Internationally celebrated as a World Heritage Site, it is the best known frontier in the entire Roman Empire, and stands as a reminder of past glories of one of the world s greatest civilisations. Being there still invokes a sense of standing at the edge of the world, imagining what life would have been like at the efront of Roman Rule in Britain. Travel east to Northumberland and visit Housesteads Roman Fort, one of the most complete Roman ts in Britain.
