Touring around the famous Dômes de la Vanoise, a group of glaciers extending over twenty kilometers in the centre of the Park articulating on a south-north axis. Along with the glaciers, the tour passes at the foot of the famous Grande Casse, the highest summit of Savoie, its summit at 3855m. It was in 1860 that a rich Englishman, helped by a courageous woodsman who cut more than 800 steps in the ice, enabling the summit to be reached for the first time. The Vanoise is remarkable for the richness of its flora and fauna.
