Greetings from the YMCA of the ROCKIES Program Department The Program Department welcomes you! During your stay with us, we hope you will allow nature to inspire your adventure. We offer a wide range of programs for everyone! Some programs are scheduled in advance and you will need to sign up, indicated by the in our program descriptions on page 5. Programs not requiring sign-up are described on pages 5 and 7, or are available during facility hours listed on page 6. On-line registrations are powered by Active.com at https://apm.activecommunities.com/ymcarockiesepcprograms/home SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES Through faith based programs and activities, the YMCA of the Rockies Chapel Ministry seeks to create a culture that is spiritually engaging, safe, and respectful of all. 2 24/7 Prayer Chapel Need a quiet place to pray, reflect, or meditate? Dannen Chapel, entrance located on the outside northeast corner of Hyde Chapel, is open 24/7 for your prayer needs. When the chapel is being used for a special event, group, or wedding, a notice will be posted and it will not be available to the public. Prayer Tr ail The Prayer Trail is located outside between the Legett Christian Center and the Schlessman Executive Offices. Brochures about the trail are located in the mailbox at the start of the trail. Labyrinth - A Labyrinth is a spiritual tool, a path of prayer, a walking meditation. Our Labyrinth is designed out of stones and located behind the Museum. Brochures about the Labyrinth and how to walk the Labyrinth are located at the starting point. Take some time to walk the Labyrinth and enjoy a time of peace and prayer! Lawn Games Located on the west side of Hyde Chapel, there is a storage bin full of lawn games for your enjoyment! Feel free to play these games on the Hyde Chapel lawn anytime you wish! Games include bocce ball, ladder golf, yard darts, toss across, corn hole, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and the ever-impressive JUMBO Connect 4! Please return games to storage bin when finished. Sunday, Novem ber 22: 10:00 AM W ORSHIP IN THE ROCKIES - Guests and Staff are invited to a great hour of worship in Ponder Chapel for people of all denominations and people of all ages. Dress is always mountain casual and weather appropriate. Come early and enjoy coffee, hot chocolate and tea, and breakfast pastries as we fellowship together before worship! Individuals, couples, families and groups are always welcome to Worship in the Rockies as we seek to make this your church home away from home. Our Program Department building is called Sweet Memorial, and is a log building located just west of the Administration Building parking lot. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about programs, come by or give us a call at 970-586-3341 ext. 1104. EQUIPMENT CHECK-OUT: A variety of equipment is available for daily check-out at Sweet Memorial. All equipment must be returned at least a half hour before Sweet closes; check facility hours page. The only exceptions are board games and puzzles, which can be kept overnight. FREE: Basketballs, board and card games, bocce balls, cones, footballs and flags, frisbees, hiking boots, horseshoes, kickballs, puzzles, skittles (in Sweet), soccer balls, team vests, and volleyballs. DEPOSIT: Disc golf ($10 per disc). Ask for a map to our course. DAILY RENTALS: Day packs ($5), Kid carriers ($10), Microspikes ($10) Snowshoes ($10 adult, $5 child), Strollers ($5), Trekking poles ($5) DAY PASSES: If you wish to use our facilities and are not staying on grounds at the YMCA of the Rockies AND you are not a member of the YMCA of the Rockies or another YMCA, you need to purchase a Day Pass wrist band at the Adminstration Building or Sweet Memorial: $20 - Adults age 13 and up $10 - Children age 6-12 FREE - Children under 6 YMCA members who are not staying on grounds, please come get a free wrist band. CAMPFIRES: Due to the high risk of forest fires in the area, campfires are not always permitted on the YMCA grounds. When permitted, campfires are restricted to designated fire rings located throughout the property. Please call Sweet at ext. 1104 to request a fire ring reservation. The reservation cost of $20 includes use of the site and 2 bundles of wood, plus you ll need to make a $5 cash deposit for a water bucket. Individual bundles of firewood are also for sale at Sweet Memorial, or at the Administration Building after Sweet closes, for $4.50 plus tax. 3

