Reus Reus is in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, Spain. The area has always been famous for producing wines and spirits. It is a commercial city The famous architect Antoni Gaudi grew up here.
Antoni Gaudi lived between 1852 and 1926 and created a new style of Architecture called Catalan Modernism. He used shapes from nature in his buildings. His most famous building is the Sagrada Família cathedral in Barcelona. Many buildings in Reus have been built in the Modernist style. Reus is the Catalan Capital of Culture 2017.

Things to see in Reus Gaudi Museum This is in the Market Square (called Mercadal Plaça in Spanish) in the city centre. There is also a tourist office, a shop and a restaurant. The Museum of Reus The Museum of Reus is on Raval de Santa Anna The Library The Public Library Xavier Amorós is on Carrer de l Escorxador Xavier Amorós Solà is a famous poet and writer who comes from Reus. The Market The Central Market is on Carrer de Sant Joan.

Walk around Reus. Modernist Buildings This walk goes through the centre of Reus. You will see many buildings of the Catalan Modernism style. The pavement might be uneven on this walk, but it is mostly accessible to wheelchair users.
The walk starts at Casa Navàs on Plaça del Mercadal Casa Navàs This is one of the best examples of a building in the European Art Nouveau style. If you want to look around it, you have to book at the tourist office. Walk down Carrer de Monterols and turn right into Raval de Santa Anna. At the junction with Carrer de Santa Anna is the very unusual building Casa Marco Casa Marco was built in 1926. It has an unusual corner with a square and round box shape. Now go back down Raval de Santa Anna and turn right into Carrer de Llovera. On your left, you will see
Casa Bartolí This building is unusual because the front is all carved stone. It was built in 1903. Carry on down Carrer de Llovera until you see, on your right Casa Punyed This house is in a style called Neo- Gothic. It has an interesting design based on plants. At the end of Carrer de Llovera turn left and walk down Avinguda de Prat de la Riba. On your right, you will see Casa Sardà This house was built in 1896. It has a mixture of designs. The windows of the upper floor are unusual.
At the end of Avinguda de Prat de la Riba, on the left hand corner with Passeig de Sunyer is Prat de la Riba school This college was built between 1908 and 1917. It is still used today. Go along Passeig de Sunyer and turn left at the round about which is Plaza de las Ocas. Go down Carrer de Sant Joan. On your right, you will see Casa Gasull Built in 1911. Part of the walls have been decorated with little bits of pottery brought from Milan. Next door is
Casa Rull Casa Rull was built in 1900. Opposite is Tuberculosis dispensary Opposite is the Casa Sagarra. Go down to the end of Carrer de Sant Joan, which brings you back to La Plaça Prim. Go back down Carrer de Monterols until you arrive back at the Market square (Plaça del Mercadal).

It has a lovely view on the bell tower of the Prioral de Sant Pere and Plaça del Mercadal.
