Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of D-Day, four Pipe Bands from various parts of the country will come to Dawlish and do a march past from the Museum to The Lawn. So much to see and do Whatever the weather! With events all year round, there s always lots to do in Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. See great shows at the Shaftesbury Theatre, exhibitions at Dawlish Museum and don t miss our week-long Carnival or the fantastic Air Show. Explore our beautiful sandy beaches, walk along the scenic coastal path to Dawlish Warren or simply stroll along the promenade and soak up the atmosphere in Dawlish town centre. Treat yourself to a delicious coffee and cake or see if you can find a hidden gem in one of our independent shops. Dawlish is also home to the Monkey House Soft Play Café with regular events and a seaside amusement arcade. Mini Golf Fun for all the family. Close to the seafront and the lawn. Open 11am-4pm everyday during the Easter and Whitsun holidays and weekends until the school summer holidays. Family tickets for just 10.50. Dawlish Museum has a fascinating variety of collections including Victorian, militaria, weapons, costume and textiles, arts and crafts and information on medicine, science and technology, transport, local history and industry. Open from May until September, Wednesday to Friday 10.30am until 5pm and Saturdays and Sundays 2pm until 4pm. In August it will be open every day. Waterfowl Enclosure The Brook in Dawlish has been home to the Black Swans since the early 1900 s. There are also other Waterfowl such as Chinese and African Geese that can be seen enjoying this tranquil space. Within the Waterfowl enclosure you can see various species including Carolina Ducks, Crested Bantam Ducks, Call Ducks, Bahama Pintail Ducks, Mandarin Ducks and Black East Indies. The breeding season starts In March and chicks are usually available to see in the viewing window from March September. There are regular table-top sales, art exhibitions and a variety of films are also shown using the latest cinema equipment. The building that is now the Shaftesbury Theatre was constructed in 1881 and had been used for meetings and a variety of social gatherings prior to being a theatre. Dawlish Library is an excellent resource in the heart of the town. Facilities include PCs with internet access, music, audio books, language courses, activities and events for children, free WiFi, chill out space for young people and more.
