Winterton Winterton-on-Sea is an idyllic small, ancient fishing village some 8 miles north of Great Yarmouth. It boasts a beautiful sandy and largely unspoiled Norfolk beach backed by a peaceful dunes nature reserve that has been deemed to be an Area of outstanding Natural Beauty. An ideal destination for bird watchers and walkers, the dunes are home to all sorts of wildlife, including Terns, rare Natterjack Toads and the famous seal colony just north of Winterton Beach itself. If you re hungry or thirsty there s a Fish & Chip shop, the 300 year old Fisherman s Return pub and the Beach Café; ideal for tea and cake or even an Ice Cream. Caister on Sea This popular and very beautiful seaside resort is steeped in history, not least with the remains of a Roman fort built in 200AD. Caister is a great place to enjoy some of Britain s most picturesque and family-friendly coastline, with kids playparks and refreshments all along the beach front. It s also an ideal location to fly a kite from the beach! And it s also great for walkers too! The 90 foot tower remains intact and a climb to the top offers a magnificent view of the castle ruins and the surrounding area. Get off near the Police Station & head down Beach Road to find the beach. Hemsby & Hemsby Beach Amazing beaches and sand dunes are one of the major draws of Hemsby with its miles of sandy coastline. You ll find a number of attractions including ten-pin bowling, fun fairs, go-karting, and the Lost World adventure golf. And if it s wet, why not take the kids to MB s Funhouse indoor play area with its slides, cargo nets and ball pits. Shops and amusement arcades with Bingo games and every type of slot machine imaginable ensure there s something to amuse everyone. A variety of seaside-style cafes and restaurants are available, offering sit-down meals and everyone s favourite: fish & chips. Great Yarmouth The east coast s premier seaside resort, a visit to Great Yarmouth is ideal for a fun-packed day out with loads to see and do alongside a superb choice of places to eat and drink and beautiful wide, sandy beaches stretching as far as the eye can see. The town centre has a historic market with its renowned collection of chip stalls, whose 30+ traders are open 6 days a week with a much larger market on Wednesday, Saturday and Friday. Meanwhile, the modern Market Gates Shopping Centre is home to many popular high street names. A short walk from the town centre along Regent Road (lined with novelty shops, cafes and restuarants and a Bowling Alley) is the Buses in & around Gt Yarmouth The best place to get on and off our buses in Great Yarmouth is at Market Gates Bus Station. All our buses go there and it s right in the town centre, next to the shops & market. The seafront is just a short walk down Regent Road. However, if you want to save your legs... get to the Pleasure Beach on a 2 up to every 10 mins ride along the Seafront on a 3 every hour Fast buses to & from Norwich X1 X11 Market Gates Bus Station is the best place to jump on one of our fast buses to Norwich Bus Station. They leave up to every 15 mins and take just 40 mins Golden Mile, with it s two piers, gardens, numerous adventure golf courses, arcades, cafes, bars and restaurants and the Marina Leisure Centre, complete with swimming pool, slides and soft play area. For thrill seekers a visit to the Pleasure Beach with it s famous wooden rollercoaster is a must, whilst Joyland has plenty of rides for younger children. Gorleston Sitting below cliff gardens and a grand promenade, Gorleston s glorious beach is a firm favourite with locals and visitors for lazy days in the sun. You can enjoy a large paddling pool and yacht pond, cliffs, beautiful lawns, bowling greens, tennis courts and a trim-trail on the cliff top where views of the beach, harbour, pier and wind turbines can be seen. Behind the promenade, beachside cafes and shops sell a wide selection of goods from multi-coloured buckets and spades to trendy sunshades and beach wear. Gorleston has an Edwardian theatre with seaside shows throughout the summer season and a popular dining and dancing venue. Lowestoft Sitting proudly in the northernmost part of the stunning Suffolk coast is Lowestoft. Famous for being the most easterly town and the first place to see the sunrise in the UK, this traditional seaside town s award winning Blue Flag beach is a firm favourite with families. With wide golden sands, beach huts and two piers, it s perfect for swimming and paddling, building sandcastles or enjoying a stroll along the prom or through the Victorian seafront gardens. Also one of the east coast s best places to do lunch, there s some great cafes & restaurants where you can enjoy delicious, homemade food overlooking the sea. A pleasant walk south along the Victorian promenade (or even a short bus journey) brings you to the pretty former fishing village of Pakefield. This is home to historic pubs, a church situated on the cliff top, restaurants with sea views and cute cafes serving tea and cakes. The town centre itself lies to the north of the mouth of the river Waveney and boasts a fully pedestrianised shopping area with a wide range of household names. Or head up into the historic High Street and explore The Scores trail: a series of narrow lanes created over the years by people forming paths in the cliff as they travelled between the historic High Street and the Beach Village. The seafront & beach are an easy 15-20 minute walk south, past the shops & harbour and over the bridge. The bus station is also an ideal place to change buses if you re travelling on from there... north towards Gorleston & Gt Yarmouth buses 1, 1A or X1 up to every 15 mins south along the seafront buses X2, X22 or 99 up to every 10 mins south to Kessingland & Southwold bus 99 up to every 20 mins inland towards Beccles and on to Norwich buses X2 & X22 up to every 15 mins

Oulton Broad Situated a couple of miles inland from Lowestoft, Oulton Broad is one of the finest stretches of inland water in the UK and forms the southern gateway to the Broads National Park. You can enjoy a boat trip or even hire a day launch and take a picnic onto the water. A very popular place to come for watersports such as sailing, canoeing, rowing or fishing, on the banks of the broad you will find Nicholas Everett Park, home to the Lowestoft Museum and a great place for a stroll or to watch the world go by. East Anglia Transport Museum An open-air transport museum where the emphasis is on movement, this is the only museum in the country where visitors can ride on historic trams, trolleybuses, and a narrow-gauge railway all in the setting of a developing street scene, complete with items of genuine historic street furniture. Founded in 1965, this fascinating, interactive museum is run entirely by volunteers and it s extensive collection includes buses, cars, motorbikes, steam rollers, taxis and light commercials. The Tar, Sweat & Steam exhibition tells the story of road building, whilst the railway station, signal box, tram body and post office are packed with information and artefacts. Kessingland Beach One of the few places on the east coast where the sea is receding, Kessingland s huge, unspoilt and growing beach is always a firm favourite with families and has plenty of room for everyone. A short walk from the town is the start of the Beccles Marsh Trails. The Marsh, which was given to the town in 1584 by Queen Elizabeth I is criss-crossed by 3 walks, each varying in distance and character but all allowing you to enjoy the beautiful, unspoilt Suffolk countryside.
