Day 2: Monday, May 12, 2014 Calgary - Banff This morning, leave Calgary behind as you head into the wondrous Rockies. Travel through the prairies of Alberta to the Kananaskis Valley. Make a visit to a local ranch for some leisure time. Play a game of horseshoes, take a line dancing lesson and embark on a wagon ride* to view some buffalo. Then, enjoy a traditional Albertan barbeque with beautiful views of the mountains in the background. Later, arrive in the town of Banff and settle in at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Next, enjoy a visit to Field, a cozy town known for its charm, nestled in the grand Canadian Rockies. Later, travel along Kicking Horse River to visit the Natural Bridge. Next, set off on a scenic drive through Banff that features the powerful Bow Falls and Hoodoos known as the Land of the Sleeping Giants. (B) Day 5: Thursday, May 15, 2014 Banff - Icefields Parkway - Jasper Today you ll journey along the unforgettable Icefields Parkway. Waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks, imposing cliffs and snowcapped peaks paint the breathtaking
canvas! Reflect on this inspiring landscape at Peyto Lake, a turquoise glacier-fed treasure. At the Columbia Icefield, ride** across a mass of glacial ice over 1,000 feet thick the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic Circle. Then, take a guided walk on the Skywalk to experience breathtaking views of the Sunwapta Valley and the dramatic landscape from the glass floored platform. As you continue down the parkway, be on the lookout for bears, furry marmots and stately elk. Enjoy a stop at the Athabasca Falls and marvel at its sheer beauty and power.
