Westminster Abbey. After lunch, we travel to Windsor to see Windsor Castle, the official home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Windsor is a great little English village town with lots of great restaurants and shops.
Friday, May 25: London and Greenwich We start the day with a visit to one of the most popular sites in Europe, Her Majesty s Tower of London. This famous landmark, begun by William the Conqueror in 1066, has been a prison, arsenal, zoo, royal palace, and mint. The Crown Jewels and Royal Armories collection are amazing to see! After lunch we take a river boat cruise to Greenwich to visit the Royal Observatory. Our river cruise pass will allow hop on hop off privileges throughout the day to other parts of London. Saturday, May 26: London Today we visit St. Paul s Cathedral and Shakespeare s Globe Theater. The Millennium Bridge forms an enjoyable walkway between these two famous sights. Sunday, May 27: Free Day Enjoy a day exploring London on your own! Monday, May 28: London Today s visits include the National Gallery, St. Martins-in-the Field Church, Covent Garden, and Trafalgar Square. Tuesday, May 29: London and Hampton Court Today we travel to visit Hampton Court Palace. This is one of the favorite homes of King Henry VIII. A visit to the Charles Dickens Museum back in London will round out the afternoon. Wednesday, May 30: Free Day A final free day to see London! Thursday, May 31: Departure This morning we will checkout of us London based accommodations and be transferred back to the airport for the flight back to the USA.
