History Fiji Gateway Hotel is located conveniently across the road from the entrance of Nadi International Airport. The hotel was constructed by Naviti Investments Ltd in 1965 and started trading as Fiji Gateway Hotel. The hotel opened with a total of 103 rooms, comprising of 56 Deluxe Rooms, 42 Standard Rooms and 5 Suites. By mid-1970, the hotel had become one of the most popular hotels in the Nadi area. Later in 1978 the hotel was bought by Burns Philip Ltd and a major renovation to the property was carried out. A new room category was introduced by 1980, some of the Standard Rooms were also refurbished and converted to Family Rooms. In 1983 it was announced that the hotel was sold to Castaway Resorts Fiji Ltd and they renamed the property to Castaway Gateway Hotel. The hotel carried on its usual operations for a few years but faced a major blow on 14th May 1987 when the nation faced two military coups in a single year that caused a slump in tourism. It took the nation 4 years to recover and in 1989 Castaway Gateway Hotel was bought by Reginald Raffe and he rebranded the property to Raffles Gateway Hotel. In addition to taking over the hotel, Mr. Raffe invested money into the property by adding in a conference room and 2 new Suites to the Hotel. After Reginald Raffe passed away in 2014, his children (Reardon, Hannah, Jayson & Barron) decided to rebrand the hotel once again to its original name, Fiji Gateway Hotel, in 2016. Today the hotel operates with a total of 95 rooms, a restaurant, boutique shop, bar, gym, tennis court and 2 swimming pools. Fiji Gateway Hotel is valued for its convenient location and provides pre and post accommodation for an island stay, a place of business for corporate travellers or a comfortable room for those who like to book last minute. 3

General Information Airport Transfers A 24-hour courtesy bus transfer is available to both the International and Domestic Airports, this service takes approximately 3-5 minutes. Please call our Porter on extension 1960 to request this service. Check in & Check out times Check in time is 2:00 pm & Check out is at 10:00 am. Should you wish to occupy your room past this time, check with Reception on room availability. Also upon check-out, please return your room keys. Church Service Please contact Reception on Ext 1960 for information on a local church service. Credit Card Credit Cards accepted at the hotel are American Express, Diners Club, Master Card & Visa. Currency Exchange Currency notes and travelers cheques may be arranged at Reception. Cyclone During a Cyclone Warning period, an information bulletin board will be set up in the lobby & updated regularly. Once a cyclone alert is issued please refrain from wandering about the property in case of flying debris. Management will keep you informed at all times. 5
Departure Airlines recommend that passengers check in 3 hours before their departing flight. Please contact Reception if you would like a Wake-Up Call. It is the responsibility of the guest to arrive at the Airport on time for check-in, the Hotel takes no responsibility for missed flights due to Wake Up Calls or any other reason. Drones Due to our close proximity to the Nadi International Airport, it puts Fiji Gateway Hotel in a no drone zone territory. Out of safety concerns for guests, associates & hotel property, as well as concerns for individual privacy, Fiji Gateway Hotel prohibits the unauthorized operation or use of unmanned aerial systems, or drones, by hotel guests, visitors & media. This prohibition includes drones used for filming or videotaping. This prohibition on drone operations, or use, extends to any drones launched or operated from hotel property, as well as drones launched from private property outside of the hotel boundaries. Duty Manager A Duty Manager is available 24 hours for assistance or any concerns you might have. Please call 1901 if you would like to speak with him / her. Electricity Adaptors and Transformers can be purchased at the Boutique Shop. Lost & Found Please contact the Duty Manager on Ext 1901 if you have lost any of your personal items & provide him / her with the details. 6
Medical If you require medical assistance, we can connect you to a doctor. There are also public hospitals in Nadi and Lautoka and transportation can be arranged. Please contact Reception on Ext 1960 or the Duty Manager on Ext 1901. Room Keys Please return your keys to Reception for safekeeping whenever leaving the Hotel. 7
Guest Services Air Conditioning The air conditioner in your room has individual controls located next to the unit. If you are having trouble with your air conditioner, please contact Reception on Ext 1960 for assistance. Baby Sitting Babysitting services can be arranged with the Duty Manager. Please dial 1901. (Prior booking required) Bar Fiji Gateway Hotel s famous Bar serves beverages and local cocktails daily from 7am 12am daily. Beds and Pillows If you require an extra bed or extra pillows, please call Reception on Ext 1960. Boutique Shop Our Boutique Shop opens at 7am and closes at 9pm daily. You will find clothes, souvenirs, reading materials, gifts, newspapers, magazines and accessories available at this shop. Café Our Cafe offers a variety of hot & cold beverages daily from 7am - 9 pm. Hair Dresser If you would like to use the services of a hairdresser during your stay with us, please contact Reception on Ext 1960 for information. 8
Housekeeping Service For our housekeeping service, please call on Ext 1960. Ironing Facilities An Ironing Room is located at every block in the Hotel. If you have any queries about the closest location to your room, please call Reception on Ext 1960. Laundry A laundry service is available daily for a fee. Please have your laundry bag with completed laundry list outside your door by 8:30 am and it will be returned in the evening. Laundry bags and slip are in the dresser drawers in your room. Mail If you would like a letter or postcard posted, please drop it off at Reception. Postage stamps are available at the Boutique Shop. Pool Towels Pool towels are available from Reception, please sign them in and out when taking and returning towels. A charge of FJ$10.00 will be added to your bill if the towels are not returned at the end of the day. Porter Please call Reception on Ext 1960 at least 30 minutes prior to your departure if you would like to arrange a porter service. 9
Restaurant Palm Court Restaurant offers all day dining from 5.30 am - 10.30 pm every day, featuring a range of menus for breakfast, lunch & dinner or light snacks in between. Television There are 8 channels on your TV which include sports, movies and news channels. Valuables We recommend that our guests always keep their valuables in the safe provided in the room or leave them with Front Desk for safekeeping. The Hotel will not be held liable for any loss of money or valuables from a guest room. Wake-Up Call Please contact Reception on Extension 1960 to arrange a wake up call. 10

