29 January 2013 Dear Port Integration Partners Invitation to Port Integration Final Conference 4/5/6 March, Ipswich, UK We are delighted to invite you to attend the Port Integration Final Conference in Ipswich UK on 4/5/6 March 2013. Under the title "Aspects of future port strategies in Europe", the INTERREG IVC project Port Integration, led by Hamburg Ministry for Economy, Transport and Innovation, is celebrating its closing conference on 4-6 March 2013 in Ipswich/United Kingdom. Port Integration brings together port experts from 9 different European countries and Russia to exchange their experiences in European and regional strategies for maritime transport and port strategy including policy to jointly improve and transfer them. The conference will show results achieved within the. Main activities during the project have been devoted to the exchange of experiences among the regions in order to transfer, adapt and incorporate their preferred Good Practices into their local and regional policies and processes. Of strong focus were issues of "Maritime Transport and Port Interfaces" (PCS) and "Hinterland Transport, Gateways, Dry ports and other innovative logistic concepts". Starting on Monday 4 March with an informal supper for partners, the formal conference and dinner will be on Tuesday 5 March. We are proposing to organise, courtesy of the Port of Felixstowe, a venue for a final project meeting and port tour, followed by lunch on Wednesday 6 March and it would be helpful to know if you would be interested in attending this. A draft conference agenda is attached. This may change. We also enclose hotel details, information about routes to Ipswich from various airports and two useful maps. Please advise if you will be attending the conference and the final meeting and port tour in Felixstowe on the Wednesday.
