This year we are excited to offer a two-week excursion to Tuscany as part of the Term Two and Term Three experience to our Senior Campers, LT s and Work Crew! You can choose to spend three fun-packed weeks in the Texas Hill Country OR come to CBS for several days, then depart for a twoweek cultural tour of Tuscany based in our castle in Lunigiana. We have contracted through a reputable travel company, and planned out an exciting two-week adventure in Northern Italy for our campers. Sample CBS Tuscany Tour 2008 Itinerary: Term 2 Dates Sunday June 22, 2008: Campers arrive at CBS Monday June 23, 2008 Thursday June 26, 2008: Campers enjoy 4 days of fabulous camp activities Day 1, June 27, Friday: Campers depart Austin, Texas for Milan, Italy. Day 2, June 28, Saturday: Arrive at Milan Airport. Drive to private beach on the Mediterranean Sea for a quick swim before transferring to our very own medieval castle and then on to a leisurely dinner in a local trattoria Day 3, June 29, Sunday: Explore Florence on foot, visiting the Academia, featuring Michaelangelo s David and the Duomo cathedral with plenty of free time for shopping and discovering the Medieval and Renaissance streets of this world-famous city. In the evening, a trip to Fiesole to enjoy some Florentine cuisine in this beautiful rural setting. Day 4, June 30, Monday: Take a boat cruise around Cinque Terre, the five towns that can only be visited by boat as they cling to rocky headland of beautiful cliffs and enjoy an al fresco lunch and the best swimming. Day 5, July 1, Tuesday: Today is a chocolate-lover s delight as we visit Perugia, home of the famous Italian chocolate baci (kisses!) and the city of Assisi, famous for Saint Frances. Day 6, July 2, Wednesday: The morning hosts a guided tour of Montecatini, followed by an afternoon of lounging beach-side at Versilia Beach. Day 7, July 3, Thursday: Hike across the Chianti countryside with a Guide. Visit the famous vineyards, valleys, rivers and atmospheric towns like Greve, where you enjoy a quaint lunch. Enjoy an afternoon of a guided tour of Siena with emphasis on Palio and a visit to the Cathedral. Day 8, July 4, Friday:
Visit the town of San Gimignano, famous for its imposing towers and Vinci, hometown of the famous inventor and Renaissance man, Leonardo de Vinci. Day 9, July 5, Saturday: Experience a bike tour of the medieval walled town of Lucca, complete with piazza built on top of a Roman Amphitheatre and retaining its unique shape. In the afternoon, take a trip to the leaning tower of Pisa. Day 10, July 6, Sunday: Visit Cortona to see the Etruscan remains and have dinner in an Agrotourismo a farming community with specialty Tuscan olive oils, breads and cheeses. Day 11, July 7, Monday: Today is a day for the artists! Today we will have a sketching class in the scenic countryside of Lunigiana, and afternoon visit to Pontremoli, where we will enjoy a cooking demonstration and dinner in a local trattoria. Day 12, July 8, Tuesday: Explore the Tarquinia Necropoli, or cities of the dead, dating back to before the Romans and swim at a private beach in the afternoon along the Maremma Riviera. Day 13, July 9, Wednesday: Spend a free day doing last minute sightseeing and shopping in Florence before we transfer back to Milan prior to our flight home. Day 14, July 10, Thursday: Transfer to Milan for flight home. Day 15, July 11, Friday: Travel day. Campers arrive in Austin, Texas at 9:05pm.
How much will the CBS TUSCANY TOUR 2008 cost? For the entire all-inclusive CBS and international experience, including taxes and airport fees the cost will be $6003 per person. (A portion of this experience is based upon the U.S. Dollar foreign exchange rate; consequently, there is a possibility that the fee may change by 2-4%.) A deposit of $2000 per person is required by November 1, 2007 to confirm a space on the tour. A second deposit of $2001 is required by January 15, 2008. Final payment of $2002 is due no later than March 1, 2008. When must we sign up? As soon as possible! The deadline is January 10, 2008. How do we sign up? Print and fill out the C.E. Terms & Conditions form and CBS Application for Enrollment Form, along with your deposit of $2000, and mail all to Camp Balcones Springs, 104 Balcones Springs Drive, Marble Falls, Texas 78654. What is the cancellation policy? All cancellations of confirmed reservations are subject to forfeiture of an administrative fee of $200 per person until January 15, 2008. All cancellations made between January 16-March 1, 2008 are subject to a forfeiture of $500. After this time, no refund will be made unless the participant s place on the tour has been resold (which could result in additional fees).
