We have one more day this year to listen to the political campaigns. Will Rogers actually nominated Henry Ford for President on May 31, 1923 in New York City. He said Democrats are the middle of the road party, Republicans are the straddle the road party and dubbed Henry Ford as head of what he called the "All Over The Road" party; his speech said Mr. Ford should win the election since he already carries 2/3rd of the American public and concluded with the remark, "There's no reason there shouldn't be a Ford in the White House, they're everywhere else.

Throughout Model "A" production, only four tires per car were installed at the factory. The spare was added by dealers at extra cost. No whitewall tires were installed at the factory. They were added by dealers at extra cost. Some of the whitewall tires were white on both inside and outside. Last month's "What is it?" There was six tire makers used by Ford. Who were the six tire makers that Ford used on the Model "A" Ford? Next Board Meeting The next board meeting will be Wed. April 20 at 2pm at Riss house. POINTS With original points, as the plastic rubbing block wears, and the point gap closes, does that also slightly advance the timing or retard it? The spark is generated when the points open (not close) and collapse the magnetic field in the coil. So a worn rubbing block will allow the points to stay closed longer retarding the spark. Do you know what grinds my gears? Driving with an unsynchronized gearbox. What is it? Tires March 10, 2016, Meeting Minutes President Ron Lawson called the meeting to order, welcomed 32 members and new member, Roger Dean from Hayden, IN to the March meeting. Everyone is also asked to drive their Model A cars to the meet, as this adds a lot to the enjoyment of the event. All our indoor spaces have been rented, but there is plenty of space outdoors. Please be sure to bring something to sell at the club table. This is becoming more successful each year and is 100% profit. So bring some of your unwanted parts, tires, collectibles, whatever, and we will put them on the club table for sale. --Larry Morlock Notes from the Swap Meet Kitchen: Jane Herbert It's that time of year again--swap MEET! Since this swap meet is our major money making project, we are all responsible for helping the club. Helping in the kitchen is one way to help. Each member family is responsible for bringing a pie to the meet by 9 AM Sunday morning. We also ask that each family donate either money or, hot dogs and buns, or sandwich buns-two 12 ct. packages for sloppy joes, or money to cover meat for sloppy joes, or money for soft drinks and coffee. Please contact Jane Herbert to sign up for your donation. Also, we have a schedule for workers in the kitchen--you may sign up for as much time that you can help.
