Temagami overnight trips will pick-up and drop-off at in Oakville and transportation to and from Appleby s Northern Campus in Temagami is included in the cost of the 5-day and 12-day camps. Meals, camping gear and tents, canoes, life jackets and paddles are all provided for campers once they arrive to Appleby s Northern Campus on Rabbit Nose Island in Temagami (500 km north of Toronto). Temagami 5-day Overnight Canoe Trip The trip will be five days in length, departing Monday morning and returning Friday afternoon. The main component includes a basic level canoe trip consisting of three-days and two-nights camping and canoeing in the pristine wilderness of Lake Temagami. Temagami 12-day Overnight Canoe Trip During their 12 days, campers will spend the first two days learning new skills and preparing for the following 9-day, 8-night canoeing and camping trip. Sponge Bob and Dora the Explorer gave us a few loony ideas for fun this week. Don t forget the green slime! Week 2: Canada D'Eh! This week is short but one thing it isn t short on is fun! We will be celebrating the birth of our fabulous country with games, crafts and a lot of red and white! Week 6: Holiday Celebrations Join us for a week-long celebration of all your favourite holidays! Valentine s Day, Christmas in July and even camp-wide trick-or-treating. Don't forget your costume! Week 7: Appleby Circus An entire week of clowning around! From face painting to carnival games, this week is sure to be fun! Look forward to a special guest visiting us from the circus! Week 3: Super Hero Do you have super powers? Then this week is for you! Bring your super powers and your super costumes because it s time to save the world! Week 4: Pan Am Games Start off with the Flag Festival to learn about Pan Am and Parapan Am Games! Just like the Canadian Athletes, campers will compete in some fun activities against the 41 Pan American Countries and perhaps even learn some dance moves with Pachi the mascot! Week 8: Fairy Tales Through timeless stories such as Jack & the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood, campers will have a fairy tale theme week of fun! Be ready to run in a game of Giants, Wizards & Elves, make a crown or steal the treasure from a dragon! Week 9: Around the World Create a Lego Eifel Tower, a Mexican Mask, and then head to Europe to play Spain, Spoon, Spaghetti! Join in a fun game of UK toilet paper football or get wrapped up like an Egyptian mummy! Week 5: Pirates & Princesses Hear Ye! Hear Ye! and a Yo Ho-Ho! Riches and gold await the Princesses from across the land and Pirates of the sea who take on the treasure hunt, the royal ball and a swashbuckling pirate party! Week 10: The Great Outdoors From campfire sing-a-longs to tent building competitions to going on a bear hunt, campers will surely get a taste of the great outdoors this week and will have the camp badge to prove it! Camp Care Cost before & after care camp options (ages 4-15) Before & After Care is available daily for all age groups. You must pre-register for this service and your camper will be entertained with a variety of activities organized by our fabulous instructors daily from as early as 7:30 a.m. until our extended 6:00 p.m. pick-up time. Snack is also provided daily in the morning and afternoon. Camp program fee information Camp Program Fees include supervision by Appleby Camps staff, all of who are certified in Standard First Aid and CPR-C, have a police check and are extensively trained in Appleby s camp training program. All programs are led by experienced teachers and/or specially accredited head instructors. Instructor to camper ratios are 1:5 for the Discovery Camps (ages 4-7) and for all other camps the maximum instructor to camper ratio is 1:9. Fees include a nutritious lunch with hot selections for all full-day programs which run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and recreational swim time in the indoor pool. Appleby s scenic 60- acre lakeside campus offers outstanding academic, art and athletics facilities, both indoor and outdoor, for all its camp programs. children's fitness & arts tax credit The children s fitness tax credit and children s art credit is available for all child and youth recreational programs that meet the criteria established by the CRA. Information is collected for the operation of the camp which includes safety and emergency purposes, and for future correspondence with camp participants, which may include information about relevant upcoming events. Conduct: Campers are expected to demonstrate basic respect for the dignity and rights of others. The Director reserves the right to implement an established process and/or suspend and/or terminate the stay of any camper, who violates the camper Code of Conduct based on the following guidelines: zero tolerance of physical or psychological abuse/bullying; lack of respect for camp property and the property of others; behaviour that requires supervision beyond a reasonable level or behaviour deemed inappropriate by Camp staff. Refund Policy: Full refunds will be issued for any cancellation received 30 days prior to the first day of attendance of camp. For cancellations received 14 days prior to the first day of attendance of camp refunds will be subject to a $100 administration fee. Requests for cancellation received within 14 days of camp start date are non-refundable (full registration fee) unless a medical certificate accompanies the request. Refunds will not be granted for inclement weather or for days of camp not attended. Camps will do everything possible to avoid program cancellations; however we reserve the right to cancel a session of camp if the minimum enrollment is not met. In this circumstance, we will accommodate your child in an alternate program/alternate week or we will provide you a full refund at your discretion. Media Waiver: I hereby authorize the inclusion of my child in camp photographs and video and understand that this media will be used on Appleby s web-site, social media, hosted photo galleries and other sites related to school and camp program activities. Photos and videos may also be taken at any time for print or online promotional purposes but participants will not be identified. Concerns over this policy should be reported directly to Jenny Wyatt, 's Director of Camps at campphotos@appleby.on.ca.
