Your application has been received. On behalf of the camp school faculty, we eagerly look forward to having you with us at Rotary Scout Reservation. The Course Director for this camp school will be Richard Stockton. He can be contacted at richard.stockton@scouting.org. A BSA Annual Medical Examination and Health Record, completed within the past 12 months, is required and must be completed prior to your arrival. Please bring the completed form with you. If you do not have this required form, you will need to obtain one at your own expense prior to beginning class. The cost of an on-site physical will be $100. Please download the current BSA Medical Form at: http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/healthandsafety/ahmr.aspx Please plan to arrive between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (local time) on Saturday, June 17. Departure will be on Friday morning, June 23. All participants who are enrolled in any retraining sections will be able to depart after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20.. If you are participating in the Aquatics Section, your class will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16. Friday dinner is included in your fee. If you are participating in the Trek Leader Section, your class will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16. Plan to arrive on Thursday evening. Thursday evening lodging and breakfast, and lunch and dinner on Friday are included in your fee. The complete, correct BSA uniform is required for all participants. The BSA or Venturing field uniform will be worn throughout camp school. This includes the official uniform shirt with shoulder loops, Scout shorts or pants with Scout belt, and socks. A Scouting polo or t-shirt may be worn in place of the uniform shirt at designated times, however the complete field uniform is required for evening meals, retreat ceremonies, worship services, campfires, and other formal activities. Housing will be in tents with canvas cots. Please bring a sleeping bag or bedding appropriate for the weather, which can include cool nights. Bedding and linens will not be provided. In addition to the items listed above, please bring an open mind, a co-operative attitude, a willing smile and a lot of enthusiasm. If you are arriving early due to travel arrangements, you may come on Friday. The early arrival fee is $40, which includes dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday. Your council will be billed if you arrive early, so be sure to consult with them prior to doing so. Complimentary transportation will be provided by the Twin Rivers Council for participants arriving via air, rail, or bus to Albany, NY. Travel straight through 4 traffic lights on Route 43 East (the fourth being in West Sand Lake at the intersection of Route 43 and Route 150). Shortly after you pass the Bonded Concrete Company, take a Left on to Route 351. At the second traffic light (blinking light) take a Right on to Plank Road (County Route 40). Continue 1.5 miles to the top of the hill. Take a Left over the bridge onto Blue Factory Road (County Route 79). Take the next Left on to Davitt Lake Road. The camp is at the end of the road. From the East From points East (Mass Pike/Taconic State Parkway) travel West on I-90 to Exit 11. At the traffic light make a Left on to Route 150 North. Continue for eight miles. At the traffic light take a Right on to Route 43 East. Shortly after you pass the Bonded Concrete Company, take a Left on to Route 351. At the second traffic light take a Right on to Plank Road (County Route 40). Continue 1.5 miles to the top of the hill. Take a Left over the bridge onto Blue Factory Road (County Route 79). Take the next Left on to Davitt Lake Road. The camp is at the end of the road. From the South From points South of Albany, take NYS Thruway to exit 23. Get on 787 North to the I-90 interchange and take I-90 East across the Hudson River to Exit 8. Travel straight through 4 traffic lights on Route 43 (the 4th being in West Sand Lake at the intersection on Route 43 and Route 150). Shortly after you pass the Bonded Concrete Company, take a Left on to Route 351. At the second traffic light (blinking light) take a Right on to Plank Road (County Route 40). Continue 1-½ miles to the top of the hill. Take a Left (over bridge) onto Blue Factory Road (County Route 79). Take the next Left on to Davitt Lake Road. The camp is at the end of the road. From the North From the North, take the Northway (I-87) to Exit 7 (Route 7 East). Continue East through Troy on Route 7 for several miles. Shortly after the Brunswick Fire Department, turn right on to Route 278. At the light take a left on to Route 2 East and take the first right on to Route 351 South. At the blinking light in Poestenkill take a Left on to Plank Road (County Route 40). Continue 1-½ miles to the top of the hill. Take a Left

(over bridge) onto Blue Factory Road (County Route 79). Take the next Left on to Davitt Lake Road. The camp is at the end of the road.

You should arrive between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Before we get started, there are a few things to do upon arrival: 1. Dress in BSA Field Uniform. 2. Check in at the registration area located at the camp office. 3. Turn in your BSA Medical Form. 4. Get your housing assignment. 5. Have an interview with your section leader. 6. Turn in your resource sheet to your section leader. 7. Pick up your NCS name tag from your section leader. 8. Go to the swimming area for your swim check (aquatics only). 9. Go to the dining hall, ready for lunch and formal opening at 12:30 noon. If you have any questions, please ask a staff member or a host council representative. My section meets for training.