Recreation Facilities Fitness Centre (Gym) Open from 6am - 9pm daily. Contact Reception for more information. Swimming pools & water slide We have 2 swimming pools at Fiji Gateway Hotel. A smaller Quiet Pool is located next to the Restaurant along with a heated Spa for relaxing. Our larger Resort Pool is located outside past the bar area and this has a water slide, a favourite with kids! Please feel free to enjoy these facilities during your stay. Tennis The Hotel s tennis courts are complimentary for all in-house guests, tennis rackets and balls are available at Reception. Environmental Initiatives Water Usage Water scarcity is a recognised global problem, and it is certainly a challenge in Fiji. At Fiji Gateway Hotel, we do everything we can to conserve water and there are a number of ways that you can help during your stay with us: Turn off Tap Did you know that keeping the tap on whilst brushing your teeth can use up to 800 litres of water per room per month? Please help us by turning off the tap whilst you are in the process of brushing your teeth. Pool Towels Whilst we allow guests to change their pool towels every day, we recommend that you only return and replenish pool towels once every 2 days. This helps minimise washing and water usage. Room Towels You can help us conserve water by not getting the towels in your room washed every day. If you would like your towels to be changed, please leave them on the floor. Electricity Usage Whilst we are working to implement more environmentally friendly power sources for our future (such as solar), you can help us minimise electricity usage during your stay. Please remember to turn off all the lights, fans and air-conditioners when you leave the room, even if it is for a few hours. Pool Toys If you bring inflatable beach or pool toys to enjoy on your holiday, we ask that you please deflate them, fold them up and take them back with you to your home. Most plastic does not biodegrade and there is a high risk of damaging Fiji s precious environment. 14

Bus Transfers to Port Denarau If you are travelling to Plantation Island Resort, Lomani Island Resort or Musket Cove Resort, Malolo Cat offers a complimentary shuttle service from Fiji Gateway Hotel to Port Denarau and Port Denarau to Fiji Gateway Hotel.
