ORP WI RWS W of THR RWY 15/33 may contain vehicles or ACFT at any time. ACFT with wingspan of 40.5M (133FT) or less permitted to TKOF and land with either ORP in use. TWR will advise visiting arriving ACFT through the phraseology Approach and/or departure end ORP/s in use. Visiting departing ACFT will be advised when the DEP end ORP is in use. FLIGHT PROCEDURES 1. GENERAL: Amberley Airspace Amberley airspace is commonly operated in two different modes defined as follows: a. Little Amberley - CTR (SFC-A085), R625A (A015-A085) and R625B (A025-A085). b. Big Amberley - CTR (SFC-A085), R625A (A015-A085), R625B (A025-A085), R625C (A045-A085) and R625D (A085-FL210). CTR and R625 NOTAMs can be found in NAIPS using the AMX code. 2. ARRIVING ACFT: a. ILS TRAINING - CIV ACFT Use of the AMB ILS is permitted DRG AMB ATS HR. The FLW conditions apply: a. Safety Pilot is to be carried in accordance with CAR 153. b. Procedures: (i) ACFT can expect to be vectored on to FNA; (ii) LDG strobe and NAV LGT to be on DRG FNA in VMC; (iii) All APP to be terminated via the missed approach unless specifically directed by ATC; (iv) PILS to be annotated on flight plan. c. Availability: (i) PILS availability subject to MIL OPS and serviceability; (ii) PILS AVBL AH subject to serviceability. ILS critical area not protected AH; (iii) ABCP will notify availability provided request is received at least 48 HR prior via email to: amb.abcp@defence.gov.au. Requests are to include: a. Callsign; b. ACFT Type; c. Time Requested; d. Contact Details. (iv) Separate arrangements for airline, EMERG services, and CIV ACFT on MIL related tasks are AVBL. 4. Special provisions for CIV ACFT on NAT in AMB CTR: a. The MIL reserves the right to allocate priority to MIL ACFT. CIV ACFT on NAT may be INTRP or terminated at any time DRG APCH; b. NML EMERG response SER will be AVBL with no special provisions for CIV ACFT on NAT. 5. TRANSITING AIRCRAFT VFR aircraft requesting to enter or transit AMB CTR or restricted areas are to contact ACD on 134.6 MHz for AWY clearance. VFR ACFT should submit FPL to reduce delays in processing ACFT. If clearance is not immediately available remain in Class G airspace and, for ACFT departed Archerfield: a. BTN 205 and 259 DEG M AF, track east of SPRING MOUNTAIN then south of FLINDERS PEAK. b. BTN 260 and 309 DEG M AF, track via the northern shores of LAKE MANCHESTER, thence the LAKE MANCHESTER VFR route, remaining not ABV 1,500FT AMSL, until clearance becomes AVBL. c. The LAKE MANCHESTER VFR route is established for VFR transit of R625A. (i) Tracking shall be: a track joining the northern shores of Lake Manchester (LMC), Fernvale (FNVL), Lowood, Mt Tarampa and Lake Clarendon (LKON) in either direction. (ii) Levels shall be: - To remain OCTA, ACFT shall be not ABV 1,500FT AMSL. - When cleared by AMB ACD or AMB APP, ACFT may operate as per their clearance. Circuit OPS at Amberley occur WI the ATZ WI a 5NM radius of Amberley ARP, SFC to 1,500FT. Unless ATC direct otherwise, circuits will be conducted as follows: a. RWY 15 - right circuits b. RWY 33 - left circuits c. RWY 04/22 - left circuits d. Jet and large turbo-prop - 1,500FT AMSL e. Light aircraft and HEL - 1,000FT AMSL 7. HELICOPTER OPERATIONS Helicopters authorised to conduct circuit training at Amberley are to expect operations to either of the following, not above 500FT AMSL: a. CHOPPERS EAST: Utilising threshold RWY 22 as a HLS, remaining WI 600M (2,000FT) of threshold RWY 22 and east of a line parallel to RWY 15/33 intersecting threshold RWY 22. b. CHOPPERS WEST: Utilising threshold RWY 04 as a HLS, remaining WI 600M (2,000FT) of threshold RWY 04 and west of a line parallel to RWY 15/33 intersecting threshold RWY 04. Helicopters ARR Amberley may expect landing at Choppers East or West then air transit to parking. Helicopters DEP Amberley may expect air transit to Choppers East or West for DEP. 8. NVG OPERATIONS Due to HN NVG OPS all RWYS are to be treated as active, regardless of lighting status. 9. NOTIFICATION OF AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS Agricultural OPR operating in QLD and NSW, S of Rockhampton and N of Newcastle are encouraged to provide details of their areas of OPS to assist with separation. During ATS HRS notified on ATIS and outside TWR HR RPA controller MNT CTAF 118.3, callsign Unmanned-HAL. All RPAS requests and enquiries are to be sent to 452sqnamb.rpas@defence.gov.au with at least 10 business days PN. OPS are subject to MIL OPS and may be restricted or cancelled at any time. CTAF - AFRU 118.3 1. Outside TWR HR. 2. Due to terrain shielding and possible communications limitations, taxiing ACFT and/or ground vehicles at one end of the airfield cannot see or hear ACFT and/or ground vehicles at the other end of the airfield. On CTAF ACFT must taxi for DEP via TWY A2 and backtrack for RWY 15 or 33. ACFT with multiple antennae must use upper antennae in preference. 3. CTR and R625 may be ACT at any time with little notice. CK NOTAM and ATIS. 4. SER vehicles may be OPR on AD. 5. ACFT planning to enter CTA IMT after DEP YAMB outside TWR HR, are to CTC BN Centre FREQ 134.3 only whilst TAX at YAMB. Otherwise FREQ 121.2 airborne prior to CTA entry to obtain CLR. 6. RFFS MNT Amberley TWR FREQ 118.3 outside TWR HR. Aircrew OPR FR Amberley AH are to notify Fire Section on Phone 07 5361 2533 and ADZ AMD EOBT/ETA. Airborne ACFT must CTC "Base Fire" on TWR FREQ 118.3 to ADZ AMD ETA 20MIN BFR ARR. 7. When declaring a PAN outside of promulgated Medical hours, pilots of aircraft which are not scheduled high performance ejection seat aircraft are to specify whether medical services are required. 8. Fire Section will conduct strip clearances outside ATS HR upon request. CTC "Base Fire" on TWR FREQ 118.3 or Phone 07 5361 2533. Note: Real time emergencies have priority over strip clearances. 9. ILS Critical Area not protected outside TWR HR. 10. PAL activates AD LGT for 30 MIN. See INTRO para 23.5d for activation sequence. Military aircraft operate at high speed, conduct non-standard circuits, and may be difficult to sight. Therefore non-participating pilots should remain clear of military aerodromes by at least 5NM or overfly not below 2,500FT when the tower is inactive. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES The FLW restrictions apply WI the Amberley CTR: 1. High Speed Low Level FLT. No AD attacks or high speed (>350KIAS), low level FLT BLW 1,500FT AGL WI 10NM YAMB without prior approval FM SADFO Amberley or OC 82WG IAW AMB SI (OPS) 03-02. ACFT are not to overfly the base built-up area BLW 1,500FT AGL at high speed. 2. Pilots are to avoid overflying Ipswich Hospital (055/2.4). ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1.
