Introduction Canalside Centre is an activity centre and residential accommodation facility situated in West London, and located only minutes away from vibrant Ladbroke Grove, Notting Hill, and Portobello Road, which is home to one of the most famous street markets in the world. The area is a popular destination for Londoners and tourists alike, and the centre is also situated along the route of the Notting Hill Carnival (Europe s biggest carnival), and as such is surrounded by many of the diverse and multicultural aspects of the area. With many restaurants and shops within walking distance of the centre going out is both an easy and exciting option for your group. The centre has excellent public transport links and London s famous sightseeing attractions are only 30 minutes away by London Underground. Canalside Centre s accommodation facility is ideal for hosting large groups of young people on a visit to Europe s most cosmopolitan city! The centre offers your group exclusive use of the accommodation facility during your stay, and provides you with a competitive alternative to other accommodation options in central London. Canalside Centre can also provide a range of adventurous activities for your group on site including kayaking, canoeing and bell-boating on the famous Grand Union Canal; rock climbing on our purpose built climbing wall, and a test of skill and co-ordination on our low ropes and traverse course.
Accommodation The centre has accommodation facilities which are ideal for large visiting groups (especially youth groups). Two large dormitory style rooms, one male and one female, can each sleep up to twenty people. Staff accommodation is separate from the dormitories and is split across two rooms, each sleeping up to four people. Heating is fitted throughout the building. This ensures the safety and security of all those inside the building. In addition to this your group will enjoy exclusive use of the centre s accommodation facility during your entire stay! Toilets & Shower Rooms The centre has two changing rooms (male and female) that include showers. There are toilets located in each shower room, as well as three toilets situated on the first floor. Towels, soap and personal hygiene items are not provided by the centre. Disabled Access The centre is also fully accessible to people with disabilities and is complete with a lift, disabled toilet cubicles and large shower rooms. Kitchen Area The dining room and kitchen area is modern and purpose built, and is designed to assist those who would like a self-catering option. The kitchen contains: a large cooker / double oven, dishwasher, microwave, plates, crockery, cutlery and utensils, two fridges and a freezer. A large supermarket is located adjacent to the centre which makes food and essential shopping easy and practical for your group. There are also a number of local restaurants that can provide alternative catering options for your group at affordable prices.
Prices Accommodation Canalside Centre offers accommodation to large groups for a minimum two night stay, priced at 800.00 for a group of up to 20 people. This equates to a cost of 20.00 per person, per night (and each group can have two free staff places as part of this package). Additional places are then charged at a rate of 20.00 per night up to a maximum group size of 40 people. Please contact the centre for further details. Group Activities In addition to accommodation Canalside Centre can also offer your group an exciting range of adventurous activities that instil confidence and are perfect for team building! The activities listed below are priced at a minimum of 10 participants and multiples of 10 thereafter. Activity Description Price Kayaking/ Canoeing Group Challenges/ Team Building Kayaking/Canoeing develops an individual s coordination skills and confidence. The session will start in the centre s own basin and then out onto the famous Grand Union Canal. Picturesque trips to Little Venice can also be arranged for your group. Contact the centre for more information. A group activity that focuses on team building and includes the traverse wall, low ropes course, and raft building. Bell-boating Each bell-boat holds up to 10-14 people. It is a team challenge that tests the mental strength and endurance of a group. To confirm your booking with us, a completed booking form needs to be filled out and returned as soon as possible. A 50% deposit secures your booking, and the remaining balance must be paid one calendar month before the arrival date. If activities are also being booked, consent forms must be filled out for all participants and returned upon arrival before the activities take place. Contact Number/s: Activities Name of Activity/Activities: Number of Participants for Each: Terms & Conditions Cleaning and Damage Charge The centre reserves the right to charge for cleaning should the centre be left in an unreasonable state after your group visit. This charge is a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 500. Any damage to the centre will be charged according to the cost of repairs, materials and labour. Cancellation Policy If you wish to make a cancellation, please give a one calendar month s notice to receive a 100% refund of the deposit, after this no refund can be given. Cancellation By Canalside Centre The centre reserves the right to cancel bookings. In the event of cancellation customers may be offered a full refund or an alternative booking.
