OVERVIEW In this splendid Central European trip, we will travel through the heart of the old Habsburg empire. Our trip begins and ends in Munich and, along the way, we ll spend the night in some of the most exciting Central European cities: Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Salzburg, and Munich. In Prague, we will see the Charles Bridge, of 1357, one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe, the Jewish quarter, and the famous Astronomical Clock, built in 1410, which shows a sinister figure medieval death emerging to pull the Bell rope. In Vienna, we will visit the Hofburg Palace, the palace complex in the heart of Vienna and political focal point of the Austrians, the Heldenplatz, and the Church of San Esteban. Will also visit the monumental Palace of Schoenbrunn, a true architectural jewel. In Budapest, we will see the building of the Parliament, World Heritage site and considered one of the most beautiful in the world, and the fisherman's Bastion, which dominates the city. In Nuremberg, stroll through the charming pedestrian old town with its impressive medieval walls. In Salzburg, we will walk through the picturesque streets of the city center and perhaps visit the House of Mozart, or sit in a cafe with a cup of coffee and a slice of delicious cake.
