What makes London a great city? London is the capital of the United Kingdom and the biggest city in the European Union. It is one of the world s business, financial and cultural centres. Many major global companies have their headquarters in the City of London. London contains alsofour World Heritage sites: the Tower of London; Kew Gardens; the area comprising the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey and St. Margaret's Church; and the historic settlement of Greenwich.
