Surveillance Technologies ASDE-X Airport Surface Detection Equipment, Model X (ASDE-X) provides position and identification of aircraft and vehicles on the airport movement area, and aircraft flying within 5 miles of the airport Utilizes data from: Surface Movement Radar (SMR) Multilateration sensors (Mlat) Terminal Radar ADS-B Data available to stakeholders via: SWIM Harris NextGen Data Feed Airport Surface Surveillance Capability (ASSC): ASDE-X without the SMR Deployed at SFO, with CLE in process 35 ASDE-X Airports ATL DFW IAH MEM PHX BDL DTW JFK MIA SAN BOS EWR LAS MKE SDF BWI FLL LAX MSP SEA CLT HNL LGA ORD SLC DCA HOU MCO PHL SNA DEN IAD MDW PVD STL Advanced Airside Communications and Surveillance Technologies 2

Surveillance Technologies ADS-B Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) provides position and identification of equipped aircraft and vehicles on the airport surface, and aircraft within the US national airspace (NAS) with 99.999% availability Airport movement area data is integrated into ASDE-X and ASSC feeds (37 airports) All other data is available to airports through the Harris NextGen Data Feed Non-movement area coverage at ASDE-X and ASSC airports, surface coverage at non- ASDE-X/ASSC airports, and airborne coverage No near term plans for on-ramping ADS-B data in SWIM ADS-B National Status 658 total sites are on the air 663 total sites will be in service in 2015 (1 Alaska North Slope, 3 Mexico Gulf Coast, & 1 CLT WAM) Advanced Airside Communications and Surveillance Technologies 3

ADS-B Radio Station and Radar Network Harris Operates the Largest Air Traffic Control Surveillance Network in the World Harris 658+ ADS-B radio station network also receives and processes data from over 425 FAA radar systems and 36 ASDE-X/ASSC Systems. > 1,100 air traffic surveillance sensors on the NextGen surveillance data network Advanced Airside Communications and Surveillance Technologies 4

ADS-B Benefits Keys Benefits to Date Safety Decreased search and rescue time i.e. a decrease of 2.5 hours in Colorado by reduction of search area from 255 sq. mi to 3 sq. mi (non-radar airspace, WAM) More than 30% reduction of accident rates for equipped aircraft in Alaska 16% reduction in weather-related accidents in Gulf of Mexico due to AWOS data Environment 98 lbs. fuel savings per IFR helicopter flights in the Gulf of Mexico, and associated reduction of CO 2 emissions Efficiency Over 400% increased capacity for low altitude flights in the GOM and over 400,000 nm distance savings Increase of 4-8 arrivals/hour at Colorado WAM-supported airports Reduced delays due to weather for equipped aircraft Jet Blue flying ADS-B only routes between Miami and western US cities when weather disrupts primary routes Equipage Status Mandate finalized for 2020 equipage ~19% of tracks observed Air Carrier equipped; ~2.5% of tracks observed GA equipped FAA is incentivizing GA to equip Currently GA costs ~$4K (including install) Advanced Airside Communications and Surveillance Technologies 6

Surveillance Technologies ADS-B Provides complete surface surveillance Augments ASDE-X / ASSC systems by providing coverage in the movement and non-movement areas for all equipped aircraft at once a second update rates ASDE-X outage does not result in a complete loss of data as the ADS-B equipped aircraft are still visible Location and unique ID of surface vehicles equipped with ADS-B squitters (VMATs) at once a second update rates Advanced Airside Communications and Surveillance Technologies 7