BINGO All Ages Join other guests for an hour of fun and prizes! Meet in Sweet Memorial. CHESS CLUB 2 Hours All Ages Kids must be with an adult. Just show up at the Maude Jellison Library (or call Ext. 1133 to sign up) to see who else shares your love of this classic game. CHILDREN S MOVIE 2 Hours All Ages Kids must be with an adult. A Disney Classic movie is shown in the Maude Jellison Youth Library. FIVE SENSES 1/2 Hour Age 2-6 Come learn how we explore the mountain environment around us using our senses. Short walk required. Meet in Sweet Memorial. Icon means you must sign up online or at Sweet Memorial. FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS Age 8+ Learn how to make 2 different styles of friendship bracelets. Meet in Sweet Memorial. GEOCACHING 1 1/2 Hours Age 8+ Bring your smartphone or GPS as we find the different caches around our grounds. Meet in Sweet Memorial. KICKBALL Age 4+ Join us for some outdoor kicking and running fun. Meet at baseball backstop. KNOTS Age 8+ What s a Half Hitch? What s a Bowline? Come learn some useful knots. Meet in Sweet Memorial. LITTLE EXPLORERS Ages 4-10 Learn about the 10 essentials for hiking before we head outside for a treasure hunt. Meet in Sweet Memorial. NATURE ART 3/4 Hour Age 4+ Join us as we explore outside and find nature we can make into awesome art. Meet in Sweet Memorial. NATURE GRAPHICS 3/4 Hour Age 4+ Make a picture frame using pieces of nature and special sun-sensitive paper to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Meet in Sweet Memorial. PATHFINDER 1 1/2 Hour Age 6+ (under 9 needs an adult to assist) Learn to use a map and compass to do some basic orienteering. Meet in Sweet Memorial. S MORES All Ages Come join us as we make the perfect camp snack. You ll want s more! Meet in Sweet Memorial. SPIRIT ANIMAL ADVENTURE 3/4 Hour Age 2+ Do you know what your spirit animal is? Come find it with help from our staff. We ll take a walk through the woods and help you connect with your spirit animal. Meet in Sweet Memorial. SURVIVAL 1 1/2 Hours Age 8+ Do you know what it takes to survive in the Rockies? Learn how not to get lost, or what to do if you do. Find out what STOP means, and how to build fires. Meet in Sweet Memorial. VOLLEYBALL Age 6+ We ll hit the courts for fun wtih one of our favorite sports. Meet in Longhouse. YOGA, MULTI-LEVEL Join instructor Laura Collins for integral yoga with a vinyasa flair, suited for all levels. Class focuses on beginners yet more advanced postures are suggested for those who are able. Each class ends in a deep relaxation. Meet in Legett Youth Building. 5

Hear a speech by President Roosevelt as he shares his passion for conservation in the west. Performance will last approximately 20 minutes, followed by time for questions. Best for adults and children over 12. 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Turkey Crafts. Join us in Sweet Memorial for a cornucopia of coloring and crafts. 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Family Movie - A Christmas Story. Join us in Hempel Program Building for this nostalgic tale of Ralphie s 1940 s Christmas wish. 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM: S mores. Gather around our fireplace inside Sweet Memorial to enjoy your favorite camp snack. Saturday, November 28th 1:00 PM: President Theodore Roosevelt at the Maude Jellison Library. Hear a speech by President Roosevelt as he shares his passion for conservation in the west. Performance will last approximately 20 minutes, followed by time for questions. Best for adults and children over 12. 7:00 PM: Mountian Man Iron Thumb. This one-man performance in the Legett Youth Building takes you back to the Mountain Men who first came to the Estes Park area, in search of furs and adventure. 7

8TH ANNUAL YMCA OF THE ROCKIES 5K TURKEY TROT Thursday, November 26th race starts at 8:00 am HEMPEL BUILDING AT THE ESTES PARK CENTER Come join us on Thursday, November 26th at 8:00 a.m. for our 8th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run/Walk. A free will donation will be accepted to support our summer day camp scholarship program. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a six-foot leash at all times. Pre-registration is now open online: http://ymcarockies.org/events/ Day of registration will open at 7:00 am at the Hempel Program building which is located directly North of Sweet Memorial.
