Full Day Tour PALERMO and CEFALU (10h) Meet the guide and the rest of the group at the meeting point. Scour the hinterland and the coast with one excursion visiting two of the most important art cities of Sicily: Palermo and Cefalu. Palermo located in the western side of Sicily, is the capital and preserves the most important Arab-Norman, Byzantine and Spanish monuments. by bus with a tour leader on board. During the trip there will be a short stop for services. Upon arrival our local guide will start the tour walking through the Quattro Canti, the Church of the Martorana, Piazza Bellini, Piazza Pretoria, the Cathedral and all the historical center including a local touch with the typical market "Capo". Alternatively, visit of Monreale, famous for its mosaics, facultative. Optional lunch extra at a restaurant downtown. After lunch, drive to Cefalu' on the north coast. Visit the old town and the famous Norman Cathedral. Christ Pantocrator shown in the mosaics inside. Return via Messina in order to complete the ride along the coast without crossing inland. A full tour of Mount Etna, a UNESCO site since 2013, giving the opportunity to scour the slopes of the mountain as well as altitudes. by bus with tour leader, our first point of arrival is the Alcantara Gorge, where we make a short stopover. The Gorges of the Alcantara river are formed from solidified basalt and are quite impressive. You can walk along the bed of the river by paying an extra ticket. We then proceed to Randazzo where we board the "Circumetnea" an old traditional narrow-gauge train that goes around the foot of the volcano reaching up to Adrano in the south. Then by bus again, reaching 1,900 meters. Stop with the possibility of soft trekking for visiting the most recent lava flows and the Silvestri craters, now extinct. Back to Taormina. B.C. with the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Altar of Hieron II and the Latomies of Paradise with the Ear of Dionysius. Afterwards, visit to the island of Ortigia, historical center, with the Temple of Apollo, the Cathedral, important baroque church built on an ancient temple, and the Fountain of Arethusa with the famous papyrus plant. The city of Agrigento, situated on the south coast, is famous for its archaeological park called " Valley of the Temples " consists of well-preserved temples built by the Greeks between 510 and 430 BC. During the trip there will be a short stop for services. Upon arrival in Agrigento, visit the Valley of the Temples (Juno, Concordia, Hercules, Zeus, Castor and Pollux). Possibility to have optional lunch by a seaside restaurant. Continue to Piazza Armerina, in the center of Sicily, and visit the Villa Romana del Casale of about 3,500 square meters with its famous Roman mosaics dating back to the fourth century AD. - GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS AGREEMENT - BOOKING - CONFIRMATION All tours have to be booked with Gartour by e-mail (gartour@gartour.net or through our web site www.gartour.it). Some tours/excursions are on Free Sale basis (with automatic confirmation), while other tours/excursion are On Request and can be considered valid only after our booking confirmation. Upon confirmation we will advise whether free pick-up service from hotel is possible (if so, we will advise pick-up time) or if clients will have to make their own way to meeting point to join the tour. All the rates indicated are in and intended per person. PICK-UP IN HOTEL / PRESENTATION AT MEETING POINT For those tours including pick-up from hotel, clients have to be in the lobby of hotel waiting for tour representative on time. Then clients will be accompanied to the meeting point and shown the particular bus or guide for their specific tour in their language (please note that all tours may be performed in more than one language). IMPORTANT: At certain times there may be unforseen delays in the arranged pick-up times but we kindly request clients to wait in the hotel lobby. For those tours not including pick-up from hotel, we ask to all clients to be at the designated meeting points at the advised time in order participate (usually meeting time is 15-20 minutes prior departure). No reimbursement wil be granted to clients who is not at the indicated place of pick-up/departure at the time established. Similarly, no reimbursement will be granted to clients who depart the tour prematurely, lose contact with the guide or who do not complete the tour/excursion. CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS It may happen that, due to operational difficulties or reasons beyond our control (travel conditions, strikes, changes in opening hours, closure of museums, delays or other unforseen circumstances) tour providers may be forced to change or cancel a tour. Tour companies reserve the right to cancel a tour without prior notice due to reasons beyond their control with the only obligation of reimbursing the cost of the tour. In this case, clients may claim reimbursement only of the amount paid. In the event of unforessen schedule or itinerary changes beyond control, tour companies reserve the right to provide no reimbursement. LIABILITY Gartour and partnering tour companies are not responsible for any loss of personal valuables, luggage or objects during excursions, or for any loss of personal items which are left on tour coaches, or for any damage casued by third parties to personal items during the tour. We are not also responsible for partial or total closures of museums, monuments and churches, delays or irregularities caused by third parties. Then an alternative itinerary and visits to other museums wil be proposed, without any variation to the established tariff, and clients will be informed prior to departure. In the event of unforeseen schedule or itinerary changes beyond control, tour companies reserve the right to not grant any reimbursements. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND NOTES Please note that Italian laws do not permit selling alcoholic beverage to teens under 18 years of age; therefore clients under-age will be served non-alcoholic beverages. We regret that not all the tours are accessible to guests with wheelchairs or physical impairments requiring special assistance. Please let us know in advance of any special needs or clients' impaired mobility in order to determine whether participation in a particular tour is possible. COMPLAINTS Any client complaint must be communicated to Gartour in writing within and no later than 10 working days after the date of the tour. Thereafter Gartour is not obliged to review complaints and no reimbursements will be approved.
