What is included? 4 new bridges 8-car high-level platforms at 11 th St in Michigan City, Ogden Dunes/Portage, and Miller Replaces embedded street running track in Michigan City with new separated rail along 11 th St and relocates the railroad south of 10 th St Relocates US Hwy 12 / US 20 connection to just east of Lake Street in Miller; shifts our tracks to the former US Hwy 12 alignment between Lake St and Fayette St

Michigan City 11 th Street Improvements Remove existing tracks Construct two new tracks on the north side of 11 th St., Chicago St. to Michigan Blvd. New station between Franklin St. and Cedar St. Multiple acquisitions 45 mph train speed One-way traffic on 11 th St. Closes ten streets along 11 th St (Kentucky, Tennessee, Elston, Manhattan, Buffalo, Pine, Spring, Cedar, York, and Maple) Future phases of the project will improve the tracks all the way to the Carroll Avenue Yard (includes closing Grace & Carroll Ave)

Double Track Cost Sharing Partnership Financing model similar to the one employed by 4 counties and State of Indiana to save the South Shore 40 years ago More recently used in Lake County to fund the West Lake Corridor rail expansion project 50% of the cost or $145M through the Federal Capital Investment Grant Program (CIG) Non-Federal Matching Share: o $72.5M from the State of Indiana o Balance shared equally among the 4 counties ($18.25M/county) Lake and Porter provided through the NWIRDA LaPorte County & Michigan City sharing the cost St. Joseph County providing the County s share with the City of South Bend working towards funding the realignment to the west side of the South Bend terminal
