Musical Prague 2009 / 2010 Prague has plenty to offer in terms of music. The package below combines all the highlights of Prague musical heritage from classical music and opera to folklore and black light theatre. It is an excellent way to get an overview of the Musical Prague as well as exploring the most important sights of the Golden City. Arrival guide meets the group at the airport. Transfer to the hotel and check-in (usually possible from 14:00 onwards). 19:00 Opera performance either in the State Opera, National Theatre or the Estates Theatre. First class seats will be booked. Afterwards dinner in a first class restaurant near the opera venue. Transfers can be booked additionally. DAY 2 Guide meets the group at the hotel for a 2-hour walking tour in the Old Town. The tour starts at the Powder Tower and the Municipal House, continues via the Old Town Squareand the Jewish Quarter to the Charles Bridge. The tour finishes with a Backstage visit with the guide in one of the major theatres. The content of the visit varies depending on the theatre or opera venue. Symphony concert either in the Rudolfinum or Smetana Hall or a church concert. Dinner in a first class restaurant near the concert venue. Transfers can be booked additionally. DAY 3 Guide meets the group at the hotel for a tour to the Hradcany and the Prague Castle. Visit the magnificent library of the Strahov Monastery (Philosophical and Theological halls). 13:00 Classical music concert at the Lobkowicz Palace.
It is about 55 minutes concert in the beautifully restored Concert Hall, featuring 17th century painted stucco ceilings. The programs consist of the works of the most famous Czech and international composers, such as Mozart, Vivaldi, Dvořák and Beethoven. The repertoire is performed by an accomplished trio, typically consisting of flute, violin and piano. Visit the impressive Gothic Cathedral of St Vitus, the superb Roman Basilica of St. George and stroll the picturesque Golden Lane. Afterwards descend the Royal stairs down to the historical quarter of Mala Strana. Lunch during the day. Back to the hotel individually. In the evening a Black light theatre performance. The black light theatre is a unique form of theatre originating from the Far East and Prague has become famous for its interpretations. The non-verbal performance presents no language barrier. The black theatre is a synthesis of dramatic art, dance, contemporary music and pantomime. The distinctive feature of black theatre is the use of black curtains, a darkened stage and special lighting paired with fluorescent costumes, in order to create various visual illusions. Dinner in a first class restaurant near the theatre either before or after the performance, depending on the starting time. Transfers can be booked additionally. DAY 4 Morning at leisure 15:00 Guide meets the group at the hotel for a visit to Villa Bertramka, the place where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived and composed during his visits to Prague. A former vineyard manor house from the turn of the 17th century, the property was bought by the singer Josefina Duskova and the pianist/composer Frantisek Xaver Dusek in 1784. Here, in the idyllic environment of Bertramka, Mozart finished the score of Don Giovanni shortly before its memorable first night on October 29, 1787. 17:00 A classical music concert in the villa. Transfers included. 20:00 Dinner with Folklore Show. 3-course menu and unlimited drinks until 22h00 (beer, local wines, non-alcoholic drinks). Show with traditional Moravian music, songs and dances.
