1. day Constance Arrival Look forward to Constance, the largest town on Lake Constance with all its sights. They range historically back almost as far as the history of the city. From the late antique Roman castle and early medieval churches over the patrician and guild houses of the medieval town citizens to large contiguous Nouveau and Gründerzeit ensemble. As a former episcopal town the city has a rich sacral heritage, which includes among other things the former Episcopal Cathedral, the Konstanz Cathedral and a number of former convents and canons'. Landmark of the city is the statue of Imperia, which is a monument to the prostitutes of the council time. Highly recommended and modern are also the aquariums of the Sea Life Center and the Archaeological Provincial Museum. 2. day Meersburg and Lindau 50 km + boat trip With the boat from Konstanz you cross over to Meersburg, which is famous especially because of the beautiful location and the romantic angle, but also because of the many museums. Explore the beautiful medieval town on the vineyard slopes and then cycle through Friedrichshafen to Langenargen. On your way you cross neat little villages such as Wasserburg and Nonnenhorn and there is always an opportunity for a break at the beer garden or the beach. Do not dawdle too much, because your milestone Lindau, the Bavarian "Metropolis in the lake" has many attractions. Stroll along the promenade, where Lighthouse and Lion frame the famous harbor entrance and the massive old lighthouse, also called Mangturm, rises. Visit the Old Town Hall, stroll through the medieval Maximilianstrasse to the marketplace with the two churches and marvel at the city museum with its murals. Also take a look at the Peter Church, which is one of the oldest buildings in the area. Back it goes quite comfortably by boat to Meersburg, and from there by ferry to Constance.
3. day Island Mainau 15 km Today you will cycle to Mainau Island, which attracts large numbers of visitors all year round. In spring it is particularly colorful with 15,000 tulips, the roses in the summer and the dahlias are serious competitors in the autumn. With its planting and cultural exhibitions, the Butterfly House and the Palm House, the Flower island is worth seeing throughout the year. Since so many visitors enjoy the floral splendor of the island, it is explorable only on foot. After your worthwhile tour you go back on your bike and whiz back to Constance to the hotel. 4. day Ueberlingen and Salem 55 km + boat and ferry Start the morning comfortably to Wallhausen. By boat you go from there to Ueberlingen. Visit the well-preserved old town and stroll through the almost Mediterranean waterfront, before you continue cycling on the cycle route to the monastery church Birnau. From here you take the Prälatenweg to Salem with its famous castle, which is among the finest and most important cultural monuments of the Lake Constance region. Maybe you want to take a break in the tavern of the 'Affenberges'? In the afternoon in Meersburg you take ferry back to Constance. 5. day Island Reichenau and Stein am Rhein 50 km + boat trip Today you have two beautiful goals in your program. First you will cycle to the island of Reichenau, since 2001 UNESCO - World Heritage Site. The island with the monastery of Reichenau is according to the UNESCO an outstanding witness to the religious and cultural role of a great Benedictine monastery in the Middle Ages. After a worthwhile tour you sail from Reichenau to Gaienhofen. Then you will cycle an the beautiful Lake Constance Cycle Route along the peninsula Höri to Hemmenhofen where Otto Dix lived temporarily. Your second big day destination Stein am Rhein presents itself with many picturesque house facades around the town square. Stroll through the town and enjoy a nice Cafe break. The way back leads along the southern shore of the Untersee via Steckborn and the small village of Gottlieben to Constance. 6. day Constance departure After breakfast your beautiful holiday ends at the Hotel in Constance.
