AERONUTICS EDUCATION AND SERVICE IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC GA AEROHOLDING GA AEROHOLDING a.s. Member of Eastern Europe Aviation Association

History During the last century, the Czech Republic has made the significant progress from the lower categories of aviation production to more sophisticated products of this industry, such as production of training, sport, and aerobatic airplanes and gliders, small passenger airplanes, as well as military jets. The aircraft production was logically followed by the development of supporting industries the school system from apprenticeship to the university level education; aviation schools; companies specializing in the manufacture of aircraft parts, avionics and engines; side by side organizations authorized to provide maintenance from the basic service check to the general overhaul and aircraft inspection. Given the relatively small area of the Czech Republic, a significant advantage is the dense network of 91 general aviation airports, out of which 24 airports are international and five of them are designed for commercial air transport. Considering the rich aviation heritage of the Czech Republic, the country is endowed with the uniquely strong aviation industry, supported by above-average number of aviation specialists - from airplane designers to the maintenance staff. For the high degree of Czech Republic s specialization in the aviation industry speak the following numbers: Specialization in Aerospace Aerospace at Czech Universities Availability of Scientist and Engineers USA UK Czech Republic Germany Poland Hungary Slovak Republic Bulgaria Romania 0 0.5 1 1.5 2 2.5 3 1,341 20,431 1,453 22,470 1,715 23,004 1,956 24,117 2,231 24,251 2,660 23,723 2,844 23,069 2,766 21,863 Students of aerospace specialization Students of other specializations related to aerospace 2005/2006 2006/2007 2007/2008 2008/2009 2009/2010 2010/2011 2011/2012 2012/2013 USA UK Czech Republic Germany Hungary Poland Slovak Republic Romania Bulgaria 0 1 2 3 4 5 6
