GLACIERS TO JUNGLE: ARGENTINA SEMI LUXURY 9 DAY ADVENTURE Patagonia Glaciers Buenos Aires Iguassu Falls Tuesday : Arrival day and Introduction to Patagonia After arriving in Buenos Aires, experience your first introduction to the Paris of South America while we transfer to the domestic airport, from where we take an afternoon flight to the deep-south town of El Calafate, gateway to the Los Glaciaras National Park Transfer to a lovely hotel and enjoy our incredible opening dinner.

Wednesday : Lago Argentina and Upsala Glacier We set sail on the pristine multi-shaded waters of the Lago Argentina, cruising past magnificent mountains and ice-bergs to the Upsala region of the Las Glaciaras National Park. After close encounters with magnificent blue-colored ice-bergs, we stop near the largest glacier in the park, - the massive Upsala Glacier. After viewing the massive glacier from as close as safety allows, we sail around the peninsula, where we tour a historic Pategonian sheep estancia. We enjoy our packed lunch at the Estancia Café. After lunch, we board board jeeps for a scenic drive up the mountains, with spectacular views of the surrounding Patagonian forests. A short walk up the hill takes us to the summit, where we are rewarded with a panoramic view of the Upsala and the turquoise waters it spills into- the best view of the glaciers available only to the select few who come on this route! We set sail back for El Calafate, memorized by the incredible sights of this truly unique region.

Thursday: Perito Moreno Glacier A magnificent drive from El Calafate along Lago Argentina and the nearby mountains takes us to the Southern side of the Las Glaciares National Park, and one of the world s most beautiful glaciers, the famous Perito Moreno. We spend the afternoon admiring the views of the glacier from the extensive walkways designed for this purpose, hoping to catch and even film a calving, the spectacular scene where large chunks of ice break off the glacier from the summer thaw and crash into the lake below, with a deafening thunder. The fit and adventurous can choose in advance to extend this day by booking an ice-trekking expedition on the glacier, which will take you with crampons, onto the ice itself, and possibly even into the surreal caves and hollows inside the ice. We drive back to El Calafate airport, from where we board our flight back to Buenos Aires, and enjoy dinner at a kosher steakhouse (own charge).

Friday : Buenos Aires Today, we tour the legendary Argentine capital, known in the tourist industry as the Paris of South America. In truth, this bustling modern metropolis has elements of New York, London, Frankfurt, and Venice, all in a Latin American Setting. From the old, colorful soccer-famous barrio of Boca in the south, to the modern Puerto Madero Riverfront, and from the Jewish textile shops and exquisite synagogues of Onse in the West, to the French Cafes and Rodeo Drive style Avenida Alvear of Recoleta in the North, this city has something for everyone. After an incredible day of culture, history, and urban buzz, we check into our lovely hotel, and prepare for Shabbos.

Saturday : Buenos Aires We spend a wonderful Shabbos in one of Buenos Aires historic neighborhoods. This is a day of walking, davening in its synagogues, fine-dining, and exploring the city on foot with one of the city s expert tour guides. Staying in the stylish French neighborhood of Recoleta, we daven in the nearby Chabad, and enjoy an afternoon walking tour of the Recoleta district, enjoying the French architecture, and famous parks. Depending on tour and group, Shabbos might also be spent in the Jewish district of Onse, or in the Northern suburb of Belgrano, with the vibrant Adjut Yisroel community of Rabbi Daniel Oppenheimer, the greatest mover and shaker in Latin American Orthodox Jewish life.

Sun : Buenos Aires Buenos Aires has so much to do that one needs many weeks to fully explore it. Today, we offer a choice of optional activities (extra charge) so everyone can enjoy the region in his own way. One option is a day out in the country with the Gauchos, the Argentinean version of cowboys, where you ride in a chariot, watch a gaucho show, and see the rural life of the famous Argentine Pampas. Another option is enjoying the beauty of the Rio de la Plata, the widest river in the world, on which both Buenos Aires and the Uruguayan Capital, Montevideo, are situated. In addition to the urban parts of the river, which gets as wide as 200km at its widest, there is the nearby Tigre delta, where the many smaller rivers that feed the Rio create an inland delta of islands, river beaches, and a boating paradise where the distant skyline of the city is the only reminder of the urban sprawl so close Those who prefer to remain in the city and explore its many museums, kosher restaurants, theatres houses, and shopping malls, also have this option. Choice needs to be made one month prior to tour- activities for own account.

Monday : Iguassu Falls/Argentina This morning, we fly north, to the jungles, and the world s widest waterfalls, the mighty Iguassu Falls. Spanning 2800m at the meeting point of Argentina, Brazil, and nearby Paraguay, the mighty Iguassu River plunges down to the thunderous roar of the power of water, and the spectacle is indescribable. Today, we explore the falls on the Argentina side, enjoying the numerous trails in the National Park that reward us with sights and sounds most people only dream of. A jungle train takes us along the river banks to a narrow bridge which will takes us to one of the best viewing point of the Falls, the Devil s throat. After getting completely soaked by the spray, we return to the train station, which takes us to the main upper trail of the falls, where we enjoy the many different viewing points of the various falls that make up these mighty cataracts. After enjoying our packed lunch, enjoy a more intense trail below the falls, exploring the wildlife and scenery of the Iguassu jungle while enjoying the falls from a different angle. After a short drive through the jungle, check into our luxury hotel and freshen up for dinner

Tuesday : Iguazu Falls/Brazil Today, we cross the border into Brazil, and view the falls from the opposite side of this massive river. Here, the views are completely different, and the whole panorama of the falls is visible. It is impossible to describe the splendor and uniqueness of both sides of these incredible wonders of nature. One keeps thinking the view cannot get any better, but it just keeps improving! In Brazil, we also approach the falls by boat, and we get soaking wet from the spray and the waves. We also visit the Exotic bird park, home to one of the greatest collection of parrots and Tucons in the world, many indigenous to the region, and some of which we hope to see in the wild in the park as well. This park is a world in its own right, and one even gets the opportunity to have a photo taken with a real live Tucon! We return to our hotel in Argentina for a delicious dinner, the last formal dinner of our memorable trip.

Wednesday : Iguassu Jungle The last morning of our trip is free for extra activities that we didn t manage on the previous days (own cost), including jungle safaris, helicopter rides, or just spa treatments and drinks at our hotel. In the afternoon, we fly back to Buenos Aires on time to connect for our international flights back home. From glaciers to jungle, the Argentine sure does have it all!
