In 1753, the island was renamed Simmons Island by its new owner, Ebenezer Simmons, whose grandson cultivated the island s next great source of revenue, cotton. Finally, in 1816, its new owner William Seabrook christened the island with the name that it remains to this day. And Today Seabrook presents a unique opportunity to truly experience the beauty of the sea islands.
