Lanercost Priory A beautiful haven of tranquillity. Visit the stunning ruins of this 13th-century Augustinian monastery near Hadrian s Wall, and explore the well-preserved chancel and transepts, still remaining at their full height. You can also see unique Renaissance wall paintings in the Dacre Hall. Stott Park Bobbin Mill Take a trip back in time to Victorian England and encounter the Industrial Revolution. Internationally celebrated as a World Heritage Site, it is the best known frontier in the entire Roman Empire, and stands as a reminder of past glories of one of the world s greatest civilisations. Being there still invokes a sense of standing at the edge of the world, imagining what life would have been like at the efront of Roman Rule in Britain.
