CABINS Originally a mid-size vessel carrying up to 570 passengers, the ship s configuration includes generous sized suites, junior suites and staterooms with and without balconies, which means she now accommodates up to 386 guests. All staterooms/cabins are fully air-conditioned and have a private bath and/or shower, a flat screen television, a safe, and a hair dryer. The sizes, layout and bed configuration will vary within a category. The sizes shown here, for each category, are average and include the balcony. Beds may be a fixed double (queen size) bed, fixed separate twin beds or twin beds that can be converted into double beds. All outside staterooms/ cabins have windows, except Category J cabins which have portholes. Balcony Class staterooms (categories A to D) include a welcome bottle of champagne, a refrigerator stocked with soft drinks, complimentary bottled water, dressing gown and slippers, boutique bathroom amenities and priority sightseeing boarding. Category A: Owner s Suites 550 square feet staterooms located on Lido Deck. Marble bathrooms, a dressing area, separate sitting area and a private balcony. Convertible twin beds. Category B: Junior Balcony Suites 310 square feet staterooms located on Lido Deck. Marble bathrooms, a walk-in closet, a sitting area and a private balcony. Convertible twin beds. Category C/D: Deluxe Balcony Staterooms 275 square feet staterooms located on Lido, Bridge and Belvedere Deck. A fixed double bed, separate twins or convertible twins depending on the cabin. A walk-in shower or bath, a sitting area and a private balcony. Cabins 807 and 808 on Lido Deck are smaller and do not have a sitting area. Category E: Deluxe Staterooms 215 square feet staterooms located on Belvedere Deck. Convertible twin beds and a private bath/shower or walk-in shower. Cabins 556 and 563 on Belvedere Deck are also smaller, but have a fixed double bed and a balcony. Category F: Deluxe Staterooms 170-200 square feet staterooms located on Lido, Bridge and Belvedere Deck. Fixed twin beds and a private shower. Views in some cabins are partially obstructed by lifeboats. Category I: Premium Outside Cabins 130 square feet staterooms located on Bridge Deck. Category M: Standard Inside Cabins 130 square feet staterooms located on Columbus Deck. Fixed twin beds and a private shower. COMMUNICATION The MV Aegean Odyssey features the latest satellite communications technology and direct dial telephones in all cabins. The Internet Centre, located on Belvedere Deck, is open 24 hours, and Wi-Fi access is available via various hot spots located in designated public areas. Please note that the connection speed depends on the ship s location and the strength of the satellite signal. Therefore, internet access may occasionally be unavailable. Charges are based on connection time and will be added to your on board account. Specific details concerning the ship s telephone and fax numbers will be provided in your final documentation. DISABLED FACILITIES Category J cabin number 404 is adapted for wheelchair users, and passengers must provide their own collapsible wheelchair. All passengers need to be self-sufficient and have a helper travelling with them, to take full responsibility for any assistance required during the cruise and excursions. There is lift access to all decks. 4
DRESS CODE Casual in the daytime, but in the evenings we recommend (for example) a jacket for men and a cocktail dress for ladies. If you are onboard over Christmas and/or New Year, you may wish to bring something a little dressier for celebrating these events. ELECTRICITY Cabins and suites feature 220 volt current, 2 round-pin (European-style) sockets. We recommend taking a universal adaptor. Hair dryers, electric rollers, curling irons, electric shavers and other small appliances can be used in your cabin. A limited number of transformers are available on board for conversion to 110 volts if required, but we do recommend you bring your own in case these are not available. For safety reasons, travel irons are not allowed. The Marco Polo Restaurant (for lunch and dinner) The most formal of the ship s restaurants, the Marco Polo has full waiter service, casual country-club elegance (a jacket is recommended for dinner) and Mediterranean influenced food. choose from a variety of starters, three dishes of the day, and a choice of desserts, fruit and cheese. In the evening, dinner will include appetisers, soup, salads, a choice of three or four main courses and desserts. The complimentary house wines are carefully sourced from Italy, Croatia, Sicily and Greece. There is also a full wine list of superior vintages available. The Terrace Café (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) With a combination of indoor and outdoor seating, sophisticated Mediterranean interior design and cooking on the open grill, the Terrace Café replicates charm and ambiance of a seaside trattoria. The day starts in the Terrace Café with breakfast, when you can either enjoy a healthy combination of yoghurt, fruit and muesli or indulge in eggs, bacon or an omelette. For lunch and dinner, as well as the grill, there is a large buffet with hot dishes of the day, a selection of salads and Italian antipasti such as bruschetta, beef carpaccio or fresh mozzarella drizzled with virgin olive oil. Pasta is served with a choice of homemade Italian sauces and for dessert there is a large selection including ice creams. For liquid refreshment there is a wine and aperitif bar. Tapas on the Terrace (for dinner) In the evenings, Tapas on the Terrace recreates the informal yet sophisticated atmosphere of a Mediterranean bistro. Here you can choose from a selection of mouth-watering appetisers, try the delicious seafood paella or pick from the wide range of authentic Italian pizzas. Equal care has been given to the selection of included wines served at Tapas on the Terrace. Afternoon Tea There is something magical about the tradition of taking tea at sea. On afternoons when you are not ashore, a selection of freshly-prepared sandwiches, cakes and scones will be served in the Charleston Lounge and Observation Lounge. Accompanying these is, of course, a selection of refreshing teas and a choice of coffees. A cup of Darjeeling, a slice of freshly baked cake and the panoramic views of the Mediterranean gives you the perfect combination. Late Night Snacks For those passengers enjoying a late night discussing the excitement of the day s sightseeing, a selection of light snacks, freshly prepared by the chefs, will be available in the Lido and Rendezvous bars. MEDICAL The ship has a fully-equipped medical centre staffed by a physician and licensed nurse. Charges apply for consultations, prescriptions and cabin visits. Guests with medical issues that may require treatment during the cruise and land programme, such as insulin, oxygen therapy etc. must advise Noble Caledonia as soon as possible before departure. Passengers who travel with a large supply of medication may be required to show documentation when passing through customs. 6
Voyages to Antiquity, the owner of the ship, reserve the right to refuse or revoke passage to anyone who is in a physical condition that is beyond the care that can be provided or made available. MONEY MATTERS A cashless system is operated on board the MV Aegean Odyssey with all purchases charged to your cabin account. The final account can be settled in US Dollars or British Pounds at the end of your cruise. Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards (a surcharge may apply), cash and Travellers Cheques, can be used as settlement. Personal cheques and debit cards are not accepted. The MV Aegean Odyssey cannot convert into local currency, yet there may be the chance to buy small non-refundable local currency packages on board in certain countries. Gratuities Your cruise fare includes gratuities to your cabin steward and the restaurant staff. Guests, at their own discretion, may wish to also show appreciation to individuals offering exceptional service. A service charge of 12.5% is automatically added to your account for any bar service. SMOKING Smoking on board the MV Aegean Odyssey is only permitted in the designated area. Smoking is prohibited in all other areas including cabins and balconies, and on excursion coaches.
